Hello:
Your Romulan ship looks nice, but I do know you said the texture will be retouched so I'll say nothing... except that yay it looks ready for some sneaky action  .

I know you know I am making an alternate universe version of this mod, but in a waaaaaaay much smaller scale; Yet I think you should ask Atolm, who has a DeviantArt account, so you can make 3d models of some of his Romulan designs. He gave me permission to make custom versions, hat is why I think you should do the same :) .

Love the look of the V8 Maj! The details are gorgeous.

Since this is a TMP based era I was wondering if you are going to go with an overall "green" aesthetic for the Romulans?

From what I remember, the green palettes for Klingon and Romulan ships were begun generally from TNG onwards, save for the Klingon BoP; the Romulans and Klingons had a metallic grey palette in TOS and the movies.

Considering this is a TMP mod I am looking at it as a transition period and the fact we never saw a TMP Romulan ship in canon we're pretty free to go whichever way we like.

I seem to recall your Klingons having the green look overall in Yesteryears, are the Romulans also going to follow suit and have green ships?

Klingon ships are a little more grey than the Romulan ships but yes Romulans will be green in YY.

In a way yes I am going original in my interpretation of the Star Trek Galaxy in YY.
I have looked at some of his designs and have certainly considered drawing inspiration from some of his designs. Not being a great modeler and rather rusty too, I probably won't reproduce any exactly as it's a bit beyond my skill level.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

I look forward to seeing what a TMP Romulan fleet would look like. The Vas Hatham has always been my favorite Romulan ship, given that "Balance of Terror" is my favorite Star Trek episode ever. So I am very pleased to see how you have adapted it for Yesteryears.

Will the ship still have the primary purpose of stealth attacks via torpedoes or has its role and weapons compliment changed to something a little more casual?

Hello:
I might also been unable to get Atolm's designs into their full glory, but I think we both can try them the best way we can, for our own mods

Looks great to me mate. I don't have an issue with the green - after all, the Rom ships in ENT were green. if anything, the TOS ones are now the anomaly (controversial i know).

Will have plasmas and disruptors as she's more a V8b class having been upgraded with conventional warp (Klingon) drive and due to this has more power to run disruptors etc.

Hello:
I like how varied your fleet is, but while the hull is giving me some hints of where the Klingons want to go ship-design-wise, the Ent-era nacelle coils are a very nice touch that balances it out and sets the era which this ship really should belong to.

Keep it up!

Yeah the FASA D-2 destroyer as L-9 Ent-era Battleship. Despite this fact, i liked the design from ST-Legacy. Your model and texture are great.

Thanks she's an older design than the D7 etc. A aesthetic the Klingons go back to with the Vorcha etc. It's why she has older looking nacelles.

I did a Fasa L2 as my L5 artillery cruiser. This is her larger cousin built in a similar style. ;)

That L-9 is fantastic Maj! It definitely projects the strength of the Klingon fleet.

Your Klingons may be even far more of a match to contend with than the actual Klingons from TMP. Terrific work.

Love both of your new ships. Your Romulan ship has really slick and clean lines :) And your Klingon L9 looks awesome. I'm already getting requests for my Klingon fleet to get one of these babies added to them!;)

Recently I decided to go back and finish off the Federation models, however the textures are rather dated going back to 2012. So I decided to revamp them to be more in line with my Klingon ones. It's taken me ages and I only have 3 models left to do as many models required a total re-texture.

In the meantime I decided to model a fighter and bomber. The fighter is inspired by the Phantom from Shattered Universe and the Bomber is a combination of designs from Hellkite and myself.

Both aren't warp capable and require a carrier or starship to be able to get from system to system. I consider the Phantom a direct predecessor to the fighters we see in TNG and DS9.

Hello:
Fighters and Bombers could be considered quite an oddity for Starfleet, but I suppose they would be required for a more-realistic version of Star Trek considering there are many foes out there.

I wonder what ships do you have planned as carriers. Keep it up!

Sharp looking Fighters Maj. I'd always wish to see Fighters in Star Trek and I can certainly get behind a proper Carrier system for Starfleet and company.

Yeah well it's a mechanic in Sins so why not. I'll probably have the Constellation as the carrier. She has enough shuttlebays to support them.

Hello:
That is cool for Sins! in Armada2 you could get fighters using FleetOps I think. As for carriers, the Constellation class works well indeed  ... maybe the carrier from Starfleet Command too?

In FO you can.

Fighters aren't a big think in YY so it's more of a side feature. Especially for the Federation.

Yup! I would just like to know if you can also do it in Classic A2 (the mod for FleetOps).

I suppose it can be a neat side-feature for eventually, just an added eye-candy then?

Even though you mention them as a side feature, they sure add some distinction and personality to the mod.

As someone who wanted to be a Fighter pilot, it is a topic near and dear to my heart whenever I see Fighters put into sci-fi. So do to that, I am more than happy that you have chosen to include Fighters and Carriers in YY, no matter whatever role they end playing.

These two birds look very sleek, in fact I like them much better than the Fighters that were created for Star Trek Invasion or even the Peregrine, which has always not seemed quite right like a Fighter to me (Too big).

As " Old and retired " * Fighter pilot I can tell you that fighters are not small things that you might think of them as.

Example F-22 compared to a 80 Foot mobile home for some perspective

* (not a word Cabal :cry2: fragile subject for me)

Thanks for the reference Hellkite, my old man flew the F-104 Starfighter and my love as a kid was the Falcon. Even if I was aiming to fly for the Jarheads when I went to enlist.

The Peregrine just looked too much like a shuttle to me, especially when seeing the cockpit, and Maj's Fighter seems more in line with what a space Fighter might appear to me but I realize that the Peregrine might take after the Intruder or Aardvark in terms of size/design.

All this said, I'm just happy Maj is having Fighters/Bombers at all.

And Maj, the Constellation as in the Stargazer is your Fed Carrier?

Fighters are good idea and they have been in SFC and SFB for long time even if i see them more as annoyance. They are a logical addition, seeing the Earth powers armys addiction to fighters.

The Constellations hangars are no hangars as this class is classified as Starcruiser.
But you should make a dedicated carrier for them if you want to use those in Sins.

Be careful, You shouldn't have too many fighters in Sins. From a certain number, the game starts to lag.

She's got plenty of hangers enough to support a small wing. As far as I am concerned Starfleet wouldn't run dedicated carriers.

Well my fighter is 750 poly's and my bomber is just under a 1000. So I should be pretty safe. That all said I don't plan to run many.

That's an interesting choice for a Carrier, will this be a custom variant of the Constellation Cruiser or just the standard Constellation re-purposed as a Carrier for the needs of the mod?

Hellkite answered that question for me thanks mate. :)
