Yeah, the NCC-2848 was updated to NCC-78702 due to the updates going on in Starfleet's ranks. Indeed, the new TNG Wyvern was still the same hull but she was given a new registry to reflect her fully updated status. Remember that she had more upgrades compared to other Mirandas or Excelsiors.

I also see it as a matter of differentiation. The old reg was her number during her original service life (2286-2295) and the new one is for (2373-present).

I even have a full fleet inventory added in too. :)

Love that timeline btw, pretty well thought out.

That makes since. Essentially she was so overhulled as to be reborn; hence the new number. Thanks on the list.

Ok public imput time. Got 3 questions here and I need a wider sample then just Jet and Mejestic.

1 When I do the physics do you guys want TMP/KA style physics or faster DS9/Voyager style?

2 Weapons effects- a number of the ships will actually fall outside of the TMP area but are being included as a means of completly representing the class. Do you want all TMP movie style effects or for the ships to have effects appropreate to the shows of there time period?

Of the classes I have shown that will be in the pack are there any hero named and regestried textures anyone would like?

For what it's worth, I'd rather see KA-style physics and era-specific weapons, unless they're up-gunned versions of their type. I also rarely, if ever, use hero ships beyond a very select few. Although if you were to do a new version of USS Repulse I'd be very happy. One of my favourite Trek novels growing up was "Vendetta", in which that ship plays a major role. Purely selfish reasons.

Ummm actualy Yes there is, and if i may choose my class:excited::

Damaged Centuar(Apollo By your Standards) Class
Name: USS Paradox
Registry: NCX (For standard Chassis, but expermental Systems) 72369

Just for fun: Can you include another version of it, and remove the left nacel and damageize it to look like its been blasted off, and also make the saucer look burrned out and destoryed, if its too much woork, i can live without. i'd be cool to have a hulk version of it though.

i do hope this is what your looking for, and i hope i'm not being demanding, or come across as i'm taking advantage of this.

Thx

K let me get this straight you want the Paradox to be all burned and scored up to start with? I have never done a real wreck before. We will see what time permits; but I make no promises on the hulk. Might have to call Jet for some help with the textures.

Any body else?

indeed, i already am making plans for some varriation of the ship, and its the start of an incedent with the breen, and thus blasted to pieces whan she's found, her regestry alludes to why she was picked off to start with

and the hulk was just a free time, only if your feeling really up to it, thing and its not really needed. its more of luxury.

Connie fever is definitely setting in. ;)

I have my vote on KA style physics and weapons too. I recall Roddenberry say that he wanted the ships of the time to move like Galleons instead of the highly mobile physics shown in the TNG flicks.

As for weapons, we already have a basic set with my TMP Phaser: MSFC

Yeah, the NCC-2848 was updated to NCC-78702 due to the updates going on in Starfleet's ranks. Indeed, the new TNG Wyvern was still the same hull but she was given a new registry to reflect her fully updated status. Remember that she had more upgrades compared to other Mirandas or Excelsiors.

I also see it as a matter of differentiation. The old reg was her number during her original service life (2286-2295) and the new one is for (2373-present).

I even have a full fleet inventory added in too. :)

It's a common misinterpretation of the system that ships can get new registires. That's not true! Once a ship got a registry it has to bear it until it's s****ped or destroyed. Even if the ship goes into mothball and then gets and extensive upgrade a few decades later, it keeps its name and registry number (at least in Starfleet). The only way is a "ship" can get a new registry if it is s****ped and its parts are reused in a brand new ship with (usually) new name. "Parts" can mean the whole saucer section though.
A registry number doesn't represent the service time nor the rank of the ship. The only thing you can tell from a ships registry number is when the ships construction started.
Except of course if a ship uses -A -B -C etc. suffixes :)

A compromise could be that you say that the ship was removed from Starfleet. It was destined to be s****ped or to go to the junkyard, but for some unknown reason it wasn't decommissioned. However, Starfleet considered the ship to be "non existent" any more and so when they discovered it, they used it for an experimental ship and so they reenlisted it that would be a good reason for a new registry number :)

What Jet is saying and I concure is that the refit ended up bing so exstinsive there is nothing of the original ship but the frame. Think of it as a hot rod not a restoration:thumbsup:

Cool story bro.

But here is a fatal flaw in this unnecessary correction. It's all useless long winded and overly nitpicky conjecture in the end. So nobody is actually "right". I'm entitled to my own interpretation of the Wyvern's service life and other elaborate details. She's my project.

By the way Starfox, can you also take a request for another kitbash? If you're free, I have some designs I'd like to see in A2.

Hell yeah! Very nice detail work on the sub-variants, love those little additions here and there.

I was hoping that you could take a shot at doing the Abbe Torp cruiser. Any thoughts?

I'll let you know by Monday that Saucer mounted deflector is something I've never tried. If I can get her bashed in the alloted time I'll include her in this set.

More pics for you all. Please keep the comments coming:thumbsup:

I myself did a Abbe not all that long ago, but I left the deflector off, mainly for the simply reason that the Abbe, Miranda and many other TMP era designs don't have one either. Plus it looks better without one.

Good work on the models, I'm curious are you planning on doing any other ships that aren't Federation or Star Trek? Just curious.

I can go both ways for the Abbe to be honest. Maybe the deflector was just an afterthought?

Btw, is the USS Maat a normal Connie Refit? Can't seem to find some key differences on the hull except for some cosmetic changes.

This pack will contain Fed, Klingon, and Romulan ships. After I get done here I'm going back and finishing the ISD I started. After that who knows:D

USS Maat comes from the Franze Joseph list. When I calculated out the construction schedual I found hulls 1780-1799 could not be started before June 2270. This ment that both the Constitution II and Enterprise refit projects where fully underway. So rather then build the 20 hulls to the less capable Block 3c spec they where divide between the Constitution and Enterprise refits making USS Maat 1 of only 10 new build Block 5 hulls.

I'm suprised no one noticed the USS Doohan While I wouldn't expect anyone outside of the US to get the significants of the hull number I figured the name would stand out.;)
