If you're not thinking of going pro, you should be. There are a great many game companies who would pay very well for work of this quality.

Bleh I am humbled, and as I say I don't know how to respond to these sorts of things.

I would like to work in the game industry, I suppose I've yet to be recognized yet though :cry2: . I've also had a few looks on the inner workings of larger companies and I don't like how most are run I guess (the worst culprit being Nintendo). Individuality is usually lost among big game teams and you end up being a cog in a machine :naughty:. If anything I'd rather go indie.

Hello:
That is true, so if you don't like that option, then it might be other options. Ithink your work on your mod is outstanding, all of the planning, coding 3d and 2d works are beautiful, specially since it looks like you are really enjoying it and working them at your own pace, and that is something you don't have in big companies, specially when you have a deadline to have all works done.

But maybe you can fulfill those deadlines, but I suppose that is one of the things you must ask your pillow every now and then.

Keep up the amazing job!

Was holding out on putting this up on youtube, but I thought I might as well load it up for Christmas:

A polished version of Sigma will all five races and their leaders should be ready in just a bit over a week or two, and I guess those on MSFC get to hear about it early.

Looks outstanding, I can't wait till I see the download link to upload to MSFC. Sigma is one of the best mods I have seen in recent years and I look forward to the polished version. :)

Thank you all . And an obligatory Merry Christmas to everyone as well:excited:
I'm aiming to have it done by New Years day since I only have to work on Ekoset stuff now, but balance testing might take a little while longer depending on how busy Dominus and company are.

In the meantime, I uploaded some of the music from Sigma on youtube. I'll post a link to the composer's website with prior permission naturally.

Hello:
The videos are amazing, so is the music. I cannot believe all the work that has been put into making this mod.

Undying_Nephalim, I hope Sigma will turn out as good, or better, than you ever expected it to be:thumbsup:.

Thank you kindly, I do hope it does get off the ground. At the very least, I hope it makes a multiplayer community much like what FO has done. That would be more then enough payoff.

Another screeny to show in the meantime. One of the Mylock leaders can summon this giant beast:

Hello:
That sure is a giant beast . Imagine all the power within that structure. It looks very good, I like the hull patterns.

Can I blow it up with my fellow 8472? we will just make a small swarming fleet of battleships :lol2:.

Keep it up!.

Hehe... despite it's size this particular Mylock ship is more psychological then practical. It's mainly a siege ship so with enough distance and small ships it can be brought down easily.

As far as power goes, here's the beast we should all be afraid of:

So what would be really scary would be if you had one and captured the other, right? This game just keeps looking better, and once my new graphics card gets here, I'll finally be able to experience it's true beauty without insane slowdowns.

Aye, I've just been using the Generic Race one that comes with FO. I've not gotten around to some tooltips yet either (I only just added in this giant unit to the game today after all  )

Good god, scary!

BTW, who's doing the weapon textures for Sigma? I noticed one or two issues with those. You might want to check the partitioning of your weapon sprites, seems like sprite parts overlap the frame borders. Can look ****py, but is easily fixed.

Yeah... I hate FO tooltips... Sure they look cool in the end, but it was so much easier to just write a sentence in the odf and be done with it.:(

Hello:
FO modding can be very tricky indeed, I haven't done any modding there at all, but I have been checking those files and I am like .

And holy frak! that sure is a gigantic unit, I hope I won't have to battle against it... unless I have my 8472 battleship with me :D.

Keep it up!

I sorta noticed that now that it was pointed out.... it's harder to notice in motion since it only seems to be one or two of the frames.

Hehe, it may be giant but I don't think I have any plans to top a fully upgraded Ekoset base. Thank goodness it's stationary...

Hello:
A station that huge is only comparable to what I imagine could be a Borg Unimatrix :D .

I really would need a huge fleet to attempt to take on that station... unless I can come up with a more unorthodox strategy for that .

Keep it up!

Hehe it does take quite a bit of work to bring down for sure. I got the Ekoset AI to work a night ago and tried fighting them as the V.R.A... It took quite a long time to push through their fleet and make it to the base.

picture.php

Numbers of smaller ships seem to be the key against them so far, and surprisingly artillery is not as effective as I thought against them.

picture.php

Ultimately I just focused my fire on the core. Of a fleet of about 78 ships I was able to take it down. I think I only lost about a dozen to the base.

Hello:
I agree, attacking in numbers is good against huge stations, specially if you have many smaller ships that can screen the enemy fire from the bigger ships while delivering some damage on their own. But I guess to prepare for that battle was not easy, specially if you have to defeat the enemy's fleet before you can get close to that base :naughty:.
