Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
Mostly just a hobby. I use them in still images but animations are not out of the question. I may also use them to build up a portfolio and use it as examples if I do commission work in the future.ooooh my that looks marvelous! Are you planning some kind of animation thing with these or are they just for hobby?
I often wonder how commissions work tbh. The biggest reasons why I never done any is because atm I don't feel confident on my skills atm, and I'm confused on whether you have to mark them down on taxes.Mostly just a hobby. I always get asked if I can do work for others so I guess that is a sign that you are at a skill level to attract people.I often wonder how commissions work tbh. For my backgrounds I have my own starfield and like you I use stock cloud pictures and edit them and reshape them into nebulas that work for the backgrounds.Background/lighting is top notch RJB. Do you use stock images? Because I mix and match cloud photos and what not to make my nebulas.
Thanks.Great work mate loving all the updates.
I think the Poseidon would still win out in number of fighters. The battle carrier will be more a jack of all trades. Basically it is it's own small fleet and center of command for larger fleet actions.Damn, you are just showing off now RJB.
Love the way the carrier is coming along, that would give the Poseidon a run for its money huh?
The Sentri Mk2 is a thing of beauty. Why replace something when you can just upgrade it and make it better than new?
As a fan of the University of Arkansas, I approve of the class name.Earth Alliance - Razorback Class Starfury.
Gravimetric enhanced 2nd generation Starfury.
Original design based on Babylon 5.

It depends what I'm trying to do.How do you do the hull detailing? Do you extrude the panels from the original mesh or do you add separate objects?
If you extrude them, how do you ensure consistency in the panel arrangement?
That is not a technique I'd considered before, I must try that sometime.Other parts I'll design shapes and cut them into the model and then extrud and manipulate it from there.
