• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Those of you here who are members on AFC (Armada Fleet Command) may have noticed that that site is currently down...has been for three days apparently. As an admin there, I don't even know what's going on. Another forum admin there also declared that he doesn't have any idea what's going on either. Kind of worried about that. Haven't seen the site down for that long before. Hopefully it will turn out for the best and AFC comes back up soon. If it was going to close, I'm sure we would have been informed by now, so that must not be the case.

That is troubling news. I hope nothing bad has happened. If something is happening, and AFC is down for long term, I would like to offer all those AFC members a membership here on MSFC. If there is a way to contact them, we will take them in. We will keep a light on for AFC.

If I could get into contact with some AFC members, I could direct them to a downloads area I have prepared, but I'd need to contact MajorPayne first to ask if that will be alright. Chances are, they'll come back, but if not.....

Wooh.. Its been a week, are you sure this is not a premanent thing.., i've heard of downtimes but a week.. seem's unlikely:thumbsdown:

Don't be silly, if the site was going to be perminantly down, MajorPayne, Elrond and Cecil would know. Also the site that host AFC is still saying that it does host AFC. This implys that it is a bug not a perminant deliberate closure.

I had a problem with my server a while ago, which caused a lot of downtime, so it does happen and MAP and AFC would of also informed all the members about a closure if that was the case.

Thus we enter into the second week, and I've heard nothing from anyone yet. I get on MSN, no one wants to talk to me about it, so I figure, I'm left out of the loop about it. I know less about it than most other AFC members do now.

honestly you are all being, no offence, stupid. I have spoken to Major Payne and he doesn't know whats going on. If the site was going to close perminatly he would no. This could be a varity of smaller problems.

It was a server problem, these things do happen and are unavoidable.

According to certain sources within the AFC command they were changing the server they were running from and it ended up taking a bit of time for the transfere and set up.

I just love being a useless admin there while basically everyone else knows what's going on. Heck, I had someone ask me what was going on with AFC today, because it's down again, and my response, as is my response for EVERYTHING was, I don't know. Heh, I don't know crap.

AFC is actually down right now at this moment. It will be back up anyways, so I agree with Tib on this. I guess this topic is free for closing.
