• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Your not useless I am mearly friendly with one of the most senior admins. Even they didn't know much more than I said though.

I'm not a popular figure at all. I'm the admin that gets blamed for everything that goes wrong.

Elrond... Don't beat yourself up over being "out of the Loop". I'm sure that it has nothing to do with your popularity among peers. It more of a communications failure between the staff. I would only suggest that All admins of the site work on that. If the site is going to be going down often during this upgrade period, then all Admin should be informed aa.s.a.p. I think you can blame poor leadership, not yourself.

If your not happy with how your being treated by your fellow admins, then you should let them know. If it's a communications issue, then maybe it's time to organize an alert system between the admins.

If the site goes down often and there are no answers about what's happening, then the site is letting down it's members. With any site, if the members can't get to it half the time because it's down, then soon they would stop going to it.

Since the site is still down, I will leave this thread open for now. Once the site is announced up again (and stays up for atleast 3 days), I will be happy to lock this thread since it's purpose is served.

I demoted my rank there to Commodore, to perhaps make it look as if I'm not an admin, so I don't share as much blame so easily.

I keep in contact with the other admins once in a while, but I think it's part my problem as i don't get on MSN enough to talk anyways...

At the moment, AFC is back up, probably has been for about a few hours at least. I hope to see it up longer hopefully. There are a number of server problems apparently. I don't really know what it is, all I know is that it's a catastrophe when it happens twice. One week is bad enough. Kinda scary. I'm backing up AFC's file lists and such to make sure that someone has a backup LoL.

That's a good Idea. Don't want AFC to suffer the same thing as SFM.

Well, just work on your communication issues with the other admins. That could help fix that issue. It's always a 50-50 thing. blame is 2(or more) ways. No need to "demote" yourself.

It was a logical choice. I don't post much anyways, and being in hiding at the moment seems a good idea. I figure I'm about involved in the issue as I'm gonna get, which is not involved at all, and I'll prefer it if I stay that way for a good long time. I could just remain a spectator as I have been. Building up walls between the admins isn't a good idea, but my opinion is that things would only be worse if I were involved. It's up to Mav and MaP now. Phantom and Porty seem to be out of the loop as well. I suppose it's not just me. I've been eliminating my involvement in online activities lately anyways. It isn't compatible with my new sleeping habits (early to bed, early to rise).

ooh and WTH is SFM?

And Elrond if you are admin moderator is supossed that you go to have some responsibilty and to end the people cna blame you whit any reason, don't get angry, pissed or anithing because that men.

SMF is a type of forum, like phpBB, vBulletin, Invision Power Board (IPB), MyBB, etc.

Anyway, my demotion to commodore on AFC is a way to keep myself away from looking like I'm an admin for the moment. I'm in supposed hiding.

I got no email. I don't seem to get any emails from AFC, they have just started again today but for the last few months I got nothing, no emails about new replies even. :confused:

Heck yeah, and I love it LoL. The other admins are taking care of stuff more than I am so it's only fair. There is one other admin there who doesn't have an admin rank, but that is classified LoL.

Oh, I'm actually more like Hitler LoL.

Josh, you just LOVE to commpare yourself to Hitler don't you? I've heardd it on Phoenix Alliance, I've heardd it here now. I jjust dare you to do it againn. I would say that would have to be a badd idea.

As for AFC, ur bllaming yourself for something you didn't do, taking blame for sometthing that wasn't even close to anything to do with you. As you said, their commpany moved the servver and that's all that hhappened. If you can tell me how that is yyour fault, then I'd like to hear thiss one.
