I was just wondering how many people watch the show 24 that is on Fox? It is now in its 5th season. The last 2 episodes are on Monday. Then the 5th season will be over. I personally like the format the show has. 1 season=24 episodes. Also 1 season takes place in a single day. So, every episode is an accuall hour in the day that the season takes place. They even have a nice counter to tell you the time. Also it is set around the Counter Terrorist Unit in LA,California. The main charater is named Jack Bower played by Kiefer Sutherland. I enjoy it alot. Since star trek has nothing new. This is the one show I never miss a new episode of. I arrange to have 2 or 3 people record it if I can't watch it. That way I know if someone forgets to record it then I can still see it. It is an awesome show. Everyone show see it. Here is the official link:

http://www.fox.com/24/

I think the site can let you see enough of the show that if you don't know of it then it can give a good idea of everything that happens. It is a good site. Well, what does everyone else think of this show and site?

Last night while watching American Dad, 7 ran an ad for Day 5. It is coming on Wednesday June 21 presumably at 9:30pm since Prison Break on Wednesdays at 8:30pm won't be finished in its first season by then.

The moment it came on I so knew that it was 24.

In a follow-up to 24's return, Madds posted this at Buffy Down Under:

Yes I was slightly confused with the Prison Break line-up. Was hard to track in All States so here is the official status so far:

Wednesday June 7th
Episode 18 & 19 in Sydney & Brisbane
Episode 18 in Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth

Wednesday June 14th
No Prison Breakin any state. There will be some other Special.

Wednesday June 21st
Episode 20 in Sydney & Brisbane
Episode 19 in Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth.

I don't see how they would start 24 with Prison Break being one week behind in some states. Would have made more sense to screen Episode 19 in Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth on June 14th when State Of Origin is on and then everyone on Episode 20 on June 21st. Oh well. Maybe with the 3rd State Of Origin Game, Channel Seven had one extra Wednesday where they wanted Prison Break in Southern States. Who knows but the above line-up is correct for now."

The 24 movie which has been in the pipeline for a while is now official:

"24 movie official
By Colin Mahan - TV.com

Fox makes deal with show creators for a script.

Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. Jack Bauer is going to the movies, and he hates it when you talk on your cell phone.

Variety reports that Twentieth Century Fox, the studio behind the Kiefer Sutherland action series, has signed deals with show creators Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow and show-runner Howard Gordon to create a big-screen version of the show. Cochran and Surnow will write the script this summer, while working on season six of the series, with an eye toward shooting the movie between seasons six and seven.

Whether or not the script gets a green light rests on the ratings when 24 returns next season. If the ratings are good and the film gets the green light to go into production, Sutherland has already stated he would be very amenable to reprising his role of federal agent Jack Bauer in a movie.

24 tells the story of Jack Bauer as he fights terrorists with--and sometimes without--the help of a fictional Los Angeles agency called Counter Terrorist Unit. The show plays out in real time, where one hour of the show equals one hour of the day, and each season is one day.

Cochran and Surnow say they would most likely change the real-time format of the series, instead allowing the film to play out over an extended period of time. Producers are exploring international locales such as London as possible backdrops for the film.

This season, 24 saw a 14 percent improvement in ratings. In April, Fox signed Sutherland to a $40 million deal for three more seasons of the show."

:excited: I finally saw the season finale of season 5... That was sweet.

I must say though my favorite episode was in season 4 when Jack rescued the Sec. of defense from the terrorist just before he was executed.

Saw a couple of ads on 7 one to say that it will shown twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday and had to laugh about the choice of song that was played during it - "Have a Nice Day." The other has it quoting from journalists and showing people on the street in the States saying how great the season is going to be. I am looking forward to this brand new Day.

Alan Dale had played Vice President Jim Prescott with most of his appearances being in Day 2. if people remember Day 2 that was when the Cabinet met as a result of the 25th amendment being invoked. The West Wing season 4 was originally shown at the same time as 24 Day 2. Funny thing about this is in The West Wing season 4 finale appropriately named Twenty Five which was on the ABC on Thursday night it too had the Cabinet meeting as a result of the 25th amendment being invoked. Ironically one of the Cabinet members, the Commerce Secretary was played by Alan Dale.

24 on June 28 comes fifth place in TV WEEK's highlights of the day.

Yesterday I finished watching The West Wing episode 7A WF 83429 which included the second of three appearances by Geoff Pierson (President Keeler) as a Senator. I did not have a chance to comment on this before but Geoff Pierson played Keeler on 24 originally as a Senator. He performed his Senate duties on two different shows!!!

