Thanks guys, yeah she is very similar to a modern day fighter. From the show, though, I think she's a bit bigger. On one occasion one was seen chasing down Serenity in space, docking with her, and 3 or 4 guys get off.

Anyway, been playing with something else this week. Done a few simple loading screens, added some music, and made a new main menu. Nothing too fancy, but I'm pleased with it, and it all works good.

Fantastic work there mate, I wish I knew how to do main menu screens. Something I still haven't figured out, but you have certainly mastered it as it looks fantastic. :)

Fantastic looking menu! Very few people ever bother to mod the main loading screen so I'm really pleased to see you working on something new for it :)

Hello:
The new menues look great, now I guess you have all Firefly fans drooling because of that... and if we add the great Fighter you also made, it looks like you are preparing something from that serie :).
Keep it up!

Glad you liked my menu, guys. Thanks for the compliments.

Had a go at making some planets, which I'm totally new at. Came out ok I guess for my first attempt. I'm not going to go too crazy with them, as there are much better ones out there for people to use. I just wanted to get away from the standard 'Startrek' planet classifications.

And I finally got around to building her:

No complaints from me man, the more space bodies the merrier I say! If I may ask, where did you get the textures for them?

And the Serenity mesh is epic win.

Thanks Jet. And yeah, I basically made them myself from photos off the Nasa web site. Think I downloaded just about every picture of every space body they have, plus several of Earth, of course.
Then just layering bits and peices from various pictures together and recolouring as neccessary, The hard part, as some already know, is getting the darn things mapped and lined up correctly. :yuck:

Agreed, the more space bodies/objects we get the better, especially if they're of this quality. The Serenity/Firefly model looks brilliant, can't wait to see her textured

Great work all around, looking forward to what you do next :)

Looks fab dude. Any chance of the tail section of Serenity spinning around like in the show?

Hello:
Those are incredible nice, I like the Serenity mesh, how many polies does it have?

And the map objects, amazing, you might hav almost enough M-class (and similar) to make the Twelve Colonies of Kobold . What is the idea behing the Mr Universe planet? it looks like it is shedding it's atmosphere.

The red dilithium moon looks great, and dangerous, a freighter with malfunctioning sensor could think it is an infinite dilithium moon and them... BOOM!

Those planets are amazing! They just need some non-stock atmospheres to be comparable to the MU planets.

Thanks mate. actually I'm just trying to sort out some sun models. Proving tricky for me at the moment, as I know how I want them in-game, but getting them right is giving me grief at the mo.......Cant have the Serenity Verse without the famous White Sun, Red Sun, and Blue Suns.
After that I hope to have a go at backgrounds (another first for me)

Yaaay! Those planets are quite awesome. And nice model for the ship, too.

Great work man

Thanks guys

If only I could dude. You are so right, that would be awesome. Sadly I use milkshape for modelling so cant do animations. Sorry

Hello:

Actually she came out a little high for my liking for what's basically just a small transport ship. It's around 1300. There is a bit of detail around the shuttles I can get rid of to cut it down some for a production model, but will use this one for the hero unit.

What is the idea behing the Mr Universe planet? it looks like it is shedding it's atmosphere.
Lol, that was me playing with sprites. In the movie, Mr Universe's planet is hidden inside a gassy nebula type thing. I was just experimenting to try and re-create that.

The red dilithium moon looks great, and dangerous, a freighter with malfunctioning sensor could think it is an infinite dilithium moon and them... BOOM!
Actually that is my infinate moon, lol. Dilithium is a star trek term, so in this mod I've changed it slightly. You now mine ore from those 3 types of thermal moons, which then converts to fuel when you get it back to a mining station. (Have also changed 'Latinum' to 'Platinum')

The small Ice moons I have set up similar to the stock latinum nebulas, so it can be mined also. The large moon has some small amount of metal that can be mined, and the Arboreal moon is basically the same, but can be colonised as well.

Those planets are amazing! They just need some non-stock atmospheres to be comparable to the MU planets.
Thanks man. I appreciate that. Actually, a little confession from me, I've never even tried MU:eek:
And I wish I had a clue how to change the cloud textures.

Some great work Avon.
Thanks mate:thumbsup:
