Hey that's pretty cool. Based on Borg technology I guess?

Heh, when I agreed to this one I thought that there'd be some of Drex's renders to go by... instead of just that 2 second shot from Enterprise! :D

Anyhow, think I'm nearly done with it. This'll be a Destroyer. Have a good idea for what the Frigate/Scout will look like and probably the Cruiser too. Not sure yet on anything Battleship and above...

Generic08a.png Generic08b.png

EDIT: Oh, and the Starfleet Transwarp Conduit isn't necessarily Borg inspired. Given the setting and game mechanics it's usually safest to avoid referencing other empires as dependencies given there's no guarantee the player will research a thing at the same time that empire is actually alive on the map in a given playthrough.

The original concept from Priority One was set in TOS times I think. I've tried to make it look a little bit more era neutral.

Bit of a slowdown on my end, on account of a little thing in the way of the birth of my daughter... but got some free time between snoozes to start work on a model of the Sarajevo type.

Sarajevo1.png Sarajevo2.png
I was kind of surprised to see that there just weren't many models of this out there!

Anyhow, still needs some of the grid detailing added before I consider it "done".

Hello:
Congratulations for your daughter! :excited:

Nice work with this ship, I actually like how you textured the windows in the dorsal sections  .

Congratulation mate, you must be very happy and proud. I know I would be if I'm ever lucky enough to have kids.

Looking good on the ship, I think it's not much of a fan favourite hence it's rarity.

Thanks guys!

And yeah, I think for a lot of people the Sarajevo kind of got forgotten because it was so out of keeping with the standard Starfleet design aesthetic.

Congrats on the little one!

And I love the model that you've done for the Sarajevo. I haven't thought about that little ship in a while.

Figured I'd take on the Moneans from Voyager next. Their ships are capable of operating in space and underwater, so they needed to have a sleekness to them...

The asset from the show:
monean-screen.jpg

From this I modelled the canonical ship as a Destroyer (third from left), and used it as a template to make a Battleship (Left), Cruiser (Second from Left) and Scout (Right):

Monean Front.png

Just need to figure out how I'm going to handle a transport/construction ship for them next...

Wow that's great work on making a small fleet out of them. Some truly great designs. :)
I love all the unique designs in Voyager.

Great work, well done. They do look very graceful, like aquatic animals...

I made some rebuilds/reinterpretations and kitbashes of STO's Na'kuhl ships recently.

Personally I could see where STO was going with the orangey colour scheme, but it never quite worked for me. Instead I used a tiger-strip based metallic texture. To my eye at least, this seems a closer fit to their vampire aesthetic.

A while back I came across a pretty cool design for a Dominion starbase attached to a... pretty weird mobile game: "Alien Incursion".

Figured I needed to model it myself and here's the result:

Few years back I made a (not so great) rebuild of Avon's Yridian Destroyer model. This week I decided to revisit it and expand it out to a (mostly) full shipset, using the colour scheme from the original model by Sternbach.

Below (left to right) are the:
  • Scrutiniser class Command Cruiser
  • Inquirer class Cruiser
  • Prowler class Destroyer
  • Pryer class Scout
  • (As yet un-named) Transport Ship

These are awesome I loved who you used different colours for the bulb in the rear for different ships. That's a nice touch. :)

Thanks all!
Hath - It's about 44,000 tris, and I probably will do, later in the year. :)

I finished up some Yridian stations today as well, to complete that set.

Left to right:
Mining Station
Research Station
Starbase (fully upgraded)
Small Defence Station
Large Defence Station

Station_Top.png Station_Side.png Station_Angle_1.png Station_Angle_2.png

To be honest, I might have gone a tad overboard on the Starbase with the number of spheres and panels...

I was given an Eaglemoss Designing Starships book recently, containing (among other things) details on the origin of the Klingon Attack Ship used by the Augments in Enterprise.

This gave me the kick needed to revisit an old untextured model I'd found and had been tinkering on years back. Took the opportunity to rebuild the geometry and try a different texturing approach to that I normally take.

Some high-quality orthogonals really helped, and the design made the normal map relatively simple.
