Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
Yeah, an old copy of Photoshop 2015. The Drex orthogonals were the starting point, and with some tweaking to get the seams between views right. Then on to some hand-made normal maps, which TBH make it look serviceable.Wow that's some awesome work mate. Loving the quality of the textures. What do you use to make the textures? I just use photoshop myself.
excellent work.. good to see 3D modlers out there putting in work! Any chance some of these could be released for Armada? I read that one of that bases is about 44k polies.. a bit high.. but could still be workable

So I was inspired again with the process I used on the Klingon ship (I decided to name it the Taj mInDu' class, in lieu of a canonical name), and return to a model of the Bajoran Interceptor I'd been tinkering with for years.
This time I used some upscaling on the source orthogonals at the start of the process, which definitely kept things sharper. I took some liberties with the original design and added an impulse drive at the rear. Not quite as big a change as STO's two impulse exhausts though.
Given this came out with 5.5k tris, a 1mb diffuse, 2mb normal/emissive and 1mb specular/metal/gloss map... I'm pretty happy!
Probably like one of the hero ships for the Maquis from Future WarsYeah I use photoshop Cs6 myself. It does the job for the most part. Quite impressed with the textures you can pump out using it though. Very impressive.
Very impressive. Don't see many Bajoran ships. I wonder what a capital ship of theirs would look like in an alternative universe/timeline like the one we saw Wolf in TNG: Parallels.
