• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well, I find those dry soap chips to wash your hands and face are useful, but for emergency, a spare set of AA btteries could save your life.

MiGawd! I still have nightmares about MRE's. What they said about the cheese in them is all true.

I have it set up mostly. Still trying to get a few things. I have set up a wireless network here though, with some assistance from Syf. Some of my NCO's and officers told me it was impossible....LOL. They just didn't know a network expert like Syf during thier last deployment.

I am currently in Germany. I was chosen as a battle buddy for a soldier having issues. So, I will be here for a few days atleast before returning to the litter box.

Well, looks like my duties here are done. Now it is a matter of waiting for transportation to make my way back to my unit.

Unfortunately I am return to the unit alone. The soldier I brought is on his way home and not sure if he will return for the deployment. So, there goes one of the people that was helping me keep my sanity in this litter box...

Always tough to see someone else go home early. Even tougher when it someone you're counting on. May not look like it from your POV, but from where I sit, you are already a hero. Caring for a fellow soldier is as hard sometimes as getting shot at. I didn't let just anyone handle something like this back in '90 - '91. Only the ones I knew I could rely on to get the job done right. Says something really positive about you that your chain of command can depend upon you this way.

As to people helping you keep your sanity intact while deployed, I am sure we here at MSFC will do what we can. You are very, very important to us all.

I think we might tend to erode peoples' sanity, actually.

Sanity? I didn't think I still had something like that. Lost it years ago.

Well, looks like I might be losing my room. Something about they think someone higher ranking should have this room and I should get stuffed into a room with a nco. So, I might just have lost any personal time or space I have currently. I await word on wether or not the move is approved. I know one thing, if this does happen I will have no way to relax and put up with the stuff around here but what do I know, I am only a SPC.

That is odd for a E4 " SPC " to have to bunk with a NCO. Usually the NCO would get their own room for have to bunk with another NCO if space was at a premium Wile most E4 down have to bunk up with each other which is common. But I have seen butter bars having to bunk up.

But at any rate sorry to hear that Frog

I was bunked up with another E4...He was sent home.... So an E6 wants the room for himself. So, I get moved to his old room with an E5. While he moves into my room. Ofcourse only in the military do they have 2 people move instead of just moving 1 person (the E5). But what do I know...I am only an E4 afterall...
