I bring an update Galaxy class is nearing release. Also will have a version 1.2 of the Sovereign with some texture tweeks and an odf updates for new weapons. Next on the list is the Miranda Class We have a large batch of pics for your viewing enjoyment

Small update today with more to follow. Miranda has been riding the back burner as I tinker with the phaser configurations for the different variants. So I have been doing workups for several ships from First Contact. One of the by products of that is that I am now convinced that the 4 primary CGI models actually represent MK2 configuartions of these classes. with at in mind I plan on doing earlier TNG era styled marked models as well as the better known DS9 era style. So here we have a look at the first ship in that group Akira

Lookin good buddy...the only thing i would recommend is removing those pylon Phasers...as i don't believe the CG Akira from FC and DS9 had them...i think it had the dorsal and ventral saucer phasers but no pylon phasers...

Phasers were added to cover blind spots from the rear that a modern heavy cruiser wouldn't have. See the effects guys at all 3 places where CGI where done for FC, DS9, and VOY had a really bad habit of ignoring rear weapons on all the ships and the model made for FC was never intended for "hero" work. That means that when made they didn'n take into account hyper accuate surface detail or what equipment might be needed for "later episodes". So think of these as hero shooting models of these classes. I get to add all the extra details the ship needs and the model gets to look better and be more functional.

The model looks great, very clean texture mapping and lots of details. I suppose the pylon phaser arrays are a nice addition to the design, and I agree that was a blind-spot in that ship's defenses that shouldn't be there, specially for it's role.

Can I ask it's poly-count?

Keep it up!

She's 5934 but will have 5 lods when done so she should run like a 2500 to 3000 poly ship.

Next ship of the group; the Saber class. She will have 3 flavors, earlier TNG, FC, and 2380+. This is an improvement of my earlier release of Queball's Saber mesh.

All the available versions of the steamie are this dark grey tinge. I would like one that matches the rest of your fed ships.

I don't know if you can do textures though... I might need to ask jet to do a retexture of yours when its finished.

Thanks guys. It took about a week to figure out just the right balance of changes to get the Norway to look strong without changing the any of the overall design

I will. My ships trend toward a lot of HPs anyway because you need them to keep damage alocation balanced ingame.

I agree with everybody here, those models look amazing . And I agree with hardpoints, because they can help get things to work more accurately, but I also think that depends on the model, so each model requieres their own HPs numbers and placements. So do what you think is best and keep it up!.
