 Wow, great screenshots. *Terra_Inc admires his new wallpaper*

By the way, that Cerebus thingy... never seen it before. Which kind of Colonial vessel is that?

The Cerebus (should it be Cerberus?) looks like a modified Valkyrie. Search for "battlestar valkyrie" at A2Files and you'll find mikemckeon007's version of it.

TSK is correct, Terra. Search for mikemckeon007 over there and you'll find her. Alternately, I could email you my version. I have all of Mike's BSG ships ingame and fully functional. If you cannot find them over there, send me a PM and I'll email them to you.

Some A2 Vids

This will show you the Valhalla class Battlestar in action. It will also show you some other BSG ships Mike did. I must confess here. I cannot seem to leave well enough alone anymore. I tweaked the textures and adjusted the ODFs from what Mike sent in. Physics and weapons I made from scratch, though.

I'll also be releasing a Valkyrie to match my Pegasus and Solaria releases in the near future. So there will be an alternative to the one over on A2Files.

Well, thank you! I surely do try. However I find FallenGrace's and Jetfreak's pics to be far better than my own modest efforts.

From the War Journal of Admiral Mikaela Porthos, Commanding His Imperial Majesty's Warship Bloodhawk:

I know not how the foul heretics and worshipers of the Ruinious Powers managed it, but they have obviously used warpcraft to throw my ship and the ship of Captain Actium, the Cardinal Boras, through the Immaterium to a place far away from the Segmentum. I can only conclude this is the prelude to an attack on the Spinward Marches, since our ships were positioned to prevent just such an occurrence. Now, in a place where the stars and the planets both resemble and differ from those we call home, we have begun the search to find a means to return. The Navigatrix Primary, along with the astropaths, have been tireless in their efforts to contact anyone or anything of the Imperial Navy or any of the worlds and people under the Emperor's beneficence. The only bright spot in this entire affair so far is Commissar Bejie has locked himself in his stateroom, babbling in blind fear. He has stated he refuses to come out until we are once again in orbit around Holy Terra. As this will plainly take far longer than he desires, I have come to find the absence of his ceaseless interference in the most trivial command matters quite refreshing. It has taken the edge right off a otherwise bleak situation and more than once has tempted me to simply remain here. Were not I steadfast in my duty to the Emperor, Holy Terra, and the Navy, I would follow this wish. The silence has done wonders for my morale and that of the Command Deck crew as well."
"Indeed, Actium. I have taken to using the ladders at the for'ard end of the deck.
To avoid the clouds of incense rolling down the passageway from Bejie's...
"

bfg01.jpg
"Emperor on Earth! What manner of foul xenos are these?!"

bfg02.jpg
"By His glorious Name, ATTAAAACK!!"

bfg03.jpg
"Actium! Roll to port...NOW!"
bfg04.jpg
"Excellent! These xenos burn just as well as the ones at home! Now for the remaining one!"

bfg05.jpg
"Finish them!"

bfg06.jpg
"Admiral! Their void shields collapse! They are done!"

bfg08.jpg
bfg09.jpg

Addendum to the War Journal of Admiral Mikaela Porthos, Commanding His Imperial Majesty's Warship Bloodhawk:

The encounter earlier today has made my course of action plain to me. I, and those under my command, were not sent here by agents of Chaos. Rather, the Emperor has apparently misled the Ruinious Powers into doing His bidding, that we may speak His Name and act for His Purpose here so far from home. I yearn for the site of Holy Terra more now that I know I shall never see her again in this lifetime. Yet I find a great comfort in knowing even here His protection and guidance allows me still to act as the instrument of His Devine Will.

Thanks! Ragnar did a superb job on these ships!

