• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

One question though.....

...If you have detached nacelles, what do you need pylons for?

@SciFiFan Something to dock them to I guess

It's their sand box I was just try to play in it

@kjc733
As to the holes the only thing I can think of is .. The hole could be use for mission equipment pod slots points

It only thing I can think of given they have Programmable matter is/an substance used in the 32nd century. Consisting of minute nanomolecules, the matter has the abilities of redistributing and redesigning itself into pre-programmed shapes.

My reason it one two parts

One it is not a good Ideal on a to have overly complex drive systems

Quote

" The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain." ~ Montgomery Scott after sabotaging Excelsior Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Two tactically it not sound

Over forces compaction automation that can fail in combat and spreads out the shield wreaking them.

Yeah I know it's not a very popular choice (with fans) and in combat it could be a liability. I think it was purely done (like the programmable matter) to make the timeframe look far more advanced than anything we've seen before. Same with the combadges and transporter effect. Purely so the 32nd century looks far more advanced than the 24th and 29th centuries we've seen in other Trek series.

Did anyone else notice that when she jumped the nacelles reattached?

Back in April 2018 (damn has it been that long!?) Hellkite designed a tactical cousin to the Seeker class named the Resolution. I started working on it in good faith and for various reasons never got around to finishing it.
It is long past time for it to come off the WIP list, so I knuckled down and did what every long suffering engineer does best... I roped Jetfreak into helping :lol2:

Anyway Hellkite, I hope she was worth the wait.

Why thank you. I'm glad she meets your approval.
Jetfreak deserves a lot of credit too, he's done a brilliant job very quickly (and with all the curves it couldn't have been easy).

A model suitable for A2 will appear at some point, but will require some reverse engineering.

OMG, y'all kill me! First I fall in love with the Seeker and want to use that in my project, but then you pull this rabbit out of the hat and now I want to use her! I want to use both but I can't use them both at the same time, and don't want to blow up one ship to get another one.

I have a question which may help me solve my dilemma... What year do you imagine the Resolution went into production? Jet put 92379 as the registry number -- could that be the year this prototype flew out of the shipyard, thereby making the class rather common by the time of say, the Picard era?

Hello:
I agree with Majestic! The fleet needs the support ships and can't always be about the fancy cruisers
