Anyone interested in submitting their final entries? I would like to request those be uploaded within the next 2 days. On Friday, August 29th, we will have the contest winner announcement. So the Final entries thread will be located then.

Ok, one of the Judges will not be available until Monday at the earliest. So, ALL submissions must be in by Monday, September 1st. Judging will be on Tuesday Sept. 2nd.

So far, I have Amature's, La Patience, and RJB's models.

If anyone else is going to enter, Have your models submitted by tomorrow night 10:00pm central time (GMT -6). I will make one last look for uploaded models then, and post any relevent information. Be sure to post your final image entries in the Final posts thread too by that time.

I had plans to enter this contest, but I've had a couple of things working against me:

1. Not long after I started to learn the new 3D program I had bought, my computer had to be repaired. The repairs lasted for months(since they had to see what was wrong). Thus I only got my computer back recently (4 days ago). That didn't gave me a lot of time to work on the model.

2. I have been forced to start from scratch on the model three times now as I don't get very far before some mysterious holes appear in the model, and I have no idea on how to fix those.

Thus even if I would be lucky on my next try to make the model without holes, I just don't have enough time to complete it to be in this competition.
Oh well, I'll be on the next one.

I am saddened to here that. But yes, there will be a next time (with a different approach and time limit).

I've myself been so busy I hadn't worked on my entry. I will be finishin git up tonight and tomorrow. Since there is so few entries, I figure I'll go ahead and finish it.

Thats good to hear that another one will come along. its a shame external factors affect our lives so, BQ glad you got your PC now and I know what you mean with holes in the model. I have had that alot at the start.

well maybe next time we could create a walker mech or something heh

Ok, I'm waiting to see if anyone else is going to make a final entry to the contest... So I will keep the threads open until morning. That's it though. After that, the contest is closed, and the Judging will begin.

Sorry for the delay. Life sometimes interupts what we plan. I had family matters to deal with today.

Yes, there is already plans for a new contest. The next one is going to be a bit different in the way it proceeds. It will only be allowed to run for 2-3 weeks. And there will be a public voting poll (no offense to the judges of this contest, it is not against you guys. You guys are great).

um where wa I oh yes... Syf here is just an idea. why dont we have like two voting poles. one for public and another for judges. on gamespot and such sites they have an editors score and an public score. why dont we have a winner for both public and editors (judges) scores. I'm not saying giving tow sets of rewards or stuff like that but it has been used effectively before hee.

well just an idea. there are probably alot of problems with the idea but whatever heh.

This just popped into my mind but if the judges scores for this round are going to be made public (don't know if they will), can they also add what they like about each model and areas that they think can be improved. It would be interesting to get input from the varies judges.

Sorry... i meant to get mine up last week while I was on nights, but didnt have chance or time, and i've been busy since then too.
I am working on it however

However, I think a voting poll would still be a good idea... it helps balance things out between competitors to decide the winner, for example one competitor might do well on the 'technical' scoring from all the judges, but it might not be the favourite entry as far as members are concerned, they may prefer other models... by having both judges and a public poll, it might help give a 'better' result - plus it makes things even more interesting
