Thanks, I am hoping tomorrow or later in the week to texture her so she can be considered complete and I can move onto the next design.

EDIT: Update, I started started work on texturing the NTB-630. Currently after a few hours I have the main parts texture and will tomorrow or later in the week start on the finer details.

I'm about 40% through with the texturing on the 630, and I like to wait till they are complete before displaying them to the public. In the mean time I have come up with an idea for an additional Rebel unit. The Fire Barge, as seen in Return of the Jedi, GR-75 Transports were packed with explosives and used as suicidal runs and I want to re-created this in-game.

So another quick texture alteration and bingo a new model, more or less.

Next update, will hopefully show the completed NTB-630.

I'm curious, when would we be able to see Imperial Shuttles, Landers, and specialized TIE Fighter variants?

I only plan to have the TIE Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, Avenger and Defender. I may also do TIE Advanced x1 (aka Darth Vader's TIE Fighter) but that is it for TIE Fighters. I may one day go back and do a fighter only mod where I can do more fighters for different factions and turn it into a sort of Parallels successor. But I won't be doing that for quite sometime.

Looking great on the progress Maj, keep it up brother.

Thanks and great to see you here, haven't heard from you in ages.

Looking good keep it comming:thumbsup:

I certainly will, net up will be the NTB-630. Hopefully in a day or two she'll be ready. :D

Yeah, I've been a busy body with the transition to a new rig and all. Say, you still up for some releases? I just got my A2 copy restored. :D

Really loving that NTB630 btw, would love some custom paint schemes on that design. I also like the tweaks you've done on the weathering texture of the transports.

Great to hear you're back with us, yes I have the Corellian Gunships just sitting and waiting. I still have the cannons and such to add to the Y-wing but she is almost ready to go too.

Thanks, I am hoping to get the NTB done before the weekend. I still have a bit to do on her, though I am not going into as much detail on her as I did with the X-wing and Y-wing.

As promised here is the NTB-630 bomber, the texture is close to complete I do think I'll be messing around with it a bit more. Might add a little more detail, however she is pretty much complete as she stands now.

The above images are of the Republic version, I plan to do a Zann version as soon as I finish the texture of the Republic version.

Thanks Jet, glad you like her. I plan to release her along with the Y-wing and DP Gunships soon. So expect some emails in the next week or so.

Meanwhile here the NTB next to my current Rebel Fighters.

EDIT: I also forgot to add this some time back, the Interdictor Star Destroyer.

Utterly impressive stuff Maj. You've certainly done the NTB some much needed justice. The texture looks spot on.

Great work man:thumbsup::thumbsup:

As always thanks Starfox.

They are modified ones that Evillejedi originally did, I just changed the background using a modified texture of his Allegiance texture.

Thanks, there is still some finer detail that I want to add, mostly on the pylons and cabin. I am thinking of doing the V-wing next, I missed doing fighters.

Thanks Dan, I hope you like this to. Today's work was very productive.

One of my earliest fighter models, the Alpha-3 Nimbus fighter, know more commonly as the V-wing was a Kuat designed fighter for the Grand Army of the Republic and one of the predecessors of the TIE series of fighters and served as the mainline Imperial fighter during the early years of the Galactic Empire.

Vwing_01.png Vwing_02.png Vwing_03.png Vwing_04.png Vwing_05.png

While texturing this I discovered that there is a severe lack of decent references of this design, and the ones available contradict each other and with no reference of the underside or rear end and vague ones of the solar panels on the inside of the wings I did my best to guess and make something up that would work. I think it turned out quite well and I am very happy with it (yes you your heard right).

Next fighter on my list I plan to model and is a fan made one which I just got orthos today to do. Quite excited to get this one done as it's an awesome design by a friend from DA. :)

Thanks Dan, I am quite proud of her.

With a quick texture change, I now have an imperial version.

Gorgeous textures, as always Maj. I must nitpick though. Take it with a grain of salt please.

I believe, these sections are too small. Vwing_IMP_01.png

Oh, may I ask how many polys she has too?

I'm always open to constructive criticism and I believe you may be right, it's rather hard as many reference material contradict one another. How is this?

Definitely better, but I personally think they should be bigger. I am probably too obsessed with detail though. I have been kicking myself about the time I spent getting mine "just right" when you can barely even see them in my mod.*facepalm*

Besides the physical models I refer to, I usually use this as the reference. High res book scan

I feel any bigger and they will not look right. I think I'll keep them the way they are as I studied the reference you provided along with some of my own and think I'll settle with what I got but thanks for the help.

Yeah that's the problem with fighters, they are so small. A reason why I decided to have four fighters per single texture to help with the processing of fighters in-game. I am also trying not to go over the 1800 mark. While a bit high for fighters, it allows me to use it in more than one role. An example is a small mod I am thinking of producing with my fighters, where fighters are the main force and you build no capital ships.

I've always wanted to do something like that, but never got around to it. I might give it a shot after I get some more fighter models done. :)

Yeah, I have always wanted to do something like that, but it would be very difficult. I always assumed you would have a single carrier which you had to protect, as you have to have a way of getting new fighters and then some gameplay beyond that.

A carrier, a base or something similar would have to work as a shipyard/warp-in station. It would be tricky to do as the physics would need to be overhauled so to give a feel of fighters. But if successful it would be a great achievement.

The problem I have is that your carrier would have to be stationary because technically, the carrier would move a lot faster than fighters(something I usually ignore in my mods:angel:)

Who says the carrier needs to move? It could be set up as damaged, in an asteroid field or something.
