as some of you may know, i absolutely love Ninja Gaiden not only is it a visually stunning game (for its times) it also has a great story and surprisingly involved gameplay.

while at a glance you do do a lot of "hack and slash" there are also puzzles, skills and tactics in this game.

in my opinion the first was the hardest game on the Xbox. it was certainly teh hardest game i ever played opn the Xbox. to this day i am unable to get past the 6th boss. however when i normally meet a game like this i think "screw it" and give up, but for some reason i feel compelled to try and beat the game, even after the first 7 nights i spent on the first boss.

This new one, while there are 2 difficulty settings (Easy and Hard), is still tricky, if you dont use your head, and the skills you aquire.

another thing i love about this game (and the first) is that these skills are accessable whether you have played teh game before, or just starting. for example.

a combo of X+X+Y+X is usable in the begining (it has a name, which i forget) and is a very powerful attack, giving you an advantage to help at the begining if you have played this before, or, in my case generally, if you are just lucky enough to button bash the right combination :lol2:

The array of weaponary is fantastic, im only on the 3rd chapter, and i already have 3 weapons.

The Dragon sword - (which you start with) which is a fantastic alrounder.

Lunar Staff - i rarely use this, but it seems to be the "slow but powerful"type

and finally

Falcon's Talons - these are basically fist (and foot) mounted blades, no range but lightening quick, and poerfull too, you get great combos and fantastic De-limbing possibilities.

Also, this game is exceptionally gory. so not for the squeemish.

The Best bit about this game (not because of the unadultorated Blood'n'guts) is that you can cut the limbs off of your foe, but, this makes them far more dangerous (I got over confident, and an enemy ninja, with no legs, and only one arm came crawling up to Ryu, but before i could do anything, it grabbed hold of Ryu and exploded, doing a LOT of damage)

To counter this you have an "Obliterate Technique" which gives your foe a cinematic and bloody end, should they be missing one or more limbs. should you buy the game, expect some spectacular looking deaths.

While i admit this game is not for everyone, if you liked the first you will love this, and it is definately worth a purchase.

Id like to see what other people think of this game as well,

I seen it in the gamer mags, but unfortunatly, I have spent all my money on things to make new games, and don't have an XBox360 nor PS3.

I rented it... it took me all of the five days I had it to reach the final boss... On easy... I don't want to try the Hard... Stupidly hard... and "You-must-be-a-masochist-to-try-this" difficulty levels.

I'm not sure 100% yet, but I think my dad is bringing me and my kids an XBox360 in the morning. He told my wife not to tell me, but he just bought a game system that cost $350.00. That sounds like an XBox 360 to me. The Wii is $200, and the PS3 is still $400-500 right now. And my last conversation with him was involving a part that my game engine that I'm developing new games on is portable to the 360. So either it's a 360, or the PS3. If it's a Wii, I'll tell him to take it back and go to another store to get it cheaper.

So, I may be looking that game up sooner than expected. We'll see in about 11 hours from now when he gets here.:)

Well, I got the Xbox360. I was off about the pricetag a tiny bit. it was $650 (with 2 games -GTA4 and C&C3-KW).

It'll be a couple weeks before I can cough up the dough for NG2.

One thing at a time. This time last week, I didn't have an XB360, and now, the floor of heaven opened up and one slid down to my house. Now Halo 3 and NG2 is already on the list of games to get relatively soon. But until then, I have GTA4 to master. C&C is just an added bonus to this already well placed icing on this cake.:)

I'll make note of that.

Now is this Ninja Gaiden a remake of the old original NES games?

remember with the 360, you need to download a patch that will allow it to run most old Xbox games, provided you have a hard drive
