Nice, you really got the mix right man. I've noticed that a lot of the textures for the Feds in FO are a little washed out, I guess the bump mapping makes up for giving out extra detail and heavier lines.
Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. The bump mabs are extra textures. They should be in the RGB directory. Post one and I'll have a look.
I personally would love to know how to do bump maps but I have never been able to learn how nor has anyone I asked has shown me.
Yeah, it has something to do with the model itself though. Like a LOD I assume. I just use a bumpmap filter on the textures, and some times it turns out well, some times, not.
As said before, Here is the Midway class given a FO makeover. The windows aren't as bright as I would like, but it is kinda hard to go back and edit everything, but the windows, so I just left them as they were. Here are some before and after shots.
I intend on attempting to add glows to these at some point for picture taking, as I have no intent on actually playing my mods. I mean, who does that?

Not bad there, those lines seem to a bit heavy on the Achilles though. Must be why I was never too fond of bump maps.
Personally, I liked the random triangles on the Flourish myself , adds some uniqueness to a future ship.

I never really liked the blue triangles, so I got rid of them.
