Could someone pass the glue, please? So I can repair whatever it is I broke? I don't play the Rep Game. IMV, it is a system which can and probably has been abused many times by unscrupulous people. I'm just me. And this just seems to be another way to split people into either Da Kewel Kids or Da Nerds. Of course, everyone wants to be one of Da Kewel Kids. Isn't there enough division on the planet already? Always thought 'being cool' is about walking your own path, not following the one chosen by other people. While I appreciate the respect people 'round here have for me, I am also a little embarrassed by it and I've not done anything to deserve the fuss some of you make about me.

I kinda understand Rep Points. I've no idea at all what Rep Power is. Aren't they both the same?

The rep system is not about being cool, it's not to separate or divide people, it isn't abused as no-one can give negative rep, only admins have that ability as it's a default value and it's not used. It's a tool nothing more, just like posting thanks or a positive comment on the forums. There is no difference.

I also won't go into the difference between rep points and rep power again, I've gone over that may too many times now and the latest was only about a month ago. Go check out the polls I have done about downloads and you'll see there is a difference, hence why I took the time and effort to edit the site so it will show in the postbit_legacy template.

Perhaps I did not write precisely enough. The Rep system has not been abused here at MSFC. Which is not to say it has not been abused elsewhere or that the possibility does not exist for abuse here in the future. People making a big deal out of me because others think well of me is awkward. There are others here at MSFC who have contributed far more who get recognized and commended far less than even I deserve. So all of you lining up to pass a congratz onto TF, really should take a look around. You missed a few people, didn't you?

As to not explaining Rep Power again, no worries. I'll not be fooling around with it anyways. I am satisfied enough with who I am and what I have accomplished in my life so at fifty years old the opinions others have of me, especially the negative ones, bounce off. Mostly. Speaking my mind on a subject isn't something I've ever had trouble with, either. Clearly hearing the clock tick every waking minute now only reinforces these concepts.

That's not exactly true... It has been abused.. by various people who shall remain nameless to increase other people's rep for various reasons, including on new people in the past to give them the rep they need to instantly access downloads... etc etc
