At least you did not ask me to sing :p

Maybe Majestic didn't, but I can! ... I mean, I was there when the 12 Colonies burned, I can handle your singing :plan:... or maybe not? :lol2:

In other news, I still need to start watching the series, so I wonder why I am here reading the spoilers?

You know, I've been looking for an opportunity to quote The Major General song in relation to Hellkite for a bit...

Anyway, I like to think that HK's love of flying started young and he rode a pterosaur to school.

See it was only a matter of time Maj. "The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls" the inevitability of Cabal was foreseeable but utterly unavoidable ;)

Dinosaurs? Cable TV?

More like Chocolate Chip cookies, a glass of milk on the Brand new Color TV that was probably the largest furniture in the house....wait I think the console Stereo with Record player and storage draw for all those LP's beat that. Hard to believe we replaced it in 1978...with a Piano...that no one played.

This is what happens when we have a week between episodes. This has gone from the Star Trek Picard thread to the Hellkite is Old thread...

Would posting an image of a beautiful background alien seen in episode 5 count as a spoiler?

Not sure how images in a spoiler tag is gonna work, so sorry if this fails.
We finally get a good view of the Trek Twilek (TwiTrek?) So much potential for this guy, kinda sucks he's just a background character, but then again, that leaves that potential open for the fans.Real Tailhead.png

They definitely made a good comeback with this episode. I loved the interaction between Picard and Hugh, though it did seem a little unrealistically friendly (unless Hugh and Picard were still in contact after Descent).

I'm really not sure what to think about the Borg having a spatial trajector. Prime Factors mentioned that the technology only worked in orbit of Sikaris, so how it can suddenly be operational on a Borg ship in the Beta Quadrant is a little iffy. I guess you can explain it as needing a lot of power (Hugh does say it takes a while to charge back up, and we're talking about a Borg cube), which would also explain why it's reserved for the Queen, and why the trajector isn't used by the Borg en-masse like an Iconian gateway.

Somehow I didn't realize how different the interior of the Borg cube was until I saw the wall panels moving. I know the Borg have evolved along with special effects, but I'm just not sure about these particular changes.

Voyager discover that the technology relies on the massive crystalline mantle of the planet as an amplifier, and once they depart, the trajector will be useless. for them if they departed orbit. The borg could have found a way to amplify without massive crystalline mantle of the planet . this could be the reason it took time to power up.

They really did improve this episode it was a much more enjoyable episode. This really started to speed up here. I have to say I do love the many connections with Voyager.

Unfortunately, i still don't see any quality in this canon&character breaking show... Sure, i loved that cameo from the episode 6 and TOS era bird of prey from episode 4, but character&writing atrocities from the episode 5 still haunt me. Of course, if someone enjoys this show, i am glad they do. I am just such a big fan of Jean Luc Picard from TNG and i am sad to see so many writers that don't know how to treat that character with respect and don't know how to make good storytelling in terms of pace and canon respect. Kurtzmann(and Abrams) style of giving some easter eggs and glorified cameos are not very trekish. I understand that Trek needs to evolve for modern era, but this is not the way. Picard so far is like 6 episodes of TROS Palpatine saying "The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.". Ok, we get it, stop with bad hommages to the original and make something new and exciting. But, still, if somebody likes this show, i respect it, i am not here to judge that, i am just expressing my sadness over wasted potential in "Picard".

Croatian Klingon, please keep in mind that when this series was announced, it was reported that the only way Patrick Steward would return was if he was in the writing room to offer insight to the character and story. Really makes one wonder how much who is responsible for what.

He (Steward) organized another meeting with them in March 2018, where he expressed his approval of their pitch. While deciding whether to join the project, Stewart asked Kurtzman that the series be "so different" from previous Star Trek stories, "both what people remember but also not what they're expecting at all, otherwise why do it?"He was also concerned that the series would be "jokey", but received assurances from the project's creative team that it would not be.

Kurtzman said the mandate for the series was to make it "a more psychological show, a character study about this man in his emeritus years", and noted that it was rare for a television series to star an older actor like Stewart. In the series, the character must find his way back to Roddenberry's original optimistic vision for the franchise, which Kurtzman hoped would reinforce that original vision while allowing the character to "go through deep valleys".

Careful that you keep in mind of the height of that pedestal . Our Croatian friend

Put someone on a pedestal. To believe or behave as if someone or something is perfect, extraordinarily wonderful, or better than others, to the extent that one is unable to see its potential flaws or faults.

Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. makes my point best so I will quote it

To remind you that all humans make mistakes, and that all leaders are but human.