Day 5 on Australian TV

7AM-9AM:
18 months after Day 4.
James Morrison (Bill Buchanan), Gregory Itzin (Charles Logan), Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe O'Brian), Louis Lombardi (Edgar Stiles) after previously having appear in the series in a recurring role have now been added to regular credits. Also included is complete newcomer Jean Smart as First Lady Martha Logan. Since Sherry Palmer was already divorced from David when he became President, this is the first time that we have seen a First Lady in the series.
DB Woodside who last appeared as Wayne Palmer, David's brother in the last hour of Day 3 is back again on the show.
Unfortunately I found out by accident beforehand that former President Palmer is assassinated however the shock was still there. I however did not expect Michelle to be killed off while Tony's life hangs in the balance. It is so sad that Michelle is gone.
Chloe soon runs away as it becomes clear that this all has something to do with Jack.
Jack now under a different name now lives with a woman Diane and her suspicious son Derek. It was really stupid of him to follow him.
CTU now finds out that Jack is still alive but gets fake evidence from a video surveillance of him shooting Palmer. They seem to believe it was him who killed Palmer because it has been authenticated. Haven't they learned from Day 2 that authenticated evidence can still be a fake?
When Jack walks into Wayne's penthouse I was thinking, what if Wayne comes in and recognises Jack and moments later that is exactly what happened.
When 24 goes on an ad break it has usually been preceded by the time on the clock however halfway through when Jack meets Wayne at his penthouse it had a watermark of 24 instead.
I wonder who is that guy who is calling the shots.
We as the audience seemed to think that Martha is imagining things about the exact nature of Palmer's phonecall to her only we found out that it has been doctored by Walt who turns out to be a traitor.

The wait was worth it.

This 24 on 7 is from its 5th season. Funnily enough the ABC is showing The West Wing which is also from its fifth season!!!

Just noticed on TV.com that there was a prequel to Day 5 on the season 4 DVD (presumably only on Region 1):
"The Season 4 DVD set contains a 10-minute bonus prequel that helps set up events for Day 5. One year after Day 4, Chloe meets Jack in Chicago and warns him that unknown people hacked into her system and are looking at his fake autopsy. Jack deduces that someone knows he's alive. Jack is then pursued by an unknown assailant who is eventually killed during the car chase. The prequel was sponsored by Toyota and was filmed to help create buzz for 24's fifth season."

Day 5 on Australian TV

9AM-11AM:
It was good to see Jack being trusted again despite the evidence against him.
Aaron appears for the first time this Day.
Could not believe the way that Martha got that entry card.
Derek was about to be executed but Jack saved him by triggering off an explosion.
Just as everything was fine at Jack's end, Walt finds out about him as he was present in the room when Logan was told about this by Bill. Therefore Beresch gets to know about it as well.
Beresch wanted the treaty to be stopped but at the same time Walt tells Logan to go ahead. This makes me think whether he is trying to keep up the pretence or is there a real reason why he wants him to sign it. It soon became obvious from President Suvarov's comment that the signing of the treaty in the event of the failure of a rescue attempt at the terminal would make it a mockery.
Sean Astin all of a sudden pops up as Lynn McGill and subtlely takes over Bill's office. He managed to figured that Jack has given them a warning of him being held hostage.
Therefore it was good to see how surprised the terrorists were with CTU's change of plan.
The crisis at the terminal is now over and the treaty signed but the yellow tie man who pretended to be a hostage but was actually working with Beresch disappears.
It took me some time to notice that the yellow tie man is Mark Sheppard. Yet another person to have appeared in the Joss Whedon universe to turn up on 24.
We find out about the nuclear cannisters hidden underneath the terminal. It looks like the hostage situation was a distraction in order to get the cannisters.
Absolutely unbelievable what Walt does to Martha at the end of the latter hour.

I should also mentioned that 10AM-11AM of this Day was 24's 100th hour.

Defence Secretary Heller has been played by William Devane. This was not the first time that he has played a member of the US administration. He had appeared as the Secretary of State in The West Wing episodes The Dogs of War & Jefferson Lives. In the latter episode he played the President's choice as Vice President but was withdrawn due to objections of his suitability being Vice President. William Devane made a political comeback by becoming President on Stargate SG-1 but gets demoted to Defence Secretary here on 24. As Defence Secretary, Heller had first served under President Keeler played by Geoff Pierson. In The West Wing, objections made to Devane's character becoming Vice President included the Senate Minority leader Senator Tripplehorn ironically played by Pierson.

