• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

During the week of the upgrade, I was playing with the Terrans I am working. I realized I didn't have Dan1025's Intrepid class quite right. Haste was the problem here. Dan included a lot of wonderful details in the textures, so I went back and added them in. I still wasn't happy with the way the Main Deflector Dish area looked, So I rebuilt that part of the texture completely. I am pretty pleased with the results. She makes a wonderful dark reflection of Dan's work now. I only did a fleet version, no HeroShip. I do not intend to do a HeroShip version of Defiant either.

Thanks Guys, much appreciated. Just got the word from Dan - release is a go! so this makes three I can release just as fast as I can pack them properly. Waitaminit! You said three, Thunder? Yup, shore did. Did this one earlier this week while waiting on the upgrade to complete. had to do something with all that spare time, lol.

Neat I like the name change, feel more appropriate in the Mirror Universe, as they don't have Ambassadors now do they?

Should have all three - Ambuscade class, Steamrunner class, and Intrepid class ready to upload in the morning, my time. Somebody please tell the Upload Kitteh he needs to check his litterbox a littlle more regularly, lol. Terrans will have quite the proper fleet when I am done. Second destroyer will be the Nova class by Captain Fingers. I have a fondness for this ship which is slightly unhealthy and cannot wait to see her in Terran Empire livery!

Kitteh? Kitteh! put down the nip and get crackin' Files comin' in!

I think the Kitteh should go and check the Litter Box, again. Right now. I am having difficulties with uploading pics using the new system. So I'll tell you what it is - The Terran Empire Nova class Destroyer.

Let's try onoe more thing to see if we're posting pics correctly. I may have them sized wrongly, so we'll try again with 800 x 600 and .jpg format. This should work. A good Nova class was harder to find than I thought. The one I use is a straight BC import with little poly reduction and 1024v1024 px resolution on the textures. Bit much for a fleet version and maybe a bit ,uch for most people's computers. Found one I liked and best of all it was by modders whose work I am already using. Little more challenging than I wanted to make it come out right but the end result was worth it.

So are you having problems with the attachment feature?

If I am having problems they are probably entirely self inflicted. lol. I may be using the wrong resolutions or, the wrong filetypes or, exceeding the filesize limits. Went thru this same thing a for bit with the old site and figured out how to get my pics up. The post processing I do on some of them doesn't help much with the filesize either. Thanks for the concern. I promise I'll holler good and loud if it continues.

Ah okay, well if it continues I'll look into it, for reference here are the common picture file types, maximum file size and maximum resolution:

jpg 2MB 1680x1050
png 2MB 1680x1050

This gets sent in after I see the Nova class is available for download. Wouldn't want to be responsible for burying Upload Kitteh under too much to do, rofl.

Okay, now I understand. Thank you. If there is something like this going on, would you please post something about it? Perfectly good reason not to have everything uploaded asap. Real Life should always be more important. But I did not know if I had done something wrong or not.

ISS Hecate, investigating the unexplained disappearance of several Imperial civilian ships out past the frontiers of the former Romulan Star Empire, discovers far more than she bargained for. After a hasty sighting report is dispatched to StarFleet, her captain decides not to wait for either instructions or reinforcements. This is a choice he will regret for only a short time...

I need some help, please. I found a .SOD copy of Rick Knox's BC Akira I forgot I had. According to the documentation I have with it, it was originally converted over by Sherman2. This is not the one he 'borrowed' from MAP. As near as I can determine, he did a straight import and then hacked the job trying to reduce the poly count to a manageable level. Unfortunately, it is exported for A1 not A2. I am trying to finish up the TNG Terran Fleet. I've received no reply to my PM to K-merse about using his .SOD as the basis for a Terran Akira. Is there anyone capable of reexporting this .SOD, as is, for me who would be willing to do so? My last Windows update means my version of MS3D seems to be no longer compatible with Win7. My 'puter, AV, and Windows Defender all throw a hissy fit whenever I try to use it. Thanks in advance for the help.

On the topic of K_Merse, I got an email from him today, he lost his username and password for MSFC, so I had to resend him his password change form. So it's probably why you haven't received a response from his PM.

If you do get a no from K_Merse Thunderfootm when he gets on and want to follow this I'd be more than happy to re-export to A2 format for you. If you can find the original BC model (probably on BCFiles) I can even do that for you if you like instead. I know you're after a quality Akira model for your Terran Fleet. A quick hardpoint job on a single ship won't put me out much.