From the War Journal of Admiral Mikaela Prothos, Commanding His Imperial Majesty's ship, Bloodhawk:Today, we had a completely unexpected piece of superb luck. Whilst the pinnaces were scouting for a planet in this system which contained water and food, they happened upon a ship.
bfg010.jpg
It is the Minder , or at least it was. Apparently, the entire crew succumbed to some foul alien disease which drove them mad to the point they opened all the air locks simultaneously. Some of the crew appeared to have fought with each other. There is significant damage to about half of the Gun Decks and the main engines are disabled somehow our Enginseers have yet to determine. Fortunately, Minder's stores are untouched and most of the damage can be repaired from her own stocks without having to utilize those of Bloodhawk. Recrewing her may be a problem, however. Very few of my junior officers have the requisite skills and experience needed to operate such a ship effectively. I am loathe to part with my own XO, since she presents me with such a smoothly functioning vessel. But to have such a ship to scout for us may be worth the personal cost to me. Captain Actium may be equally happy and dismayed at the prospect of losing his Gunnery Officer. I intend to present the idea to him this evening in the Officer's Mess.

Hmmm... And here I was hoping no one would notice my abuse of a badly overused plot device. lol. As to causing a mess, Yup. Shore did.

The Admiral sound rather enlightened for a line officer. I'm surprised he didn't see a conection to the ruinous powers.

Actually, she is enlightened. Or at least as enlightened as someone from the 41st Millenium is allowed to be.

I'm not completely happy with the maps I've released here at MSFC. I made some of them a little too large. The backgrounds on some are not right. Worst of all, the lighting on some is off just enough to make my A2 install seem a bit...cartoonish. By this I mean some of the ships and stations look two dimensional. As if these were not bad enough, EAS_Intrepid and FallenGraces have been posting all those lovely HW and HW2 pics which are truly professional grade work. My stuff looks a little shabby in comparison. Not being jealous or snarky here at all. Just stating what is to me is an obvious fact. So I decided to redo all my maps. Most of them just need some minor tweaks here and there. However, two or three things which are off kilter just a little bit makes the whole map not work as well as I want. I went file-trawling and found some killer map backgrounds done by Ash and Twitch. Both the ReadMes stated they were free to use in other mods as long as credit was given. I'll include these as well. As to the current versions of all my maps, throw them away as soon as this is available here at MSFC.

Here are a few pics of the new version of Cardassian Marches.
"Did you know, Gul Dukat, the Klingon language has no word for 'guest'?"
guests000.jpg
"The word they use actually translates as 'stranger' or 'barbarian'."
guests001.jpg
"To a Klingon, a stranger is always viewed as a competitor. Or an enemy."
guests002.jpg
"And as you can see, they behave accordingly."
guests003.jpg
"We, on the other hand, have a whole range of meanings for the word 'guest'."
guests004.jpg
"But I think for now at least, we shall use the tlhIngan version."
guests005.jpg

BTW, Terra. I took these before I added in your brilliant new Cardie weapon. That takes these and makes them almost the equal of what others do.

Hehe, I like those pics. They're not like "OMG!!!111!1 TEH BUTIFULNESS!!1!" but they do depict some of the best aspects of A2 modding and gaming. That would be: Thrilling battles, menacing ships and lots of torpedoes. To quote tSk:
Not that we play A2 to contribute anything but phaser energy and torpedoes!

So, keep on taking those pictures. I might join you later and post some of my recent battle pics into my Screenshot Collection Thread.

Why did I do these? Because I wanted to. Because I am now and shall always be a little boy at heart. Because SciFi Fan did a great job and he needed to see his beautiful new ship in a pic showing her off to maximum advantage. Because ST II: TWOK is near the top of the list for everyone's favorite science fiction movies. So, here. Enjoy!

Nice pictures. And yes, the Borg are around 1000 times or so easier to defeat in a game than in the series. :)

This has always been one of the things I find disappointing about A2. The Borg should be just as fearsome in the game as they are portrayed in the series and the films. the appearance of a Cube should give pause to all but the most experienced or foolhardy player. Maybe it is past time someone did a complete revamp of the Borg Collective, like Dan1025 did with the Cardassians. I for one have been giving it some serious thought lately. I've kind of started already, by removing the Fusion Cubes and allowing all Borg ships to use the Remodulate Shields Special Weapon. But I do not think there is much of an audience for such a full race mod.
