• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

What is the most memorable thing that happened to you today?

I did a trial shift last night for a job and found out that I got it! Yay! And why does Majestic keep smirking when I tell him it's at a lingerie shop.......?

I am on break at work. Before I went on break. I had a stranger walk up to me and ask me if I wanted a key to my car. He even had a keyless entry deal to it. He locked my car with it. Come to find out. He was the previous owner of the car from like 2 or 3 years ago. He had the keys in his truck for that long. Finally stopped at the same place as his old car. Found out the history of the car and that the funny color hood was from his daughter hitting a deer (no jokes there Syf)..... So, now I have another set of keys and keyless entry to my car before I sell it.

Hahaha thats a bit random. I'd probably jump to the conclusion that he's a creepy stalker or something

Erm today, tripped on a bag of stones that weighs a tonne (I was on top of it), then fell off and kicked a spade outta my brother's hands, which hurt a fair bit. I crawled along mud to the wall to sit up laughing. Strange thing was that the spade struck the top of my ankle inside my boot  Got a bruise now anyway lol.

Today, I finally got all my GCSE exam results. And I'm waiting on a confirmation letter to go to a grammar school for 6th form.

I'd say, this is a turning point now in my life. Won't be forgotten quickly. Gonna miss my old school

I had to fix some body shops SHODDY wireing repair on this poor guys seatbelt system. The things would lock themselves in place so ya couldnt even put them on. He got taken to the cleaner by whatever body shop he went to. Thank god for his warrenty on his car or he woulda gotten taken to the cleaners by my dealership too. those new seatbelts are like 400$ a piece.

Congrats on your Ent-E queen. But My fleet is still bigger :)

Well, I found out today that a route for another paper is available. It would pay an extra $600 a month. It is along the same route as the 3 I deliver currently. Some people think I am crazy for wanting more papers when I already deliver between 1000 to 1500 papers. It is only an additional 100-200 papers. Not THAT bad. LOL. I should be able to have them all delivered by 6am. My "day" normally starts around 12:30am. Another 2 hours and I go to sign the paperwork.

I was servicing a paper rack and found a HUGE wasp nest in it. Had atleast 20 wasp on it. Took about 15 minutes but used some spray to kill them all and make sure they would not return. Did not want anyone to get stung while trying to get a paper.

Last night while at work someone backed into the side of my car. So, I get to stay up all day to take care of that. Guess its a good thing that I have been unable to eat or sleep in about 2 days. Atleast now I have something to do. LOL

Update: I got an estimate. Looks like it will cost $1150 to fix. Good thing the other person has insurance.

The cost is not the kind of car. It is where the damage is. The front part of the door. So, the door has to be replaced. The cost of a new door and paint job. That is the main expense. The car itself is 10 years old. The damage is 65% the value of the car. LOL

lol, yeah, that's about what my truck would be valued, that repair would be 57.5% of what I paid for it. :)

Getting to work, and realizing that stock needs replenishing, a book needs copying......and my feet are still so sore from yesterday that walking and standing is painful to the point of telling my boss I'm going home.....

Oh, well......

That's not a very good memorable moment.
What version of Windows? XP? Vista?

I'd make sure I was logged in as Admin and go in and delete the programs in that mode, then reinstall the programs. If it's not working, then I'd say there is something interfering. Try booting up windows without any extras (run command = msconfig), disable all third party apps and also run a full scan for viruses and malware (AKA: spyware, adware). I myself use spybot and AVG antivirus + AVG anti-spyware. That's the starting point anyways.

I am at the moment making backups. I have run a scan for viruses and spams, and have not found any.

I will try the rest of your suggestions very soon. Thanks for the advice. :)

I use AVG too for antispam and antivirus. :D

I use all the same technics as Syf told you... But he is right. That is not a good thing. Hope you can get it taken care of.

XP is better than Vista. Today I started the claim on my car. Waiting to hear back from the insurance. Got the police report and it shows without a doubt it was the other person's fault. Can't wait to get it fixed b/c I open that door around 200 times a night at work and need it to work better for work.

Hmm, there was something I got unsure of what to do with as it seems that then I tried to boot Windows I got the message that the file was damaged. Now it`s too late at night to call my brother, so I must wait `till tomorrow to call him and hear what to do. I have though backup of the entire main hard drive, and that backup has been moved over to the reserve hard drive.

I haven't had any real problems with Vista yet but if it wouldn't cost so much I'd get it changed to XP.

I'm sitting here pondering my life as it stands and realizing that I'm lacking somewhere, something deep inside me feels empty. It's not a very pleasent feeling.

I have called my brother about this problem and also mentioned that my keyboard all of the sudden doesn't recognise the Norwegian standards that it did before, i. e. the Norwegian letters are gone. He told me that the crash had gotten the computer to go to default, and agreed that a new reinstall was needed. But since I have never done such a thing before, he told me to wait 'till he comes to my place to fix it. So I hope that no one needs to speak to me at MSN in a week, since that's how long I must wait to him to come here as he didn't have time earlier...

I have to agree with your brother. It's time to format and reinstall.

Just hang in there. I know life can be tough without MSN IM chat.:lol2:

I agree. Computers are a pain but what would we do without them.

Most memorable thing with my job is collecting the money. I got a plastic container I put the coins in from the racks. A couple hundred dollars in quarters can get heavy. I collect enough quarters that if I waited till the end of the months to cash them in. I would have enough money to pay both my rent and electric completely and have some left over. As far as the house I don't have any other utilities. :lol2: LOL
