I hope you'll get around to finish it. As I am very busy with other projects, I can't offer any help.
But sometimes, it's good to do something else for a change.
I hope you'll resume Yesteryears.

Regards

It's good to see you around again Maj. I hope your 4wd project is going along well.

I know how life has a tendency of interrupting every other second, so you take whatever time you need/want and do your thing at your own pace. If you ever decide to release Yesteryears for A2, then I know there will be plenty of folks around here that will enjoy it. If you decide to move onto Sins, then craft your magic there brother. I look forward to seeing all the pics and vids (My computer is way too old to run Sins, which is why I still play A2 LOL).

Whatever you decide to do, I know I'll be interested in seeing where you take it.

TBH I know how to mod A2 so it probably will still end up on there first. I am hoping in a few months to get back into it and finish up the Federation and Klingon sides. :)

Had a few wet days where I couldn't work on my 4wd so decided to get some texturing and such done. Here is a new Klingon ship the L5 artillery cruiser. An old design she's still in the fleet today serving as a station killer.

With any luck I am hoping to get another model done while this wet weather is here. :)

Good on ya Maj, there's a hint of K'tinga influence throughout the design. And the additional torp launchers just completes the whole package, makes sense really.

Always great to see more of your work Maj. The station killer, heh, I bet that's exactly what the Federation has named this beast. Sure she might be old but then again so is the B-52 and it can wallop just about anything it drops its payload on.

Excellent addition to the Imperial Fleet.

Oh man that looks sweet! It's like a heavyweight Torpedo variant of the Stongtongue class! Nice job Maj!
It's heavily based off that design yes. Many Klingon designs in YY are based off FASA designs.

Here is another.

The K14 is a sister design to the K15 I'rexa. Built and designed together whereas the I'rexa was designed as a frigate, screening and escort vessel (hence the lack of torpedos) the K14 was designed as a traditional destroyer. Both share many components and can produced by the same yards around the Empire.

K14.png

In Yesteryears she serves as the base destroyer, and older but tough design.

Here is the I'rexa for comparison

Maj you really are pretty awesome with Klingon ships!
Hey um, you think you could say try a retexture on my L-13 maybe?

Thanks I think I do alright. Perhaps down the track when I am finishing up my Klingon models I'll be happy to give your model a re-texture. But for now my priority with what limited time I have for modelling/texturing is on YY models. :)

A older model that I forgot to show with the new textures. The G2 is a hero class unit. It's a ship that fits between the destroyers and light cruisers. Essentially has the speed and health of a destroyer with the weapon power of a light cruiser.

I've tried considering ideas like this when it comes to some type of Klingon ship, where the weapons are placed where the nacelles would normally be on a Klingon cruiser-type hull, and my ideas never worked out well. You made this idea work. This looks great!

I can't claim credit for the design. But yes the design does work. I have another similar design that's a light cruiser upcoming soon. Working on it atm.

Looks good Maj, perfect when the situation calls for more firepower than a bird of prey but still needs to be quick enough for a hit and run.

Thanks Archonon my thoughts exactly. :)

Next up the Klingon light cruiser, inspired by the STO design, this design is accredited as the predecessor to the Bird of Prey line. Many served on the Romulan boarder during their wars with the Romulan Star Empire.

And a Klingon fleet update image.

Ah, a fleet shot. Very nice

Any plans of Romulan ships for Yesteryears or is this just meant to be Feds vs KDF?

I do have hopes to do the Gorn, Kzinti and Romulans but since I am doing this on my own I am wanting to finish the Feds and Klingons first and do a release before starting work on the other factions.

I really dig the Light Cruiser, I can imagine two of them flanking a D-7 in formation as support vessels. Love the way the fleet is shaping up, it has some of the largest variety in distinctive designs for Klingon ships I have seen in a mod yet.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing the finished Fed and Klingon sides.

As to other factions, I admit that I don't recall who the Kzinti are, I don't remember them from the movies or shows. With the Gorn, I have generally not liked the designs that they are usually given in other mods; I would prefer the FASA or original designs, so I'm very curious as to what you would do with them. But my biggest interest would be in the Romulans as there are not nearly enough ships and stations represented for them in this era. Really looking forward to seeing what their fleet will look like.

The Kzinti are from the the animated series (though the canon status is very confusing right now). They're humanoid cats that eat people. The Lyrians from Starfleet Command I and II are heavily based on them along with the Mirak from SFC I/II. Though, The Kzinti later became the Tzenkeinti (in the post-nemesis book series) with a few influences making it over to STO. Alson in STO, the Caitian (for Feds) and the Ferasan (for the KDF) are based on the Kzinti.

The Lyrians are pretty much Klingon Cats. They are warlike and use Disruptors for heavy weapons (Per STC). The Mirak use Missiles as their heavy weapon (think like Photon torpedos but small and designed to overwhelm the target). The Tzenkeith (at least in STO) love small unit tactics and hardened shields.

Thanks mate. I am trying to give them a unique feel adapting what I like, such as some FASA designs and STO designs but bring my own touch to them.

I have an idea of how I want the Romulans this time around. They'll be a bit more primitive in their designs (closer to TOS) unlike other mods do however they'll have advanced technology onboard. Too many TMP mods make the Romulans look too close to the TNG style for my particular liking.

The Kzinti are the Mirak from SFC series. They'll be a missile based faction and are planned to work very differently to the other factions. They'll be using the configuration like the Mirak and the S5 ENT design for their ships.

The Caitian are a different species, seen in the animated series onboard the Enterprise. There is some suggestion the two species are related however nothing official has been confirmed. The Caitian was also in Star Trek V as the dancer on Nimbus.

The Gorn I am thinking of adopting the STO style of Gorn ships. I really like them and think they'll fit perfectly for the mod with some of my own changes to them naturally. Plus they are blocky and bulky perfect for my style of modeling. lol

@Adm Alex, thanks for the explanations. I never saw the animated series, so that's why I missed them. From everything you have described, I basically got Star Trek Kilrathi (Boy I miss Wing Commander games).

@Maj I love your concept for the Romulans! Yes, I perfectly agree that they are more often than not interpreted with designs that are way too TNG for the era. I hope these might be gunmetal grey ships then instead of green? I miss the grey color schemes of TOS for the Romulans and I hope to see some terrific warbird paintings underneath the hulls. :D

It's been so long since I played SFC that I might as well not have played it, I don't remember anything from SFC, or Klingon Academy, or Starfleet Academy, or Borg, or any of those OG ST games. I do have some of them, I should see if they still run in my computer and refresh.

I have played very little of STO, I'll check out the Gorn ships and see what they look like. But so far I really like where your ideas are going. This is looking like one helluva swan song for A2, I'm giddy it's a TMP mod too!

Maj, I seem to recall doing a few Romulan meshes for you. Do you want me to trawl through my hdd and dig them out again?

Glad I could help.

Also with the Steam sale, you can get Starfleet Command Gold edition (vanilla game plus all the DLC's that you had to manually find and install) for $10 US Dollars in case you can't get your copy to work.

They also have Starfleet Academy for a good price too.

I am probably going to go with the green, I just think it fits the Romulans better imo. Plus they're more recognised having the green and differentiates them from the TOS era more, especially with the direction I am heading.

Yeah the Gorn designs are one of the great things that came out of STO.

Sure mate. I am pretty sure you sent me the Stormbird which I plan to run as a hero unit.
