All the major parts finished being printed! Now the real work begins...
This is pretty awesome. Do you plan to paint it at all? Maybe put the Chimera pattern on it?

Haven't gotten to painting the Chimera yet, but I did glue it up, and in the mean time, I printed another helmet. This one, a tie pilot's. Toying with painting it up just like the Chimera... see renders.

Nice, Still loving that star destroyer wall art.

I am planning to get into 3d printing soon, mainly chassis and stands for lightsabers.

Haha most of them are actually board games. A few runoff fantasy books from my wife's otherwise quite large collection. I previously modeled/designed a bookcase to go over our bed in our bedroom, and thats where the majority of them are.

Beautiful! I recognize a fair number of those titles. We've got similar tastes haha.

I wish the pc game Star Wars: Empire at War would have given Thrawn a Star Destroyer with that design, instead of giving him a blue Star Destroyer. But alas, Empire at War came long before the Rebels cartoon. Nice work though.

Wow... I've really gotten behind on posting here... Finish the helmet.. ended up being under a time crunch and having some problems with the smoothing process I used. I was trying to finish it in time to enter a design competition, and the painting process I was going to use did not end up going according to plan so I had to freehand the whole thing... but ultimately I finished it on time and ended up getting 14% of the 200 or so votes.

I have major updates on the Chimaera and another project, but I'll wait before dumping everything in one post.

I appreciate the kind comments! I was actually really disappointed with how it came out... I am terrible at freehand painting... But that's why I have a laser for things like the Chimaera!

I can't attach the time lapse of the Laser doing it's job, but it took about 30 minutes for a full pass and I did two passes to cut though the tape without burning the model.

The laser feels like cheating sometimes... But then I remember without tools, we are merely talkative animals..

This part is going to be a massive surprise to my friend, who will be getting this particular piece. He has no idea I'm doing lights.

After this, I'm just going to lighten up the overall color a tad, and then do some weathering(which will probably result in the same darkness it is now, with slightly less contrast on the mural but more visible details on the model itself)
