• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I'm baaaaack! I'm back in the saddle again!

What is it you do here again?

I... uh... Maj, what is it I do here exactly?

Also, it looks like I got here on Syf's birthday. Good timing on my part, I think.

Hope yesterday was a good Father's Day for those who it applies to. I only got to talk to my Dad over the phone, but I'm a bit under the weather so it wasn't as fun of a conversation as it could have been.

Sooooo.....what's everybody up to?

I took a Faraday cage, placed a collection of proteins, nutrients, and water in it, then flooded it with radiation to excite the water molecules. It was delicious.

Hello:
I love those "Keep Calm" pics like the one in theprevious page :lol2:. I have one that says "Keep Calm and Blame XANA" (you know, the bad AI from Code:Lyoko that i still keep as avatar pic) and also "Keep Calm and Drop a Colony" (that one for all Gundam fans  ).

And also, Chile won it's second match today in the World Cup! they defeated the current world champions in a very amazing game, but the stadium was so filled with chilean fans, the chilean anthem was so amazing:worship:.

I liked that show. I should re-watch it. There's a sequel now, too.

Congratulations to the Chilean team!

Mine's not quite that big, but I do have a push mower. The yard takes up nearly three times as much space as the house. Here's an old picture off of Google Maps.

The last tenants got kicked out because they let the property get in horrible shape. Blackberries had taken over a quarter of the yard (that's the green blob), the grass was a good yard/meter high, the fence had huge holes, the carpet was horribly stained, the upstairs bathroom had a hole in the ceiling and one in the wall, and the downstairs bathroom had mushrooms growing on the toilet. The owner's sister is moving in near the end of the year so I'll need to find a new place before then, but I got a great deal in the meantime so long as the house gets fixed up (done) and stays that way.

Damn Mushrooms in the loo, it's pretty bad how some people live. I have seen the state some people live in and seriously living in a barn with farm animals would be a better alternative to the way they live.

I wish you the best of luck finding another house it is hard being a tennant sometimes, constantly moving. In the last 6 years Kat and I have been in 3 houses but the last move was optional on our part the move from Charlestown to Caves Beach was due to the landlord not wanting to fix up the property which was a safety hazard and evicted us for us asking if they could look at it. Yet it didn't stop him putting the price up. We were originally paying $250 a week and 12 months after that it was $260 and just before we got kicked out we got a letter saying it was increasing to $270. We got Caves Beach for $275 (which included an extra bedroom). By the time we left 3 years later it was at $295 a week. Now we are here, 4 bedroom, ensuite, 2 sheds (1 has room for a car and has a bathroom in it), huge living areas and on 1 acre for only $300 a week. Not bad for only $5 a week more.

The downside is that our rental is for sale, but the landlord who lived here for something like 20 years and raised 4 children here and who owns another house she currently lives in with no finance on either property wants to sell it to investors. Plus the house while great, isn't the best out here for the price she is asking. Our daughter's friend lives on 5 acres, her parents bought the land 5 years ago for $60k and her father's mother bought the same amount of land (next door to them of all places) just recently for $200k, this house we are in is asking almost $400k. It's been on the market for over 2 years and only had 2 people look at it, both since we've been here and the first group that came through only came because they knew the guy who built it and wanted to reminisce.

Kat and I are actually looking into seeing if any banks will give us a home loan as the rent we pay would pretty much equal mortgage repayments. Land and houses out here aren't expensive due to being in a town with 3000 people, 6000 if you also count the town 5 minutes away. We are in the country and the closest major town (with major shopping places like Woolworths, Big W, Coles etc) is 30-45mins. While we might not get the best sized land or the largest house if we can get a loan we could get a house that is ours and not someone elses.

Oh onto another subject, Xenforo has released a new version, so possible next week I will be closing the site down for a day at most, a few hours at least to do a minor update. I'll keep everyone posted about this when the time draws near, most likely my email.

One of my cats climbed onto my bed this morning for cuddles and he was purring so loud I thought he was going to vibrate off the bed like a cell phone off a desk.

Our youngest Lili does that all night to us. She has the loudest purr of all 3 cats.

So, I was testing a carrier for FO that spawns fighters automatically instead of when you push a button and I accidentally set it to spawn seven more carriers instead of seven fighters. Each of those carriers spawned seven more carriers which each spawned seven more carriers and so forth. It's a really good thing I'm quick with the escape button.
