I don't see this as a cancellation more a public sharing of the models from YY that are ready for game use. Will be great to see them in some games rather than just sitting on my harddrive.

I have my base of a mod I started long time ago for Armada II: I started to insert the ships, but then I dicovered Sins of a Solar Empire.
If you like and someone would help me (hardpoints, gui, edit the odf files), I would insert your ships and stuff in my base mod and I would publish it under the name "Star Trek Yesteryears by Majestics". It would be a shame if your original idea is not realized.

I certainly would look forward to seeing anything that you have developed for Yesteryears be released in any capacity. TMP is where my love for Trek lies the most and I truly appreciate any mods that cover that era, regardless of their status for completion.

Yup focusing on the Dilgar war era to be precise. Also I'll be doing my own touch to them. How many models I do all depends on how much time and inspiration I have.

Interesting, you already made the excellent Hyperions on this site so I know you can do terrific B5 ships. I don't know what game the models will be for, Sins most like, but I definitely would love to see a prettier Nova which would have been in service in the Dilgar War. I would also love to see an Omega some day.

As to the other ships, would you be developing original and fan made designs or going with B5 Wars?

We have our TMP/TLE mod in development as well currently.. Soo although it isn't Yesteryears, it is very similar

Thanks for the update Cpt. Sisko, I definitely look forward to every mod. TLE is an interesting era to see as so little is known from it.

It'll also be great to see the different choices of ships between Yesteryears and your mod. Looking forward to seeing both.

I am all for that idea if you can find the help. :)

Well I have enough models for a complete Federation faction the extras I haven't completed were lined up for Sins.

As for the Klingons I only have ships as half of their units were either only modeled or on the drawing board especially in regards to stations. I'll eventually get around to completing them at somepoint and will release them. When is another matter, I hate uv mapping which is often what slows me down. There is a program that automatically does it I read into a few years ago but for the price I was like yeah nah. lol

They aren't made for any particular game. I am making them with Sins in the back of my mind also with 3d printing in the back of my mind as well. Will be higher poly count that what you'll expect Armada could normally handle, around 7k for frigates probably twice that for cruisers etc. It's really just modelling for the fun of it, some designs with my own touch. I'll probably also try and soon migrate from MS3D to a more advanced modelling software maybe blender. So a big learning curve there.

Well whatever you do release from Yesteryears I'm sure that it will find a home whether in different mods or just personal installations of players, I know I'll use some of those.

I can't imagine the UV process, but to me modeling was just incomprehensible. I tried once to to learn Milkshape...once....

So no matter what it is, I'll gladly scoop up any Feds or Klingons ready for battle.

As for your B5 ships, I look forward to seeing them whatever they are made for. I'll just use my geriatric models and silently glare at the high poly versions you churn out.

Modelling is the easy part for me does take 10-12 hours to model something depending on how complex it is as MS3D doesn't have all the easy tools that other software has. So got to do most stuff the hard way unfortunately.

UV mapping is just tedious and frustrating.

Sad to hear you're finally retiring the old YY girl to pasture, but with every end comes a new beginning.

I still have some of your assets in my drive when I made those screencaps way back. Maybe its time for a few fresh pics for old time's sake. :)

3d modelling can be very fun indeed! And about tools, I remember I was able to add boolean tools to ms3d before the catastrophe, but since I (for some reason) installed the newer version, the boolean tools won't work so there are bits I have to build the long way  , but I can't really complain (yet) .

UV mapping is just tedious and frustrating.

I can feel your pain :lol2:

Yesteryears Federation models are now up in the downloads section. Many years have gone into them so I hope you all enjoy. They're in ms3d format but many have the hardpoints already in them for Armada 2 so are easy to convert.

I can relate to the feeling when our mod grinds to hold due the lack of time. But I still hope that one day you'll find the time to finish it - if you enjoy it doing so.

Hello:
I am sure that, even if the models got released, when you are finally able to return, it will feel totally official

Hey Majest!! The pack is phenominal.. although it does seem as though a couple of the textures are missing or named differently for some of the models... one example is the Starbase.. its looking for the texture name "UFP_Base2B" and there is no such file in the download.. is it possible that its named differently? or just missing. thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'll get back to it one day even if it's just finishing the Klingon models etc. Maybe one day I'll get some assistance in this endeavour who knows.

Yeah it was missing, attached is the texture for the starbase. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Well I just got the Yesteryears fed ships download and was all excited to start modding them into my own mod. Then I opened the folder and found only ms3d files, and no Sod files in sight. :cry2:
This presents a major problem for me, because I have no idea how to convert ms3d files into sods. I don't suppose someone could make sods for these great ship and upload them. :help: Still thanks for all your hard work and great ships Majestic! I hope to be able to play them someday.

Majestic did say in a post above that they would be in MS3D format. Highly doubtful that the pack will be reuploaded in SOD format, as not all of the models are hardpointed. You may have to see who here is willing to hardpoint them and convert them for private sharing.

Your right Cpt. But you see I saw the new Yesteryears files and went straight to downloading them. Didn't read the post until after. And I am looking for someone to hardpoint them and convert them. So if anyone is interested I would be grateful!

Unfortunately after 15+ years on the Armada games I've moved on. I did a retexture on the models that's why they aren't hardpointed but it's very easy to do with ms3d especially considering most still have their hardpoints on the models for FO.

I don't have a lot of time to work on models of late. Only wet rainy days which we've had a few of recently hence why I was able to get the models packed up and uploaded. I still have several Federation designs untextured and never got the Constitution retextured unfortunately so I included the original in the pack so it was included.

I've been restoring and upgrading a 1984 Nissan Patrol. Basically I've turned several vehicles destined for the scrap yard into one mint vehicle.

Sorry it's taken so long but I finally added the completed Klingon ships to the resource section. Same deal as with the Federation models, MS3D format, with png textures, no hardpoints.

I was looking to download the yesteryear models for both federation and klingon, but I can't the link is saying download not available when I go to download it from the link, and says "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action." so how do I go about getting permission to download the yesteryear models, and it seems to be for every "file" I can't download.

Got frusttrated with Cylons so went back and textured a YY shipyard model. Will be released at somepoint soon.

KlingonYard.png

Might try and get a few more ships done as well. All will be released in the resources section. Also this station will appear in @CptBenSisko TLE mod he's making.

Hello:
The shipyards look great! I am sad you are frustrated with the Cylons but I hope the break will help you sort-out their designs.