Still somewhat addicted to the story, but I tend to dismiss any real connection to Star Trek, or TNG for that matter. It is obvious this version is totally nihilist and lacks any concept of an appreciation of life. The Body count is 33, the empty bottle booze count is 2, and I lost count of the unnecessary dialogue count. Yet like crack, I'm addicted to the story like Rafi can't put down that Vape.

I thought the woman who played Oh looked familiar. Tamlyn Tomita originally played the first officer on Babylon 5 (during the first movie) but left the show before it began because she wasn't comfortable playing a military officer...

And now, for Episode 7:
In my opinion this one's a bit of a mixed bag. I was afraid they were going to kill off Hugh at some point, though not entirely surprised.

The meat of the episode was Picard's reunion with Riker and Troi and their daughter, Kestra (a good homage to Troi's deceased older sister, less fan-servicey than Tasha would have been.) The best way I can describe my feelings toward it are with an analogy. It's like eating a meal that takes care of your hunger, tastes decent, but doesn't quite hit the spot. It feels like something was missing from this whole reunion, though I can't put my finger on what. I'd like to think it wasn't the rest of the TNG crew, but it could have been.

I'm not entirely thrilled about Raffi's implied default to offer Jurati drugs/booze/whatever to help her feel better. I understand it's sort of part of Raffi's character, but I'm honestly not sure. On the one hand, I thought Raffi's drug habit was formed after losing her security clearance and her paranoia-filled fallout, which would suggest drug use is not something she would casually suggest, considering the very fresh emotional wound she still has from her reunion with her son on Freecloud. But now, with her seemingly wanting to offer Jurati a substance-fueled escape (combined with her "home cooking" comment before Rios beamed down to Freecloud) makes it sound like she's a more casual drug user. It just...doesn't feel right to me, especially for a former (and seemingly important) Starfleet officer.

The preview for the next episode looks like the mega reveal of everything behind the curtain. It also looks like Airiam might make an appearance...

And here's my biggest complaint:

You're a Vulcan Starfleet Commodore. FIX YOUR RANK INSIGNIA!!!!!!!!! Or put it on before the sunglasses!

I have no idea how to put those Spoilers in a Post, so I will just say this.

I have no hope that Star Trek exists anymore. Once again they have Changed Characters to be totally opposites of who, and what they are. And the addiction to this series is gone. I'm tapping out.

I'm tapping out.

That's...what, the second, third time now?

In case you come back, a spoiler tag is pretty easy. You can use a quotation tag as a template. Click the "reply" button on another post. Change the word "QUOTE" to "spoiler". Place the title of your spoiler in the quotation marks after the equals sign. Place the body of your spoiler between the two spoiler tags.

Sorry, I must write, I must, I can't, ah:
Hugh's death was unnecessary and very simple, just to make Cersei Romuladin seem childish, evil. The year 2020 and the authors write characters as walking clichés or comic villains.

- The Rikers live in a log cabin in the woods and are militarily up to date. Reminds me of certain people in the USA who hunt rabbits with an M16 and prepare for day X.

- Silicon virus, um, what should that tell us, positronic matrix no longer exists, because the synths (but a racist term that Peekard himself uses) are banned, is the meaning, that the Federation has experimented with conscious, somewhat underdeveloped F8 androids, Mengele Style?

- Chabon and Kurtzman again have no idea about Star Trek. Peekard can not deal with children, adolescents, he has not had decades of family experience (sarcasm off), I am talking about the wonderful episode "The inner light", where he had children and grandchildren.

She has a certain nod, yes, of course, she is Data's daughter?!?! Is just like that stupid, like determine the location of the planet via two moons, god damn. It could be 10 moons, behind the horizon. the red colour could be through the atmosphere e.c. By the wy this cloning Dren is absolutly nonsense in many ways. And the Tyken Rift is a Anomaly not a star system

The chase in Space. Um, I brake before Narek register anything, are we light years away, I laughed so hard. Mr Chabon they have sensors that somehow work with subspace and therefore are not limited in speed of light, there is hardly any delay between the event and the measurement of the event.

Then we portrayed Picard again as a complete asshole. Yes Soji we want to torture and cut you open and do other ugly things with you. Uh, uh, ok

How can it be that the child Kestra is the only cuddly, lovable, intelligent (emotional) character in the series so far, apart from number 1

And we have the hint that Peekard will be linked to Disco and this Controll shitty Storyarc from Season 2, if someone has already seen the trailer of the next episode, it will probably amount to this. It sucks, but fits if you calculate a little "hust", Disco + Picard = Discard (I stole it)

This is just fan service, boring and unmotivated with a story which are loveless cobbled together I have to watch Babylon 5 again, the guy JMS was able to write story arcs and this in the 90s!
I have many more, but for this time, it's enough, I think. And if you have fun on this show, super, I am happy for you.
