• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. Sorry for the late update, but between getting my dad ready to have his knee replaced next week, me getting my wisdom teeth removed surgically (they are so putting me to sleep) at the end of this week, renting KOTR for the first time, and the plethora of menial tasks my parents are coming up with for me to do around the house because they think I should stay busy during the summer... Well, they aren't the ones that won't be able to eat anything more solid than a heavily steamed carrot for the next sev... er.... al.... days...

Nevermind, enjoy the new quote.

This week my reasons are better this time around; my dad had he knee replaced yesterday and I've haven't been able to even get the site to load for the last 3 days.

So here it is.

Edit: I just programmed my phone to remind me every saturday to change it. Cross your fingers.

Look, it's not that I don't understand. Heck, I've had two of my oldest friends get hit and killed by cars in the last six months . . . but the way I see it, maybe they're better off. Chances are they are the ones pitying us for not being where they are . . . . so that's how I do it. I think of them in a better world than this one.

Hehe, my ones would be:

"The 'L' in CENTCOM stands for leadership..." (LtCol, CENTCOM)

and since we had the 06-06-06 recently:
"Ya know, in this Command, if the world were supposed to end tomorrow, it would still happen behind schedule." CWO4 (Chief Warrant Officer) (ret) (EUCOM)

but a qoute that always makes my day:
"I need intelligence, not information." Maj (EUCOM)

President Whitmore: Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind, that word should have new meaning to all of us. We cannot be consumed by our petty differences anymore. Perhaps it is fate that today is the fourth of July, and we will once again be fighting for our freedom. But not for freedom from tyrrany or oppression or persecution. We're fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world stood up and declared in one voice that we will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

Another presifdential speech to the end of mankind:

"This is ... This is the president. I have just been informed that our midrange military bases at beta derony and promixa three have fallen to the Minbari advance. We have lost contact with Io and must conclude that they to have fallen to an advanced force. Our military intelligence believes that Minbari intend to by pass Mars and hit Earth directly and the attack may come at any time. We have continued to broadcast our surrender and a plea for mercy and they have not responded. We therefore can only conclude that we stand at the twilight of the Human race. In order to buy more time for our evacuation transports to leave Earth, we ask for support of every ship capable of fighting, to take part in a defense of our homeworld. We will not lie to you. We do not believe survival is a possibility. We believe that anyone who joins this battle, will never come home again. But for every ten minutes, we can delay the military advance, several hundred more civilians may have a chance to escape to neutral territory. Though Earth may fall, the Human race must have a chance to continue else where. No greater sacrifice has every been asked of a people, but I ask you now, to step forward one last time. One last battle to hold the line against the night! May God go with you all."

"The universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice.
The language is not Narn, or Human, or Centauri, or Gaim or Minbari
It speaks in the language of hope
It speaks in the language of trust
It speaks in the language of strength and the language of compassion
It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul.
But always it is the same voice
It is the voice of our ancestors, speaking through us,
And the voice of our inheritors, waiting to be born
It is the small, still voice that says
We are one
No matter the blood
No matter the skin
No matter the world
No matter the star:
We are one
No matter the pain
No matter the darkness
No matter the loss
No matter the fear
We are one
Here, gathered together in common cause, we agree to recognize the
singular truth and this singular rule:
That we must be kind to one another
Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us and each voice lost
diminishes us.
We are the voice of the Universe, the soul of creation, the fire
that will light the way to a better future.
We are one.
We are one."

Well, it's here. The 4th of July, ain't it . . . Happy Independence Day!!

Remember one thing; what God has given us, let no man take from us. He can take life, love and home, but let him not take our indepedence, for without it we are nothing. Long Live America!

"Welcome to Earth!"
- Will Smith, after that Impressive punch in ID4

"In the words of my fore-fathers . . . Up Yours!!!"
- The crazy pilot that flys into the Alien's main weapon. Randy Quaid's Character . . .

That there be Family, I rejoice. That there be Love, I rejoice. That there be Peace, I rejoice. Alas, I cannot rejoice in them, for there is War, and Family and Love are torn asunder. But I can rejoice in the knowledge that as long as we are Free, we might one day cease the Wars, and then will Peace and Love reign within our global Family, and all shall be as Sister and Brother. And in that day, shall we gain our Independence from all that keeps us on this lowly Earth, and release ourselves unto the Stars above, as one People, the Family of Earth . . .
- A wish for us all, I think . . .

This isn't a quote, exactly, but remember in Generations when Worf got his hat and Riker said "Computer: Remove the plank!". The look on Worf's face was . . . priceless!!

"Time is like a fire in which we burn."
and it's answer
"I think of time as a friend"
by Soran and Picard

"Star Trek is nothing but a bunch of trash that some stupid idiot made up to make a fast buck."
- An idiot. Considering that he was standing in the middle of a lot of Trek fans when he said it. What he said wasn't funny. What he looked like afterwards was . . .

Should have done this one last week . . . oh well . . .
"Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blessed with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!"

Ok, here's the new quote.

And also a touching poem I came across during the week. It's too long to be a Quote of the Week but I still wanted to share it.

Note: While looking for another thread I came across the Poetry thread and have moved it there.

Here's the newest quote. And for those of you who haven't seen or don't remember the episode this is from, all the "two hundred and eighty-five thousand hails" are from some form or another of the Enterprise.

The little addition I placed at the bottom will remain up until the end of the month.

"I don't care how you do it, just get it done!"
"Ok" (followed by sound of garbage bin opening & closing)
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?!?!?"
"You said get it done. It's done, ain't it?"
- A friend's response to a pissy boss. He was quitting that day anyhow . . . :)

^ And I'm sure none will ask . . .

To understand freedom, try to imagine yourself as the Eagle. If you can feel the flight, and see the world from up there without need of a metal cage, then you can understand freedom. It is a pity, then, that most cannot think beyond the window . . .

My mom sent me this today and I've decided it's my quote of the day.

Harrie's Mom said:
'Be careful what you ask for, Akmed!'

The Iranian Ambassador to the UN had just finished giving a speech
and walked out into the lobby where he met President Bush.

They shook hands, and as they walked, the Iranian said, "You know,
I have just one question about what I have seen in America".

President Bush said, "Well, anything I can do to help you, I will."

The Iranian whispered, "My son watches this show 'Star Trek' and
in it there is Chekhov who is Russian, Scotty who is Scottish, and
Sulu who is Chinese, but no Arabs".

"My son is very upset and doesn't understand why there aren't any
Iranians on Star Trek."

President Bush laughed, leaned toward the Iranian Ambassador, and
whispered back, "It's because it takes place in the future".
