• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Sounds like that's good news then, considering the 25% of the unit remains now. :)

Very good news. Unfortunately I injured my back. Not sure how either. The doctor gave me some strong pain killers and heating pads but neither is doing any good. Atleast I am not on profile. So if the unit needs me to work I still can. It only hurts to move....or not move....its all good.

My back is feeling better. I can now move around without any pain. Ofcourse, I still can not lift to much. The work environment improved almost overnight with the change of command. The schedule is returning to what it was. Only approx 41 more days till I am home on R&R. :excited::excited:

Hellkite, what is the status on that care package? Before you resend it I will make sure you have the proper address again...lol

I am glad both issues resolved. :)

One question: When being deployed, does the command authority make any differences between National Guard and regular Army forces?

I believe the chain of command is the same. Is that what you mean? Deployed it is the same army.

Heh really? Is that a military wide change? I had always considered the m4 to be a submachine gun as apposed to a full combat rifle like the m-16 or the ak series.

colt-m4-05-cqbr.jpg

M16A2 is on the top the M4 is on the bottom

The Colt M4 carbine basically it is a shortened M16A2 assault rifle with a telescopic buttstock.

Description and Specifications

The M4/M4A1 5.56 mm Carbine is a gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed, selective fire, shoulder-fired weapon with a telescoping stock. A shortened variant of the M16A2 rifle with a 36 cm barrel, the M4 provides the individual soldier operating in close quarters the capability to engage targets at extended range with accurate, lethal fire. The original M4 Carbine has semi-automatic and three-round burst fire modes, while the M4A1 has “semi†and “full autoâ€, with no three-round burst.

You get a full M4 or a M4 CQBR?

@Hellkite

I think both of those are M4s man. I think the M16 has a longer hand gaurd and barrel.

the only m-16 I have seen with a rail system was the A4.
my M-4 has the burst option and instead of a handle it has a scope.

Intresting. I must have been mixing it up with another small machine gun(which probably was a sub-machine gun:sweat:) Good to know.

Odd I remember the Knight rails on a M16 being longer. Must just be in the DMR and SPR rifles.

The M16A4 rifle was standard issue for the United States armed forces in early phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom ; it replaced the M16A2 in front line units

This unit amazes me every day. I lost my day off b/c we have a soldier that keeps trying to get out of the deployment and until he gets back this time someone has to cover his shift...out of the 4 lower enlisted available I am the only one who has passed the pt test. The other 3 have 30 min of pt in the morning. So, I get tasked with working the entire day again and they get the day off....I can not wait to get out of this unit....LOL

I understand that. I just know i am not going to really see anything out of it, like a promotion, b/c the unit is so screwed up that it is more likely to downpour rain in the middle of July here....

There is no civilian organization more in dear to my heart and embodies America more than the U.S.O and not finnier group than I have ever seen , Without wearing a uniform.
