• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well it's a good thing you're going back to the releases mate. I still have the publicity screenshots you wanted btw. As I said they're 80% done. I still need the updated Solaria meshes to make them complete though.

Im sorry to read that you are having bad flu. I hope you get all better real soon. Im also glad to read that "PRP" is not dead. Allthough I understand your shift away from it and A2 I think that whatever unreleased content that is complete would deserve to be released. I say that because despite what some people say I find your work quite good. It is always a shame when good work goes to waste so I am also glad that you will release what you have complete.

From reading the other threads of your projects I gather you are getting sick with A2. Maybe you will just take a break from it, maybe you will be done with it. Maybe sick isnt the right word. But in anycase I wish you luck to whatever you move to. In the short time that I have been a member of this community I have seen determination and diligence in whatever you have done. With that being said we all have to move on at some point right?

Well I will reinterate my get well wishes to you and thank you for the work you have done and released for the PRP as it was a thrill and pleasure to benefit from the outstanding work you have done.

Thanks, it's always nice to see people like what I do and appreciate it. There isn't enough of that in communities these days as many new comers usually take it all for granted and come to expect it, not realising the amount of time and effort put into these works that the various members of the community release.

Yeah this flu thing is nasty, I might have to go and see a doctor as my usual one I can't get an appointment for well over a week away.

Thanks, just send me what you got. The Solaria and Mercury are still not complete so no point sending them yet.

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well, hope you get better soon mate.

I'm glad to hear that some of the work mentioned in this thread will be released, it'd be a shame if it just sat on a HDD somewhere after all the hard work you put into it.

Also glad to hear you'll still be around even if you are moving away from modding A2.

Flu. Ugh. Nasty stuff. Hope you get better soon.

Like what I saw of Solaria and I really hope she's included in the releases. As to being discouraged about things, it is easy to get this way when people seem unappreciative of what you do. I understand this sentiment completely. Might not be a bad idea at all to let the A2 stuff slide for a bit. Come back to it only when or if you feel ready. Lord knows it seems to have caused far too much anguish and aggravation for you over the years.

Go do something for a new game, please. Dive off into it fully. Play it to your heart's content and try to recapture the joy of why you mod and play games. If modding becomes exasperating and tiresome, then it serves no positive purpose any longer. We mod and play games for fun. To escape from the cares and worries of real life. When such is not possible to do, then it is long past time to move on.

I pulled A2 off my HDD and deleted all my mods for it. I have been playing some of the other games I have installed and visiting websites for them as well. No politiking. No nitpicking. No lack of gratitude for all one's hard work. How refreshing. I think it would do you some good to go hog wild over Internet Checkers, Animal Crossing(Which totally rrocks, BTW) or something else for awhile.

If modding a game stops being fun, then you really should stop doing it. At once.

i agree with TF (again) once a game becomes tiresome just move on...you'll be back. Maybe not within a for weeks or months but eventually you'll jump back in and start messing around again...always happens. I myself have removed STA2 from my HDD just cause i'me done modding for now. STA1 is still on there (prolly always will be my first true modded game and fun to mod, dont ask too long o explain lol) For right now its strictly Modeling, after im done with HFC im gonna uninstall A2 again (need to test these puppies out first lol) and probably disappear from the fourms (here and A2F) for a bit, like you my modding push has died and i need a break.

There are many great games out there just need ta' look. Hope you find some great ones.

And i hope to see Parallels released in all its glory.

GJ mate

Thank you all, I am however determined to get the last few projects I have completed, especially the Cardassians of COE and the first part of Yesteryears. Once that is complete I will give A2 a good deserved rest while I work on maybe SW EAW, or some other game or I might just model for the fun of it.

It's been a while but I have finally gotten something done here. The Olympia class up for download.

MSFC - Olympia Class PRP Download

I know it's missing a wireframe and build button. I'll add those to the next BSG PRP file.

I hope you all enjoy. :)

I know exactly how you feel... I kind lost the will to mod too... It just sucks not having my own PC... I know I'll feel differently once I get my new lappy after christmas though... And I really appreciate that your holding out untill you do the HPing for HFC - alot of guys would have just ditched the project and gone off the radar... much appreciated!

You know, I found SW EAW + FOC for 59kroner (about £5 GBP) in Oslo? I might join you, if its that cheap, and the game is really so good?

It's a step up on A2 because it incorporates galactic-level map control as well as planet-side tactical battles and raids, along with a number of nice little touches --especially with FoC. However, I found that things got a little repetitive after a while. Yeah, okay, so it was many, many hours of continuous play before that happened.... it's hard to be objective about a game set in the Star Wars universe.

Thank you Intrepid and Dan for the feedback, boy did it take a huge amount of texturing patience. But in the end I think it will be worth it as many of you will reap endless amount of hours having it in your BSG fleets. :)

Yeah I am still looking for a cheap FOC, it's sad as the original game is a lot cheaper than the expansion.

However I've been playing a lot of EAW recently and I could quite possibly be my next game if I do have a next one.

Right now I am playing around with modelling and finishing off COE. :)

Hello all, I am writing this to see if anyone can do the following for me:

  • Admiral Log Pics
  • Screenshots

As I have two files ready for upload but need these done as Windows is not letting me play A2 at this time, it keeps crashing.

If anyone can help please PM me asap. As I would like to get these files done asap and up for the members here.

Thanks.

Scheduled to be released soon:

  • Solaria Battlestar v2
  • Mercury Battlestar v2
  • Defender Strikestar
  • Cygnus Gunstar
  • Sagittarius Missile Frigate

I have just released v1.1 of the Hyperion and Midwinter class bruisers from Babylon 5, they are in a pack this time as it's only an update on their lighting.

Thanks the Defender and Sagittarius have recently been released. Check out the downloads section if you haven't already.

Also the Titan, Solaria v2 and Mercury v2 should be released sometime in the next week. I also have to do some more work to the Cygnus but that too will also be released, hopefully not too long after the others.

I'm basically releasing as much content as possible, getting it all out of the way (ie, off of my to-do list) and out to the public.

Well here is the Cygnus class available now in the downloads section.

C&CC is welcome both on this and the previous Mercury class.

Next up will be the Titan Firestar followed by the Valkyrie Battlestar. It's my intention and drive to get the remaining BSG ships completed and out to you all as well as getting them done in time for Thunderfoot's BSG Mod that is due to be released at the end of this month.

C&CC is wanted and welcome.

Thanks for the C&CC Dan and Terra, I appreciate it. :)

Come on everyone else whom has downloaded it, any suggestions? Feedback, aye even suggestions on future BSG models I could make and release for the A2 Community?

Not that I would make them just yet. I have a few other community related things I want to get done first. Which includes a few requests for friends.

Oh and I do plan to make the Prometheus class Battlestar a little later from the Fan fiction Battlestar Prometheus.

Well here is one of the final ships that were on my list to complete for the PRP currently.

The Titan class Colonial Firestar is now completed and uploaded.

C&CC wanted. Enjoy! :D

I had a little bit of problems with it. Only parts were showing up for it, I need to do a re-hardpoint something that is on my to-do list I haven't forgotten about it but I gave it a break as it was getting a little frustrating.
