The re-texture by Jetfreak could also be used as a Garidian vessel.

The Garidians are a sub-Romulan species that borrows Romulan ships and appeared in the game A Final Unity back in the early 90's. A awesome game something I wished I still could run.

"Captain's Log Stardate1000909.7. After extensive study and research, we have discovered the importation of new ships and objects to Armada II may occasionally be taken too far. While we commend people's desire to continue to adapt and improve this simulation to, ahem, 'Boldly go where no developer has gone before', some may have gotten carried away with their newfound abilities."

Been playing around with SOD files today some. Also been tinkering with the AI as well. Fed Mission 06 is always challenging.

"Wow.... Mr Vulcan isn't that just wow?"

Neelix's expression of the Q supernova in season 3 of Voyager is a similar expression of what I have here.

That is some quality and outstanding work Thunderfoot. I hope you intend to release that down the road, maybe as a weapon enhancement modification.

Also Aad Moreman has done some very good quality Federation replacement's hasn't he? I use them myself. :)

Yeah. Why can't the Borg leave Courage alone? :lol2:

Like HK said, great work, Thunderfoot. :D

PS.: If you didn't get my mentioning of Courage; She's my RPG ship, and she's a Sovereign. ;)

Once again, the both of you are much too kind. "Courage" is a very fine name indeed for a starship. I have always preferred to use names European navies give their ships in A2 myself. The names are sometimes more impressive than the ship.

I have an Akira class named Relentless I have been writing fan fiction about for about three years. She's been all across the Federation, from the Romulan Neutral Zone to patrolling the shipping lanes hunting pirates near Orion's Belt(her current assignment). The thread, "To Hunt Well" is the story I am currently struggling to finish. I have bits and pieces of it posted here but I only work on it when I can see clearly in my mind what she is doing. The story has staggered along by fits and starts. I made a conscious decision to not write a 'typical' Star Trek story and it has worked so far. One of these days I'm gonna take a serious vacation and get the thing completed. Do you have any idea just how noisy a ship at full impulse can be in the back of your head?

Hello:
Those are great pics indeed Thunderfoot, and if you need a Nebula class, you can always have pics of the USS Discovery :) .
But I cannot say how noisy really a ship at full impulse can be. In Kirk's era they were more noisy as I remember some of the TOS chapters, but TNG (and after) ships are more modern and more silent, I remember Scotty mentioning it to LaForge.
Keep it up!

Battlestar Pegasus, BSG -62
Meshes and textures: Coxxon, Dan1025, Mike McKeon.
Everything else: thunderfoot
Why? Because Dan1025 let me! Because I can! Because MSFC deserves more BSG content!

Hello:
And those are very cool pics! I wish I can take pics like those ones, hehehe.
I am very happy that you will release that Battlestar, it should make quite an addition to any BSG fan.

... or almost any:naughty:.

That is indeed a very well done Pegasus. For Parallels EAS_Intrepid did a scratch built Pegasus and used Coxxon's textures to texture her, I am planning on releasing it at some point, but it doesn't look as stunning as these. I might send it to you first to get the Thunderfoot treatment before releasing it. It would give people options to have two Pegasus' or one hero and none fleet.

In any case these screenshots look stunning as does the model. You and Dan should be congratulated.

+rep for you.

Hah! I can always count on MSFC's resident Cylon! Perhaps we should change your username to, ahem, "Number Thirteen"

The technique I have developed for tweaking textures is actually pretty basic. Nearly all the textures done for any A2 custom ship are far too bright. the brightness obscures a great many details and can make a great model and texture set look cartoonish. Here are the settings I use to get what a lot of people refer to as "the Akira Treatment". I call it this because MAP's BIVR Akira was the first ship I tried it out on.

1) Reduce the gamma on a texture by at least 15%. Shadows are what give a two dimensional object the illusion of mass and depth. If these are minimized the object looks flat.

2) Sharpen the details on the texture by at least 25%. If your graphics application has a setting for preserving the original colours, click on 'Yes'. I use a threshold setting of 64 to prevent the edge lines from taking over.

