• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Why did the Nietzscheans have their own fleet?

If they were part of the Commonwealth, why'd they have their own warships?

Oh, btw, I have only watched the first couple of seasons, so if this was answered later in the series that's why I don't know.

As I recall, it was stated somewhere in the series that the Nietzschean Prides involved in the coup had built their ships and consolidated their forces in secret.

I believe Kosh is correct here. Also their vessels I believe are modified cruise liners, freighters etc and where not originally built as warships. I believe I heard that somewhere I just can't remember where.

If i recall correctly (and im not sure I do), Tyr reveals it "Angel Dark, Demon Bright" when summarising the battle of Witchhead

I think its also part of the trap set in the pilot episode - Rommie identifies the Nietzchean ships as cruise liners an freighters evacuating refugees, before they open fire on her. I know that Rhade explains in the pilot why the Nietzcheans betrayed the commonwealth as well - because the commonwealth made peace with the Magog after the slaughter of a nietzchean colony.

I was pretty sure she said she knew they were Nietzschean warships, but she thought they were helping out with the evacuation. IDK, I could be wrong

The main Nietzschean warships, the "Leviathan Roused" were converted from other purposes mainly passenger liners. I've always assumed there were designed and built by private firms allied with the Niets in order to be easily converted from civilian ships into warships.

The main fighter, the Garuda, was a police cutter, a small warship used by many home guard units (as opposed to High Guard) for local security and defence.

The rarely seen "Four Freedoms" were freighters that were converted to light warships.

if you listen to the Rodennbury hypothesis then....

what we know as Andromeda was supposed to be a new series for trek and therefore...

the niets were in fact klingons (incorporated into the commonwealth-federation)
and the original idea was that they had their ships only because they took them over when the call went out...
