• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Lightwave, I attempted to start using blender to render some simple shots but the program won't import any of the files it says it can.

Perhaps when I get my next job I may consider getting (buying) a program that would actually do what it say it does.

Anyway with your bridge , are you going to keep it close to the Daedalus/Prometheus bridges or go a step further and doing something a bit more different?

Well for price lightwave is not bad coming in at under $1000 but this is still a large investment so if you can try it out first it would be for the best. It would suck to spend a lot of money on a program with an interface you can't work with. Most 3d packages seem to be hit or miss depending on the person using them.

Now about the bridge. The over all basic design will be the same with the mapping room in the back and the control area in the front but past that a lot of the layout will change. There will be about 4 main station in the front with the captain still seated in the center.

Well they are more or less finished it's just mostly tweaking a few settings to get everything to look it's best.

After that I add all the running lights for the ship.

That beasty is amazing, whats the poly count like?
The final poly count is 375,320.

Ouch.

That'd be why it looks so impressive lol.
Well when you think about it most of the models used in shows are around 1-8 million polygons, so this kind of makes it a low polygon model in itself.

I hadnt thought about it quite like that lol
Its still very impressive
I must admit i havent seen the latest series of stargate yet unfortunately. in fact, the last one i saw (on terrestial tv) was where they went back to ancient egypt to steal a ZPM, messed it up, and then alternate versions of them went back to try and restore the original timeline - so i havent actually seen that ship yet unfortunately.