Day 5

11AM-12PM:
Sean Astin is not a regular and his name appears under the bland "Guest Starring" label.
Josie Di Vincenzo (Agent Mara) is very pretty.
This is the first time 24 veteran Jon Cassar has directed for this season.
Walt says he has someone on the inside in CTU and just and it turns out to be Spencer. Unlike previous moles in CTU, Spencer is discovered very quickly.
Diane gets debrief by Audrey. Not the first time that two of Jack's women being seen together awkwardly. After all this brings in mind, Teri and Nina in Day 1.
During an ad break, a preview of Kiefer Sutherland's new movie The Sentinel which looks as if he is playing a similar role to Jack Bauer.
A very tense shot of Jack, Audrey and Diane.
Just as Martha was told she is going away, was not surprised that she sneaked out.
This hour lacks action as it is more about taking a breather. That is until the final few minutes when Jack fought and killed an assassin with a pair of scissors. (This was very gruesome.)
Spencer gets the Jack treatment of interregation and we find out that he is not a traitor but someone who has been duped.
Watch out Walt, Jack is coming after you.

Day 5 on Australian TV

12PM-1PM:
Co-Executive Producer David Fury's first episode as a writer. His previous work includes Buffy, Angel and Lost. There is a character called Agent Finn, no doubt named after Riley Finn on Buffy.
So much for a secure line as the mysterious man and Walt listened in on Jack and Mike's phone conversation.
Very tense moment with Jack and Audrey talking to each other on the phone.
In his explanation to President Logan, Walt says he did what he had to do because he was a patriot not a traitor. There are always people who can't tell the difference. Unfortunately Walt convinced Logan of his intentions which saw Jack getting arrested as he was meeting Mike.
Jack and Aaron finally have a scene together.
The shocker of the hour would be when Jack was holding a knife to Walt's face.
After Walt is arrested, I felt awkward seeing Jack and Logan together.
Things does not look good for the Logans as Charles calls off Martha's trip to Vermont.
The last few minutes were great as the cannisters were missing with Agent Finn dead and the detonators missing. Not even Walt could have anticipated the new direction of the terrorists' plans.

Day 5 on Australian TV

1PM-3PM:
For 1PM-2PM, TV.com says this: "Senator John McCain has a brief cameo as a man who hands Audrey a folder during one of the split screen sequences." Knew he looked familiar.
Quite surprised to see Jacob Rossler being played Patrick Bauchau from Carnivale.
Martha slapping Charles was something that came out of nowhere. In fact she seems to be a much more confident Martha than what we saw before.
Felt horrified when Rossler included Inessa as part of deal.
Knew straightaway when Mike called President Logan that Walt was dead.
Lynn meets his drug addicted sister outisde the CTU building only for it to be a setup for an ambush to rob him which he then covers up his injury from his colleagues. Looks like we are going to wait to see the relevance of this to main storyline.
I thought it was quite interesting that just as Jack is trying to find Kim, he helps out Inessa. Absolutely shocked when Inessa pulls a gun and killed Rossler.
Was worried about Jack pretending to be Rossler since Erwich could recognise him.
Just as Logans seem to patch things up together there is a rift between them on how to handle the announcement of Walt's death as Charles on Mike's advice makes him out as a hero. Recognised Timothy Omundson from Xena as one of the terrorist Polakov.
I so knew that Jack was not going through with the deaths of the people in the mall.
Like it when Jack took off his mask for a girl to wear as he gets her out of the mall.

As 7 announced it was going to finished off Day 5 in just four weeks, noticed Peter Weller in one of the clips for the future hours. Wonder who is suppose to be.

Funnily enough just this morning, I finished seeing the Buck Rogers episode A Dream of Jennifer which to my surprise featured briefly Dennis Haysbert. Of all the places to find him in.

5PM-7PM on July 13 gets four stars from Who Magazine.

Also I recently realised that in a bizarre coincidence, I now watch three shows that has a character call Logan: 24, Point Pleasant & Veronica Mars.

