I am back with my "Movie" lookout.

As many have already seen the CG movie of the Transformers and have said they would like to know if there is a sequel coming out, well, I will be tracking this and bringing you all thin information on the second Transformers CG movie.

Here is what I have been able to learn so far...

Roberto Orci is the screenwriter
Some of the cast from the first movie are being contracted already, including the "Boy wonder".

It appears there may be "More" transformers in this next film (but which ones, I can not say for sure yet).

Here is a quote from Comingsoon
20 Robots in Transformers 2?
Source: Sp@wn June 2, 2008

Screenwriter Roberto Orci has made a interesting post on Don Murphy's message board about Transformers 2 that reads:

I'd love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.

Do you think we'll really see 20 robots in the sequel? Let us know below.

Meanwhile, The Daily Pennsylvanian is reporting that filming will take place on the Penn campus, including a previously-mentioned location. Here's a clip:

University spokeswoman Lori Doyle explained that filming would tentatively begin around June 12 with scenes using the exterior of the Quad.

According to Doyle, the extensive project is expected to involve about 200 people, 25 tractor-trailer trucks and cranes.

"They have their own landscaping people, they bring in their own catering, it's a huge operation," she said.

In addition, scenes will be shot at Psi Upsilon Tau fraternity house, better known as "The Castle," and possibly on Locust Walk and Spruce Street, Doyle said.

Check out the article for more info. Transformers 2 hits theaters on June 26, 2009.

So, it looks like filming will start next week, and the movie is planned to be in the theaters in just about one years from now.

Oh, and just for fun, here's some "hoax" trailers for you. (I say hoax, as in they were fan made around the time of the release of the first movie)

With the writers strike, anything is possible. We'll be feeling the ripples of that for the next few years.

I started a thread on this over in the FF Gaming Forums, along with the Gateworld Forums. Could have sworn I created one here too... Obviously not though.

Anyway, I've read a fair bit about this movie, and can only hope I've read wrong. If what I have read to be true, then they are going to seriously go overboard with this one, and I feel it will spoil the movie.

The Constructicons for example, are suppose to be making an appearance. Personally, I would not wish to include them. They don't work I don't think, would present a very powerful Transformer, with too much to go with, yet with only a small part played in the movie.

Others such as Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, Soundwave and others are suppose to be in this movie, and if I've read right, it'll be left on a cliffhanger, more than ready for a third release. I figure, for this, they'll do what they did with Pirates of the Caribbean and The Matrix, create the first (which is what they've already done), and of which was unique and what not, and then they'll go and create another one film (split over two movies) which will drag on, and spoil the franchise.

Seems also, that they are litterally going to be PILING Transformers into this one by the hundreds.

Edit: Current release date is June, 2009.

I myself would prefer to mirror the original G1 Transformers series. Basically remake each of the episodes into a feature film.... But that's just me.

They have already changed the TFs so much that they are a different incarnation. So, whatever they do will be fine with me. It will not change the fact that there is almost a dozen different versions of the infamous Transformers.

And on a Side note: I personally dislike the newest transformers cartoon... It's.. It's... it's insulting to all other versions of the Transformers in my view.

And you may have made a thread like this. If so, I apologize. I didn't find it.

Hey Syf, remember what I told you about the TF MMO I was working on? The part with the "three" Factions? Trust me, it's gotten to the point where I'm about to quit in high protest over some of the latest script revisions they've ordered up.

Never thought I'd be writing Megatron saying to the Player Character, 'Perhaps it is time to put old enmities behind us..'

But from what we've been told, PrimalWare (the Dev. Company) is taking directions from Hasbro on the Storyline, who then tell ME how I should write the parts. Hm, I have a Decepticon tattoo on my right arm. I think *I* would know how the Decepticons are supposed to act. Why else would I surrender my soul to the gestalt that is the Decepticon Empire (nee Battle Fleet).

Now, on to the topic of the movie. There is one Transformer who will make or break the next TF movie for me:

((Bad Image Link!))

The King himself.

On that note...

"Me Tholian_Storm not geek. Me Tholian_Storm King!"

