• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Just have a 64x64 image and make a new wireframe section. Look at the following:

Code:
Wireframes
@reference=64
@tmaterial=interface

fdreadw1		MAJwffed004	0	0	64	64
fdreadw2		MAJwffed004	0	0	64	64
fdreadw3		MAJwffed004	0	0	64	64
fdreadw4		MAJwffed004	0	0	64	64
fdreadw5		MAJwffed004	0	0	64	64

The only problem with this method is that when a system gets disabled the whole image flashes instead of a part but if that doesn't worry you as it doesn't for me it's a great and easy way to have good looking wireframes without the nasty hassle of making a complicated wireframe.

i want it done right :(

all it is is this stupid program that seems to be playing up..

U ever used T:D workshop?

Anyway aside from the "stream read error" i get when importing, this has been pretty simple, slightly tedious i guess, but still pretty easy

Understandable, but still this could be a very useful work-around for those that can't make wireframes the "proper" way.

Sounds like a good plan, I'll probably do the same thing with the Vulcans.

OK, so I've been using the method you suggested Majestic, and for the most part it works great, but for 2 of the wireframes (out of about 14 I've done so far) I just get a white square. I've checked the sprite entry and the TGA file and I can't find anything wrong.

Any suggestions?

If the others are working it must have something to do with the TGA file. I would also triple check the spelling (both on the tga file and sprite entry) and make sure they (the wireframe) are in the textures/rgb.

White squares usually only appear when the texture/wireframe is missing from the folder so that is most likely the cause.

If it doesn't try re-converting it to TGA and see if that solved the problem and if you have any alphas on them try re-applying them.

Thanks for the help, re-exporting the TGA files solved it :)

Well, ive put it somewhere and ic ant remember where that is due to some "personalisation" of certain areas of my Computer, The search feature in windows is as useful as a chocolate tea pot.

But fear not i will find it!

I wouldn't go that far. :lol2:

I look forward to seeing the Oberth refit textured. I actually some some reference material somewhere of a TMP Oberth refit that uses Excelsior parts and looks cool. If you want I could see about digging it up and showing you, may give you inspiration. ;)

I second that, i think it'll look cool when textured.

wasnt the oberth a tmp ship anyway... why would they need to refit it so early on?

Nice idea with the design, and the MkII is fine for the name, I have loads of MkII's and even MkIII's in my game lol.

As its already been said I look forward to seeing it textured, if the Aurora is any indication then this should be great :)

(so either Syf, Majestic or Dan when i next see them on!)

If it's texturing advice you need I'm probably the wrong person to ask, though I should be able to give you a hand with most other problems. The biggest issue for me at the moment is having the time to go online lol.
