• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hi all,

I've been keeping this development on the down low, as I had to pass thru some hoops to get it all sorted.

A few months ago, I was dealing with the Starbase 400 RPG, doing commissioned artwork for them for their various fleet ships and projects. Their webmaster and founder Mike Bremer has Doug Drexler's ear and apparently pics were shared that led to some of the Trek alumni seeing my work.

Then on October 2022 I got this bombshell from the man himself. :yum:

I was really flattered for the second shot at the SOTL gig. I dropped whatever I was doing and basically put all hands on deck on preparing arrangements.

Initially, I wanted to submit a bespoke render from the ground up, an original piece. But as 2023 was fast approaching, the deadline got closer. To keep my slot open for 2024, I decided to bail on my original piece and get one of my pics "off the shelf".

It's a compromise I can live with and Doug has been gracious thru the process. He encourages new pieces from artists but we're backed up by deadlines, darn publishers lol. He shortlisted four pictures of mine, and there was one standout that really stood above the rest.

I was reticent to make any early public announcements so I wouldn't jinx it like my 2016 bid but I believe I had more experience with client work. And I had stepped up my game enough to make better submissions.

During the process Doug was busy with the post-production of Picard S3 so there was a lull of communication for a bit. I was told that his staff would finalize the selections come December and I awaited his final decision.

Then last week, the word was given by the man himself.

What followed was a fair bit of legal paperwork and a couple of monetary goodies that I can't fully disclose lol. It feels surreal to know that I've contributed in some way in an official Star Trek production.

Long story short, we are locked in for 2024 fellas, this is a wild ride!!! :y

Well gentlemen its been quite a wild ride this past year and the wait is over!

SOTL 2024 is locked in, and my lil' Warbird pic is in tow. :)

Jumping hoops rn, still unreal! :y

I've never actually bought a SOTL Calendar till now, so this year its extra special for me. Knowing one of your images are apart of this SOL - already placed an order!

Congrats JetFreak! You've made history.

Yeah, I'm really tempted to get one of these as well. The only question is where to put it.....

Why, on the fridge, of course :D

Seriously though; that's my problem too. I'm not going to be using it as a calendar, so I have no idea where to put it.
