Are those firing arcs? First I thought she'll launch Vipers from those HPs... But it's even better that way, I can't wait to see her ingame

Yeah, I've decided I need to, yet again re-work how my weapons work, so I"m going back and re-hardpointing at least the mercury and the cygnus...maybe the valkyrie, with hardpoints that are in the exact places the turrets should be, pointing in the direction they should be, and I"m gonna give them firing arc's of around 180-45 degrees, depending on where they are. I didn't like how all 30 cannons fired at once, right through the ship, so now they will only fire if they are actually pointed in the right direction.

Thankfully, this doesn't limit the amount of damage I can deal in FO, because I can have the weapons automatically target the closest enemy. So if they can't fire at my current target, or another target is closer, they will fire at it instead. Then, combat is a matter of Pathing a circle around an enemy, focusing your fighters where they need to be, and Micro-ing FTL to make sure your ship don't get blow'd up.:D

I must mention that I can only do this because Majestic took the time to explain the process of turning hardpoints to me, and that he will be receiving these models before they are even in my mod.(once they are finished of course)

You're welcome, just glad to help out a fellow modder and a friend.

Also with the canons and how you've added firing arcs. You mentioned you don't like how they all fire at once? Might I suggest you do what I have been doing in YY, and that is give them different shot delays, at way the ship is like always firing but with different cannons and weapons. If nothing else it's some great eye candy. You see this a little in COE when we finish up the work on her. :)

I agree with Maj, use different delays for the weapons and it'll look much better. It's also what Achilles did in AoW, to make all of those pulse phasers look moar random.

Hello:
Hardpoint rotations is such useful thing to have ingame, specially for ventings and hull damages. But also for notmal hardpoints, specially for weapons.

When I hardpointed the battlestars I have, I didn't consider rotating them a it would be madness (Pegasus having 30 turrets, Valkyrie like 40) but I might do that when I finish my Terrapshere and some requestes I got from a friend.

Keep it up!

Ah yes, FO allows you to use multiple different delays for a single weapon, and I have two sets, so it looks pretty cool when they all fire at different times.

Thanks everyone.

Started working on the GK 'prise. Because I liked a certain version, I am modifying the textures before I put her ingame with glows and such. Here is the shot I am working with.

star_trek_poster.jpg

And here are shots of my current textures. The redish lighting makes it a bit hard to see, but they are heavily modified. The most distinct modification is the buzzard collectors. They were made from other actual shots taken of the original model.

Though not a fan of this incarnation, it is an astounding model and Adm Z you have done yourself and others proud doing a quality rework and porting into FO

Alright, so this one isn't one of mine, but as some of you may know, a new FO patch was just released and it came with a lot of goodies, especially for the feds. If you don't want to know what is in it, don't hit this spoiler tag. If you are dying to know, have a look.:Y

Alright, so atm, I count 4 new warpin ships. the first being the centuar, second a 4 naclled nebula. the third is a suprise, being the Rhode Island class, but not as big a suprise as the fourth.
FOScreenShot_110425_105056.png

The fourth you can see in the middle. It is called the Teutoburg Class. She is probably my new favorite FO ship. She appears to be a cross between a dawnstar and a luna class...but with teeth. See the last pic to undersatand what I"m talking about. the Devs created as new weapons range beyond artillary that she uses. Nothing but torpedos coming from this thing, and there is an ungodly number of them. It is awesome.

Yeah... It is Very STO, but i like it alot.:)

There is also a new model addition I am going to play with. It turns out that the Devs are working on the typhoon class! Tyler found the model in the sod folder but it is not ingame yet. It has dummy textures, but the model is outstanding! i think I might have a crack at applying the originals just to see a preview of what the devs might do.:excited:

Yeah to be honest the new fed ship is a little too STO for me, but to each their own...

Now the new Romulan models are gorgeous, really excellent work by the team there.

Finally an authentic Centaur for Armada II with the forward shuttlebay. I think I'll borrow it for my mod ^^

The new design is definitely STO-ish, but it's a good design. I don't mind STO's style, I just dislike their ship designs. This one is great, I haven't played the Feds for ages - must give the new ships a try.

Yup, the Typhoon will be another rare warp-in - Doca's actually working on that one :)

The Teutoburg is Zeich's baby

Hey Dom, could up update your flag please, I've send PMs, emails and made a thread about it.

Thanks for the update Adm_Z I didn't even know about the new patch out, thanks for the heads up, I'm downloading it now. IS the Typhoon you talking about the same one as seen in that old Playstation game?

Yep, it is. And it is darn purty too. I can't wait to see it with FO textures, glows and bumpmaps:yum:

...but then again, who knows how long that will take.:silence:

Hehe, I actually never put my flags in there in the first place  I'm a dual citizen and don't know what to choose

Btw folks, be sure to adjust your Warp-In files :). Doca made the system a bit more intuitive, and it sheds the number of ODFs needed per ship by 2
