I intended to post this a while back ago. Cryptic has released their spring and summer roadmap for STO. There is some very interesting information there and if they can get it all to work could make STO seem like a different game. They have also posted a video talking about it. It is lengthy but full of good information.

I looked at the ship from what angles they posted on the blog. The worst part is the primary hull. The saucer shape just doesn't seem to fit right. Other than that, the rest of the ship looks fine (personal opinion obviously). I do understand why they are taking this route and I am hopeful the more they try, the better they'll get. I look at this way; its a free ship. I'll get it, try it out, and unlock the trait. Then I'll move on.

They could have had much better results trying to merge a BOP and a Defiant, just saying

Probably, but they're under the impression that bigger is better so new high-end ships are required to dwarf the Sovereign, Negh'Var, D'deridex, and other super massive ships.

The more I look at that design the more I think "meh" - seen worse. They'd been better off mating a Federation and Romulan ship in my opinion.

Anyway, have no fear, the STO trend of making poorly fitting Frankenstein ships continues. I present the Galexeign. Or the Soveraxy.

I just read through the blog. I have a Romulan Liberated Borg science officer. While the ship wouldn't do her a lot of good (being a command ship), I can see myself spending a lot of EC for the other stuff for her. Especially the uniform and weapons.

Today it's five Phoenix boxes - once per account again.

There has also been some details on the new 10th Anniversary Legendary Starship Bundles. So far this includes a rebuild of the Galaxy and Defiant models (the Defiant complete with nose art options :)). Rumors are that the following will be released:
1) TMP NX Refit
2) TOS Connie
3) Beyond Konnie
4) Galaxy (confirmed)
5) Defiant (confirmed)
6) Warship Voyager
7) 25th Century Crossfield
8) Nemesis Refit Sovereign

But we'll just have to see. These ships will include the same types of abilities as the other T6 ships, so the Defiant will be a pilot ship (yay) and the Galaxy a Command ship.

The bundles don't come cheap though. The basic bundle comes in at 30k zen (19500 for the initial offer) and 45k zen (29300 offer) for a larger bundle that comes with a bunch of keys and boxes. My view is that they are going to sell the bundle at 30k for 10 T6 ships you may as well buy them individually - assuming they release them in that way.

I like warship Voyager. I'd hope they release it individually and it's a beefed up science ship comparable to the temporal science daedalus ship.

I always thought that Warship Voyager would have been perfect as a Mirror Universe version of Voyager.

I never understand why people like the Warship Voyager so much. It was a kitbash that appeared in one episode.

Anyway, Legends launched today. Need to do 20 events to get the new ship. It may be just be but the game is sooooo laggy. It's just taken several minutes to warp out of Earth Spacedock! Then I got booted.

Freebee is 5x Infinity Promotion - Delta Alliance Duty Officer Pack. Character bound of course. I'm sensing a theme in this years giveaways.

Seems like that is the end of the giveaways.

If you go to a Federation ship vendor you can see the upgrades to the ship models. This includes a Defiant with nose art, the Warship Voyager, and the Phase II Constitution. You may need to hunt around for the Warship, I think it was in a Fleet Intrepid.

Some not bad looking designs, however given that for the time being they are ONLY going to be sold in the two hellishly expensive bundles there is precisely no way I'll be getting any of them.
What I can't get my head around is people on the forums saying, "oh yeah, good value, I'll be getting it."
I mean, yes, ten ships at 3000 zen apiece makes 30,000 zen. But compared to other bundles which get cheaper the more ships are included it is bad. I also think it's a bad sign of things to come (repackaging lockbox ships and selling them in massive bundles) and given that it's a ten year old game it smells of "lets get as much money out before this collapses."

Of course, that's my personal opinion.

Wholeheartedly agree mate. How I have felt. They're getting so much more greedy and all it will do is drive people away from supporting the game financially. I haven't spent a cent in the game for years for this very reason. Back when the Romulans were new I think was the last time I opened my wallet lol.

The canon based ship variants are decently modeled at least. I'm surprised they even made the Beyond Enterprise refit.

As stated, it seems like a move out of desperation. The Beyond refit is more likely to get JJ-trek fans invested in the pack (or any ship, for that matter) vs putting other canon ships in, like the remaining Wolf 359 ships

Its not just the ten ships in the larger pack - it has all the skins/consoles/traits from the existing variants, an epic token for phoenix lockbox, and some other goodies i cant remember.

But that said - yes, its hellaciously expensive and definitely a blatant money grab. For whales only.

And to think - I only came to drum up interest in a KDF pirate fleet where players are challenged to use only non-Klingon ships :D

Thank you :). I can't take all the credit, there were 3 of us who hammered this idea out into one that could work (and partially inspired by The Mandalorian - which is why we're using Dar'manda as a fleet name).

But yeh, the idea is its a place for those with no place in the Empire and using vessels they could buy, capture or steal, so no Klingon vessels (with the possible exception of the BoP since its the starting ship).

For anyone interested, contact me in game (@kalknight) !

Apologies for blatant advertising!!
