Thanks for the graphic Hellkite. I supposed that the standard Constellation's bays are built with shuttlecraft in mind and that a system for launching Fighters would require a different design, at least internally, that's why I asked.

Whatever the case, it looks great and I am intrigued at the possibilities of Carrier action, no matter how limited they may be. Very much looking forward to see more from you guys.

How so? No system for launching Fighters would be need they can launch on there own power just like any shuttlecraft as such no need for a resting system landing as well.

Fighters would be simply a/an specialised shuttlecraft optimised for combat in the most simple term.

Welcome for the graphic and reply

I suppose I was imagining a catapult system similar to Battlestar Galactica, Space Above and Beyond and Buck Rogers, where Fighters can scramble in a minute's notice. I know it's inaccurate to think of space in comparable terms to actual modern Carrier flight ops but when I think of Carriers, that is what I think of.

Nevermind my questions though, I was just asking technical questions which have no bearing on how it will actually work in the mod, so it doesn't matter at the end of the day. It was just a curiosity on my part.

Oh, I like the Ent-B parts on this one, more smoother and less chunky than the Dom War variant.

Hello:
A fast cruiser looks like a fitting role indeed. But would it be a late-game ship due to it been related to the Excelsior class?

Most likely yes, one of the later cruiser designs.

Fantastic ship Maj, I like your version more than the actual one used in the show. I also love how you mounted the warp engines in the standard format, instead of sideways, like on the original version.

I always thought that it would be fitting to have the later variations of Excelsior based ships come out of the Lakota or Cheyenne variant (Enterprise B) instead of the classic Excelsior, as they seem to have been a natural upgrade for the standard tech that Starfleet began to use from the end of TMP towards the Lost Years. This ship perfectly represents that progression.

Comparison of the Excelsior and Centaur sizes.

Fantastic ship Maj, I like your version more than the actual one used in the show..

I never liked the original kitbash many issues with that design and thus I decided to redesign it to remove those issues and make her a little more unique.

I love it, to be honest. To me it almost seems like the counterpart to the Excelsior that the Miranda was to the Constitution Refit.

What's more, the Centaur now doesn't feel like a kitbash, it feels like its own design.

The comparison shot is gorgeous btw, I can see how the ship would swoop in with higher agility for fast strike passes and pull away before being hit, changing direction, then swooping in to repeat. Whereas the Excelsior is more in line with the old Battleship motto of stand your ground and pound them away with the heavy hitters.

Hello:
I agree with Archonon, specially after watching that comparison pic, I like a lot the Centaur class is not just a kitbash as that is how the ship felt during "Deep Space Nine", so yay!

Yeah I gave it a neck so the torpedoes wouldn't hit the bottom of the saucer that always annoyed me. Also making the deck on the saucer a bit different with a new shuttlebay design and Ent-B style impulse engines worked out to be a superior design all round.

As an artist I'm known to not sticking too much to canon if I have improve upon it I certainly will. Glad you all seem to like her. :)

Hello:
There is nothing wrong about retouching a bit the designs we are working on, specially if that will only improve them in a way that make sense and won't make them OP or something. The retouches makes them unique :D.

Very nice! So I take it this version of the ship is sans the "sensor greebles" found on the studio model?

Considering most of them resemble the ones on the Constellation class i figure they are stock on at least one variant. but I would also expect Centaurs to have variants similar to the Miranda class.

Thanks everyone, Glad you all like it.

Yeah it's been a while and I have come to the realization that working on it a few months a year and doing it solo since Syf disappeared years ago isn't going to get it done. While I'll still do models here and there for it I have decided to release everything I have done publicly as bare model and textures so everyone can at least enjoy what has already been created. That includes putting them into your own mods, convert to other games and whatnot etc.

At some point I may end up getting around to complying it all into a mod of some sort but at this stage I can't see it happening. When I release them I am not sure hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I only really spend time on the computer when we have bad weather and have a bit this week so here's hoping.

I don't see this as a cancellation more a public sharing of the models from YY that are ready for game use. Will be great to see them in some games rather than just sitting on my harddrive.

sucks to see the mod going on a sort of hiatus, but on the flip side, I can't wait to see some of those models that I only saw in screenshots... heres to you Maj!!!!

Hello:
First of all, I am glad to see you are still alive and around, Majestic.

It makes me sad that your plans will not come as planned, but I do hope you'll still be making models, as you mentioned, and that we'll get to see more of you soon too. Take care!

Sorry to hear your mod is on hold. But I'm glad your releasing what you have. I just went and created a file for all of your ships. So they will be flying around in my mod as soon as they are downloaded. I hope you'll continue to add more ships as you complete them. I promise to give them all a good home!;)

Yeah mate I am still alive. Just been really busy working on my 4wd lol.

I will certainly continue to make 3d models at a casual rate for fun. Probably try my hand at some B5 models as Star Trek has become stale after so many years. I'll get back to Star Trek at somepoint though.

Oh wow, that work is still going? You are starting to make me think you are building one from scratch :lol2: .

That would be awesome to see  .

Great to see you around again Maj.

While I regret that the mod isn't as lively as it once was, I look forward to seeing you create whatever you do have the time and inspiration to do. And I thank you also for considering releasing your current YY models, what lovely additions they will make to my extremely over saturated game!

More than that, I heard you say B5 models...? You sir have piqued my interest, can't wait to see what you create from there. I still use our old B5A2 models and a couple of models we had back in the original B5Armada TC. Love to see some new blood for B5 ships.

Essentially that is what I have done, turned multiple vehicles destined for the scrappers into one really good one. I really need to update my thread here on it. I have a instragram account dedicated just for this. If anyone is interested I can post a link for you all.

Yup focusing on the Dilgar war era to be precise. Also I'll be doing my own touch to them. How many models I do all depends on how much time and inspiration I have.
