American ABC is reportedly developing a new reimagined version of V.

Scott Peters, the co-creator of The 4400, has written a script that will be produced by Warner Bros TV.

The new version will have original creations and focuses on on a Homeland Security agent called Erica Evans and her troubled son who soons the truth about the alien visitors.

Thanks TS, that doesn't look half bad. It might actually be one of those re-makes that are worthy of the name as many these days just don't capture the atmosphere of the original.

The re-make of BSG for example, I am just glad that re-make brought something new and completely different as it failed to capture the awe of the original BSG.

We will have to see how this one goes. :)

Former Angel showrunner Jeff Bell has become the showrunner for the new V:
ABC's 'V' Taps Jeff Bell for Show Runner

ABC has given V a 13 episode order with a launch date sometime after January 2010. The show will have a definite beginning, middle and an end says executives.

I have been hearing and reading for the last few years that various networks were going to be bringing V back to life....and with Kenneth Johnson releasing "V The Second Generation" earlier this year I belive it was I was starting to get my hopes up as originally it was gonna be NBC the same network that originally aired V back in the 80's bringing it back. Unfortunately that fell through....

I of course am gonna watch it...I have the entire collection of V from the movies/miniseries and the tv show..but from what I have seen trailer wise I have a feeling I am going to be disapointed.

I think one of the toughest things for the entertainment industry to do is make a "re-imagined" show work...and then on top of that not alienate the fans of the orginal. BSG re-imagined is perfect example of this balancing act which thankfully was quite good and was able to run its course....though it did alienate itself from some fans of the orginal.

Lately in the last decade I have seen a lack of creativity and a trend to "re-imagine" things..It seems to be becoming allmost as prevelent as the reality shows and we all know how the numbers of those shows just multiplied at a rate exceeding even tribbles.

I guess I will just cross my fingers and hope my initial perceptions of the "re-imagined" V are wrong....The V saga though leaves a lot to live up to for this new series....

I saw the first 15 minutes of this on Friday, that was before Megavideo kindly told me that I had watched by 74 minute allowance..

I shall be keeping up with this show though, even though I've never watched the original.

I will be keeping up with this show as well....it wasent as bad as I feared. Though I felt that they moved very quickly plotwise in the first episode.
Anyways it was definitly worth the watch.

Just reset (or unplug and plug back in) your modem. Refresh your browser and you're good to go again;)
I actually got incredibly bored and confused with V after the first 15 minutes and gave up. I wont go on about how good the original was, but I guess my expectations were too high. Maybe i'll give it another go some time

I have to say that though I am not liking this incarnation as much as the original it still has some merit. Unfortunately V does not return to tv til march of next year. Though the cliffhanger does leave me wanting more.

The final cut scene zooms out from earth and out past the solar system and our local area of space to somewhere distant and shows a new fleet of Visitor ships preparing for what seems travel. I get the implication that this new fleet is on course for earth.

Other than the show moving through the plot quickly in the first episode I think its quite a decent work of a reimagined show. But I still say it does not have the charm as of the original mini-series. Hopefully the resume of the show in march (if that happens) will bring in more charm and more depth and a less predictable storyline.

I cant help but think this everytime she smiles...She gonna eat you!!:lol2: Of course this is a carryover from the original.

There are rumours of the possibility that V may be getting cancelled, there is an online petition to try and keep the show up. If any of you are enjoying the series I recommend heading over and signing it as I just have:

Thanks for posting that link Majestic.

I have signed the petition also.

Season 2 was very good IMO and the cliffhanger in the season 2 finale is just gonna drive me nuts unless they resolve it.

There's only two seasons? Thought this show had been on for longer than that...

Suffice to say, from what I've reason, season two is it for you watchers. I expect SGU to follow suit; end on a high note, leaving viewers in despair. Got to love these television networks. They really don't have a clue what people want to watch, and what they don't. It's all about money to them. It's a shame. :(