Day 5

3PM-5PM:
Julian Sands appears for the first time as Vladimir Bierko and kills Erwich.
Nathanson soon gets killed himself but manages to give Jack a vital chip.
The relevancy of Lynn's sister and her boyfriend Dwayne now seems apparent as Dwayne contemplates using Lynn's keycard for his own purposes.
We find out that as a result of the chip the centox came from the company in which a Christopher Henderson is a Senior Vice President and he is played by Peter Weller. It is revealed that Henderson recruited Jack into CTU and we get a reminder of how we first got to know Jack and that is he ratted out corrupt elements of CTU.
Definitely do not want to have Lynn as my boss.
Very shocking when Martha got into the limo with the Suvarovs.
Quite impressive seeing Audrey and Lynn arguing with each other.
Audrey uses the alias Jane Espenson. Obviously named after Co-Executive Producer David Fury's colleague on Buffy. That came out as a pleasant surprise.
The music sounded very impressive after 4:30.
Like the interplay between Audrey, Chloe and Edgar.
Very tense moment when Curtis finally relieves Lynn.
My eyes was definitely stuck on the screen as the ambush on the Suvarov motorcade happened.
For a moment there I thought Aaron was dead, thankfully he wasn't.
When Henderson asked Jack who is in charge of CTU he replied that it was Bill. However I don't see how it would be apparent that he contacted CTU after Lynn had been relieved.
Henderson mentions Nina and George. This marks the first season which does not feature either character at all to get a mention.
For a moment I thought that Henderson was innocent to all this until it turns out that he been part of the terrorists all along as he tried unsuccessfully to kill Jack.

This Day is getting better and better.

Day 5

5PM-7PM:
Sean Astin is finally credited as 'Special Guest Star".
So delighted upon seeing Jobeth Williams (Miriam).
Tony finally finds out that Michelle is dead.
Martha and Aaron. Ooh... that is definitely something I do not want to see.
Shocking when Jack shot Miriam in the leg in order to force Henderson to tell him what he wants to know.
Dwayne is such an idiot trying to sell the keycard as he and Jenny are killed for it.
For the second time in the same day someone has sneaked into CTU. What are chances of this actually happening?
Ray Wise appears for the first time as Vice President Hal Gardner and suggests to President Logan on calling for martial law without the approval of Congress. So much for checks and balances.
Elisha Cuthbert finally returns as Kim and she looks lovelier than ever. We learn that Chase has left her. I thought she took the news from Audrey of Jack still being alive very calmly and without any shock at all.
Really hated seeing Carrie killed.
Oh my Edgar gets killed from the nerve gas. What a shocking end as yet another major character is killed off. To commerate the death of the CTU staff, the clock is silent as it reaches 7PM for the first time since the death of Ryan Chapelle in Day 3: 6AM-7AM. It was a very gripping end to these two hours.
After this installment ended Julian Sands was once again seen on 7 in the Stargate SG-1 episode Origin which came immediately afterwards.

9PM-11PM on July 20 gets four stars from Who Magazine.

Day 5

7PM-9PM:
Just before these two hours started I saw Julian Sands in an ad for Law & Order: Criminal Intent on 10 shown during an ad break of House.
Elisha Cuthbert deservedly is credited as "Special Guest Star".
Martha saying that Gardner is trying to bring Charles' downfall brings into mind Prescott moving against Palmer in Day 2.
The music is great especially when Lynn goes to the computer.
With Kim and Chloe talking about Chase wondered if he is going to turn up later this Day as well.
Very depressing seeing Lynn and his guard dying.
For a crisis like this one would think it would bring people closer together but instead Kim still gives Jack the cold shoulder.
In the statement prepared by Gardner it used the words "emergency peace keeping force". Wow some way to describe martial law.
7PM-8PM was really a very good Kleenex hour with Bierko making much of his appearance during the last few minutes.
As if experiencing the gas wasn't bad enough now CTU is undergoing a change of command with Homeland Security stepping in.
Tony dies, really shocked to see him died as well.
Looks like there is more of Wayne Palmer to see.
Quite a surprise Theo Stoller turning out to be a German agent.
That Homeland Security guy looked really spooky.
Really tense when Chloe downloaded the information from NSA. Too bad she got caught.
Love the music when Collette is caught and the NSA information as Theo tried to access it. Should have known that Jack was not going to give that information.
Couple of shockers at the end-
The first Wayne Palmer gets attacked and is chased by people wanting to kill him. Is Gardner trying to kill him.
The second is Collette saying that the name of her source is......Audrey!!!

A couple of hours after 7PM-9PM finished saw Dennis Haysbert again in Buck Rogers this time in the episode The Guardians and appears much more than his previous two appearances.

Day 5

9PM-11PM:
So glad that Audrey turned out not to be a traitor.
I suddenly realised why Jayne Atkinson (Karen Hayes) looked so familiar. She was from the Free Willy movies.
Once again loved the music in this installment.
Amazing how we were led to believe that it was Gardner who was behind all this, however I began to have doubts as it reaches the end as it turned out to be.......Logan.