Well there really is only one way to find out though.... Watch them.
So ya i'll go and see it when it comes out. I went with my family to see the first one and they all thought it was "Bloody amazing" hee.

there is one question though:
Wasn't bumblebee an enemy in one of the transformers or maybe more?

In the series and such, Bumblebee has alway remained loyal to the Autobots. There was one episode in the original series (if memory serves me right), that Megatron tried to convert lil' bumblebee, but in the end failed.

It seems there is a following of Transformer fans almost as much as any other sci-fi genre.

Well, I'm still scanning the news for any further hints to the next TF movie... Anyone find anything before I do, be sure to post it.

I have read that Isabel Lucas is in Revenge of the Fallen.

Isabel Lucas is well known to Home and Away viewers for playing Tasha Andrews.

If IMDB can be believed than she will be:

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) (post-production) .... Alice

Saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen today.

What a big surprise with the character Isabel Lucas played.

Ben McEachen from the Sydney Sunday Telegraph gave it two and a half stars saying, "Undeniably entertaining for the simple fact director Michael Bay has given us another helping of giant robots pounding each other, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen pummels everything in sight, including storyline, charm, humour and our desired to get involved."

To Australian viewers:
Margaret Pomerantz and David Stratton in At The Movies gave it 2 and 2 and a half stars respectively. David said after the success of the first movie Michael Bay obviously did not think that a plot was needed for the second movie. Margaret described it as being full of sound and fury not signifying not much at all.

I agree with the assessments from the aforementioned reviewers. However there have been funny moments including Sam's mum being very funny at the beginning but there are times in the movie when I fidgeted a lot in my seat. The non-stop action sequences towards the end rather than gripping me to my seat felt really tired to look at making me wish the movie would just hurry up and finish.

Ben McEachen put it correctly in his last sentence, "Your senses will be shredded by the end but it wasn't nearly as much fun along the way."

I saw the movie yesterday (Sunday, June 28th USA) and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I did see the plot and was able to follow it, it just wasn't on the forefront. It was funny at parts and a little tear jerking at two spots in particular. My only complaint is that you don't really get to learn about a lot of the new robots. All in all I give it a

I have to say that I find the negative reviews rather disappointing - there is a plot there and a good one at that. It's not Shakespeare, but then is that what we really want?

I loved it, and thought it was so much better than the first one. I loved the humour that didn't seem forced (like the first one did in places) and the subtle references to the original series and the 1982 film. (Such as Soundwave's voice)

Everyone I went with (about twenty-eight of us) completely agreed it was better that the first one. The problem I think is that a lot of reviewers feel the need to be all 'cultural' and 'learned' rather than just admit that giant fighting robots make a good film.

[upper class English]
I say, do you know of that new Transformers film. The first one was jolly good but I don't think we can use the novelty angle again. We can't just say we loved the action in it, so lets just attack it for not being some undiscovered literary masterpiece shall we?[upper class English]

With any luck though, people will go and make their own decisions. Personally, I trust on the opinions of my friends rather than some reviewer person who is payed to do it.

Ewww...rant... :yuck:

Anyway good film! And there were genuine tear's at one point from some members of the audience (I think people know what I mean)

I just got my copy of the TF:2 RotF. Got the 2 disc DVD set which contains 3 hours of extras. Sadly, I have to wait for the kids to get home to watch it. But it will be worth the wait.

In other news, TF3 has been announced for a Theatrical release slated for July 1 in 2011 for North America. I can't say what the theater release day is elsewhere, but I am sure it'll be at the same time, or within a few days of it's North America Theater release date. The script is already being written, and the actors are signed (pre-production has started)... With one note, Megan Fox may not reprise her role (but is currently slated to be in it). Seems her and Micheal Bay have a bit of an issue working together. As with the last 2, it will be directed by Michael Bay, and the executive producer will be Steven Spielberg. As for what the next movie's plot will be, that has not been said yet.

Bay was going to take a year off from directing, but it seems Paramount has other plans. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will not be returning to co-write the script for the 3rd and final installment of the TF series of movies.