The original model was something Dan1025 gave all the members of Starbase34. TSK and I were discussing how to best get her into the game. I got started on making everything else because at the time I wanted some BSG content available on the other A2 site. Because of an incredibly stupid April Fool's joke by someone about a mod cancellation which displayed poor judgement, poor leadership skills, and extremely bad timimg, I disassociated myself(i.e. got myself banned from there by my own choice) from Starbase 34 before I finished everything. I loathe, detest, and despise April Fool's jokes and people who play them. When I was done with her, I sent TSK the completed ship for release as a Starbase 34 Project, since nearly everyone there had contributed at least a little something. And nothing ever came of it. He seemed skittish at the time about releasing it as an SB34 project. Probably because I would be associated with it and I was no longer part of the SB34 crew. As far as I know, the ship was supposed to be in the next SB34 project. I have heard nothing else and the ship has never appeared anywhere. I found the file on one of my thumb drives the other day and thought, "Not bad, but I can update everything to the current BSG stuff I have and make it better." I contacted Dan1025 about releasing her here at MSFC and he agreed. Mike McKeon and I have a standing agreement for free useage with credit for anything we've done for BSG in A2 so the Vipers and Raptors included are his. Mike has also done a version of Pegasus and a few other BSG ships which are pretty good. I'll need to go through the file to ensure the only content included is Dan's, Mike's, or mine. After this, which should not take too long, I can send it in. I have included a set of ingame voiceovers for both the battlestar and the fighters which I recorded. They are just as cheesy as the stock A2 ones, lol.

And the almost 30MB file is being upload right now to the server, however it may be tonight (my AU time) before it's fully up, as we have to head out to help out some friends. Plus I am also doing some work on the site, which includes a new temporary skin to replace the current one.

So hopefully before the weekend is out MSFC will have a new look, a look that we'll use until vBulletin 4.0 is released and we upgrade to that.

That is a good looking ship. I can't wait to get my hands on it...But I do have a motive in mind. I hope you will not mind it appearing in a video.

The tactic of being on station and prepared for battle just before sunrise is something practiced by military forces since the beginning of the Human race. It is obvious others would use this same tactic. Because it works.

Dawn Patrol
"Battle Grouping Targ Four Five, this is Control. You are cleared for departure along Lane Three Aleph. Glory and honor to your House."

Targ Four Five, this is Constructor Nine Bektel. Move those rust buckets out of my way. You are delaying work important to the High Council!
Hunt well and with honor, Four Five. Nine Bektel out."
dawnpatrol02.jpg
"Targ Four Five acknowledges Control's instructions. Break. Nine Bektel, keep the Empire secured until our return. Four Five, out."

"Group, Command. Form on me. Readiness Level is Two. Preapre for warp on my mark. Acknowledge."

Nice looking as always TF. I do have to ask, What Mods are you using for your backgrounds and objects? Are they your own work or already available mods?

Hey! I have lots of pics without BSG stuff in them! lollollol.

Backgrounds and objects are from Yacuzza's Midnight Universe v2.0. I had to tweak them a little to get my laptop to stop making girly-man squeally noises whenever I play A2, but it was worth it.

That sounds interesting... I'd actually like to know the settings before you tweaked it... I'd send a private mod over to be tested by our host... I can just image the look on Majestic face when his 'puter makes girly-man sounds...:lol2:

Just joking.

Ok, thanks for the info TF. Keep up the good work, and what we say at my work-place, keep 'em rollin'.

Nice pics as always TF, I was actually consodering adding the Metathran's to COE I even had Achilles permission but I decided not to as I felt it should stay AOW exclusive.

I run a AMD QuadCore at 3.0Ghz, I think it would have to be fairly graphic extensive to make the Quady squeal. Hell I can run A2, Photoshop, MS3d, a copy of Flyff for Katala and a Mozilla Firefox with a dozen tabs open.

But I have come to never underestimate by friend Syf, if it can be done he'll find a way. :lol2:

But back to the topic, Thunderfoot, you have done some amazing work. I actually gave your maps a run yesterday and simply love Dawn's Come Early. It has now become my favourite map of all time and everyone should install it, it has now become part of my base install for ever mod along with A2PP, PP1.2.5. Midnight v2, Elrond's Pink Blob be Gone, Fahres Light and Project Blue and Orange mods and one or two others.

Keep up the awesome work mate.
