I siad i don't mean to tick anyone off, Especialy not thunderfoot. And i do have a respect for the autobots, but i don't like what the movies have done to them. I'm kindda picky when it comes to sides in movies, like the jedi, they were worth rooting for, the cannon federation, not so much. but as i tried to say, thats my personal opinion. i Deffenately don't mean to step on any toes.

What makes you think you were stepping on any toes? You expressed your opinion in an open, adult manner. Nothing at all wrong with that. My initial response was nothing more than an attempt to inject a little humor into the thread.

Leonard Nimoy is supposed to be voicing one of the bots isn't he?

Well, it seems that Skids and Mudflap have been officially axed from TF3.
I've heard so many conflicting results regarding these two that I'm not going to believe anything until I actually see the film. I'd have to say they weren't my favourite characters; seemed a little 'dumb' for sentient life-forms to name one problem.

Jazz was by far my favorite and he died. I thought that the autobot side was severely lacking good characters in the second movie, other than jetfire, who i thought was again amazing and sadly killed.
Indeed Jazz was a good character, shame he was killed off. I'm still wanting to know about them Motorbikes from Revenge of the Fallen, swear two of them were shot, though killed? Have heard conflicting stories on them too.

I'm just glad magnus and the insecticons are on board for this third installment.
Come again?

His predecessor? Will be interesting to see if they're 'family' or whether they're just both Primes. Who gives the orders I wonder.

I've also heard that this movie, it is Shockwave (and not Megatron) that is to be the main villain of the film. What's the bet there is history between Shockwave and Sentinel Prime?

I do understand your point. I do believe it was said that they were the youngest of the group. I bet Bumblebee felt more like a baby sitter than a soldier. It was funny when he put them in his place. Gotta give the two credit for one thing though, they sure stepped up against Devastator.

I've heard rumours that it's someone else than Shockwave that is the main villain, though I'm not too sure on those as they are so far just rumours. Time will tell. :)

I had seen a report stating that Shockwave would be in it but, that could have been Bay blowing a smokescreen. I know they said this would be the last one but, I would love (if it is well received) to see more. I could see Avery Brooks voicing a bot (perhaps Shockwave himself if not in this movie).

I hope they do more movies, there is so much they can do with the franchise, as long as they keep the stories good and the other aspects of the movies are up with what they have done in the past then I can't see wht they can't easily do more movies.

If I remember my lore correctly, then yeah. The original series (Generation I) showed them numbering in the hundreds if not thousands, though they were very weak and followed their own agenda mostly. The only thing that linked them to Megatron was the badge.

Have to agree with Majestic though, there is so much they can do with this series. I mean, you have a winning recipe at the core (giant robots + moving parts/ability to turn into vehicles = awesome); but people just don't seem able to do as much as they could with it. Yeah I admit that number two was pretty poor, and showed more than anything that the writing team were off in their own little world, but the first film was practically soaked in promise and could have easily sustained a film series of Trek length.

I suppose the same could be said of everything though. All these differing interpretations of what's good and bad, what will make more money, what will attract a wider audience, and what will be a big success are bound to skew the thing from our own personal ideal...

Looking forward to three though

A new trailer has come out, and this one is a 3D edit. It does have a few new scenes among those already seen :) :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJveLwLRwyk

I also want to mention that the date for then it comes out on cinemas has been changed. It comes out the 29th. of June instead of 1st. of July :D :

Transformers Live Action Movie Blog said:
Transformers: Dark of the Moon Getting Early Release

Deadline reports that Paramount has made the decision to release Transformers: Dark of the Moon two days early. Instead of coming out on July 1st, the movie will now come out on Wednesday, June 29th. This matches the release date of many international locations around the world. "Early response to footage, especially the 3D footage, has been great so we want to get the word out that this film is as good or better than the first and much better than the last," an insider just told [Deadline]. Except for China (July 8) and Japan (July 29) the rest of the world will have the film in theaters by July 1st. The news isn't really a surprise as the previous two Transformers films were released early as the studios often bump films up during the summer.

Oh, and the movie has been rated PG-13. :)

Som seroiusly cool new footage in that trailer. also paramount insider seems confident that they learned from there past mistakes, and hopes that this will top even the first one, however nothing is always as it seems, and there is more to this than meets the eye. (LOL i could not help my self!!)

Ok, some more info i found here on the moies opening sequince. Ya'll know how the movies always begin, with some piece of history being discovered, well, this excerpt is from firstshowing.net from an interview with Bay, the movies Director:

NOte: i wraped in a spoiler tag so that those who do not want the beggining splattered all over this thread, for those who like the suspence

There's footage of the opening credits of the film set over a space backdrop, then the camera begins to pan to reveal the home planet of the Transformers: Cybertron -- where an intense battle is occurring between the autobots and deceptions, as Optimus Prime -- voiced by the actor who has played him from the very beginning, Peter Cullen -- begins to narrate the story. The 3D here is stunning, multi-dimensional and incredibly effective. There's also a trench battle which ensues, much like that of the end of the original Star Wars movie when Luke is attempting to blow up the Death Star, as well as like in Return of the Jedi when the rebels are flying in and around the surface and construction areas of the second Death Star.

Two more TV spots/trailers has come up :) :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spq_dcYx-Mc

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me3fi0w7G60

There is something I have wondered some time about now, and that is; What is that beam for seen in the trailers? I know it's early to ask about that, but I'm curious :p . It looks like some kind of signal, and as the city has already been attacked (smokes coming from buildings, etc.), I do wonder who it is for and why. It does look sinister. The movie will show. Oh, and they have updated the release date in the trailers now. :)

It could be the movie version of the Spacebridge. I'm sure I saw something similar to a transport effect in one of the other trailers, and in the original series there was a noticeable beam as the gateway was opened.

Really looking forward to this film. Hope it's as good as Thor was...

This looks pretty cool, especially the huge tentacle-robot-thingy.

Anyone know who the red Decepticon with the cool blades was?

Ditto.

As a side note, I wonder if the Autobots are going to manage to keep what goes on in this movie secret too. I still think it's amazing that they were able to come up with a cover story for the first movie.

I don't think so, the destrution wrought would be impossible to cover up, Cherynobel, Chicago, D.C., Moon, Desert somwhere..... they are everywhere now, and as the trailer said, the last ones were just battles, whereas this is a global war, in essence an invasion, and think a resisstance would be nessicary. The secracy behind the coverups and Nieve people that did that cost the world its readyness and its preparedness. i quote:

AND YOU DIDN"T THINK THE UNITED STATES MILITARY MIGHT NEED TO KNOW YOU HAD A HOSTLE ALIEN ROBOT FROZE IN THE BASEMENT.

everything humans know about our planet we were told haad be shared, you lied, you made a grave mstake

Edit: and i'm going to post this so we can all drool over it:p

After what I have read, it's Mirage. And I think he's an Autobot. :)

I just found out that the red Ferrari earlier stated to be Mirage, is now renamed Dino. And Wheeljack has been renamed to Que. Not sure of why they changed the names.

Anyway, here's a new tv spot from last night:
