I can totally understand you want something unique and something you, something you've done yourself, I too am that way. You can take pride in your work, much more than using someone else's work.

Looking good by the way, your sure have the Federation bug atm. :lol2:

Fair enough man, registries are always one the most difficult and tedious parts in texturing. It helps when you add some space between the letters. I've also noticed that really large fonts makes the ship look small.

I don't think moving the red lines is necessary, maybe just the font size. I got a good balance of the two.

Thanks in this case think of it as a tribute of sorts. If Jet's tweaked textures weren't already the best out I wouldn't have made them the foundation of this project;)

Continued working the textures. Have pics for all the regular Excelsiors. It has not been easy. You know there is next to no good pics of the model's top. On top of that when they relabled the model for the sale the labed it wrong:rolleyes: I think I have goten as close as possible with this model.

I would also like to note the Jakarta. I took a couple of liberties when rolling out this texture. I liked the idea of a late run model but really thought she should look different then the DW refits like Hood. So I did up the torps like Jet had but did a smaller blue line on the Necelles and a early TNG insignia instead of a late TNG one.

C&C please

Yeah, that was the basic idea behind the late model Excelsiors. I remember seeing a newly built Excelsior in the Fleet Yard scene in Voyager so I got the inspiration there.

I can understand the conflicting references man They are really annoying and sometimes they don't match up with one another. So best settle for a compromise eh?

It was a great idea and shows just how important Excelsiors are to Starfleet even in the 2380's

Forchantly pics of Lakota are alot easier to come by:thumbsup:

Here we have the Mk2 Excelsiors more commonly refered to as a refit. Personall I like to think of them as the Command Battlecruiser version of Excelsior with the extra impulse engines and the added power and speed that adds. It also helps to explain the apairant rareness of this hull type. The first 3 ships are the standards, Enterprise, Lakota, and the late run Forester. Then We have Tyho; a color variation produced at the Antares Naval Yards.

Lastly is my take on a Ingraham; the second SCS from the Excelsior program. Originally conceved by Todd Gunther as an alternate transwarp prototype. I have taken the idea and attempted to create a prototype for the Mk2 hull. The idea is that the Mk1 would be exploration hulls and the Mk2s would be Battlecruisers. In the wake of the failure of the Transwarp Drive and the "reorganisation" of StarFleet after the Khitomer Accords the Mk2 hull was radicaly altered to the form we know as Enterprise B and Lakota. What you all think?

They look like quite the bargain man, excellent set of Refits. I'm not so sure about the neck section of the Ingram Refit though, why is it facing the opposite direction? It kinda wrecks the ship's sense of direction to be honest.

I have a very serious problem. A viruse attacked my PC and started a cascade failure of all the Drivers in the OS. I went back to reinstall windows after cleaning all the viruse off the HD and now my windows won't recognise its its own product code. MS says that this means its a pirated copy and I need to buy a new copy of windows so my PC is without an OS. Buying windows right now is not an opption so does anyone have any ideas?:(

I would install linux for the time being. There are several good distros out there, one of which Cabal uses I think, so he could probably tell you more.

These look really good.

What do you mean expanding them? As in clicking the next button when you left click on a attachment? Try loading them in a new tab first. It's what I do. But also the site is falling apart and really needs a upgrade in the forum software as it's 2 years out of date. I am just got so many bills and expenses hitting me I can't do squat at the moment.

Thanks I can right click and open them fine but the left click option seams to be off line. Since my new setup is running IE8 I figured I have somthing set wrong.

These are looking great.

How are you doing the registries? Are you having a different saucer texture for each unit or doing it the Star Trek Legacy way? It's it's the former you can actually make the Legacy version work in Armada II. I have done it with some ENT era models and the FO guys are improving upon this in an upcoming patch so it can be done on mass build units.

Right now each ship is a unique SOD, texture set, and odf. But thats because I actuall intend for you all to use them like hero ships for maps or one off gaming sessions and new campains if that mission editor is ever completed.

That's fair enough the only advantage of the way I now do it is that you can cut down the amount of textures and size of the download. But you need some knowledge with MS3D or other program in the may of mesh and texture application methods.
