• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Just deleted the ISSDPromo video because I was informed by YouTube it was blocked in some countries due to the music content I used. Sorry, people.

Let me get this straight they blocked it because you used star wars music to promote a star wars mod?

Digital Rights Management at it's finest. Easier to pull the video than not. I should have known better. Sony Music is one of the more strident and ardent supporters of Digital Rights Management. Although one might imagine something which came out when I was in high school, nearly thirty years ago, should not have very much retail value left. Ah well, second time I've put my foot into it all the way to the thigh by messing about with Star Wars stuff. No good deed ever goes unpunished, eh?

You know their should be some fair use disclamer you can post as their are literally hundreds of thousands of "Imperial March" vids on youtube.

Well no luck with the PM to the BSG mod team on ModDB, I'm really not sure they log in all that often (only to post updates every few months it seems). So I've re-sent the PM on their mods development forum.

Hopefully this'll get a response, I'll keep you updated :)

The ideas for such a BSG mod sound promising. I look forward to what you come up with.

And with Maj aboard, you also got an expert for refurbishing ships and making them look even more spectacular. :thumbsup:

Well, this isn't exactly a side project per se, but it is something I found interesting. As you know, I've never been a fan of the schematic style of wireframe. So I came up with a simpler style which I also made transparent. The transparent ones look good. They look even better with some type of border. If they do not have a border, then they look a little odd with the Stock GUIs. I haven't used a Stock GUI for anything in awhile, lol.

FahreS' CompactClear GUI mod is wonderful! I've adapted it for my own install and very highly recommend it to anyone who wants something far closer to the way Star Trek ought to look. But my transparent build buttons and wireframes detract slightly from the look, I feel. So I adjusted the code as follows:

From
Code:
@reference=64
@tmaterial=interface
To
Code:
@reference=64
@tmaterial=[COLOR="DarkOrange"]additive[/COLOR]
for the Build buttons.

And for the wireframes,
From
Code:
@reference=256
@tmaterial=interface
To
Code:
@reference=256
@tmaterial=[COLOR="DarkOrange"]additive[/COLOR]
I find I rather like it. I'll need to tweak the color for the background a little to see if I can get it slightly more transparent. But this should be an easy fix. These will be included in the BSG Half Race Mod ver2.0 kjc733 and I are working up
