• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

It is a great day in space flight history! Today (April 12th) is the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight, Vostok 1! Also today is the 40th anniversary of the maiden flight of the first space shuttle, Columbia.

Well, I've had an interesting last few days. Had a massive blowback on my grill on Saturday that sent me to the ER and left me with some lovely second-degree burns and lost me a fair bit of hair. I'm feeling very lucky though, it could have been a lot worse. Today, I'm feeling recovered enough now to actually use my hands and type again.

Hey Zelph I'm sorry this happened to you but glad your feeling better. I've been through a similar situation, car back fire while I was priming carb. I got second degree burns and a few small third degree ones on hands, chest, and some minor ones on neck and an ear. Docs said burns to 40% of me but if you don't count the first degree ones it was more like 15%. Plus half of a two week bread gone, at least my mustache survived! My pain wasn't to bad safe when they removed the blisters from my hands (think surgical gloves blown up to the max), and one morning when I was cleaning off the escarre from one quarter size spot it about put me on my knees in the shower. So don't be to proud to use a chair then your cleaning and bandaging! Took about a month to have all the open won heal up. Be patient and you should heal up just fine. The best advice I can give you is to listen to your doctors and follow all their advice. And don't overlook the physical therapy!!! The stretching of my fingers was totally necessary and helped me fully recover!!! Hope this helps in some small way. If you need to talk or have any questions let me know. Feel better!

So apparently Nvidia broke the PhysX for Arkham Knight right before I decided I'd play it again now that I can max it out...

Hello:
So, "Star Wars: Empire at War" recently received a new patch, but our beloved "Star Trek: Armada II" lays forgotten.

So, the wife and I both just tested positive for Covid. Timing couldn't be worse with my daughter's graduation coming up. Hopefully we'll both test clear in a couple of weeks with minimal impact on our lives. Of course, I will not be able to go to work until I test negative.

Oh, that stinks! I wish you and your wife will indeed have a swift recovery!

Hoping for a speedy recovery SciFiFan. I was sent home Monday this week out of concern for possible exposure at work. Get tested tomorrow so we'll see.

I hope for the best. I seem to have pretty mild symptoms so I am happy about that (as happy one could be in this situation). Worst I've had to deal with is bouts of feverish shivers without a fever and my energy draining really easily.

Started playing Prey. Now I understand why D&D players are paranoid about mimics.

Hey Zelph haven't heard how your doing so hopefully your on the mend. Looks like its been a little over three weeks so I'm guessing your home and with luck getting to lose some bandages. I know that was a welcome step for me.
Just a heads up that while getting bandages off is a good thing it also leaves your new baby soft and tinder skin exposed. The first month after I got all of my bandages off I managed to knock the skin off just about ever knuckle that was burned. You would think that the outside would be the danger zone but for me in was inside the nice safe house. Outside I put my armor on, a heavy leather pair of gloves, and was able to do ever thing I had before with little forethought. But inside the house was a knuckle removing zone. Corners of walls, furniture, and worst of all DOOR JAMS, all those nice sharp ninety degree corners on the trim, proved to be fine knuckle skinners. So you way want to try a pair of soft nylon gloves in the house for a while.
One other thing, once the bandages are off the doc told me to use a good skin lotion to help keep the skin soft and easier to stretch during your physical therapy. Not sure what they recommended but " Curel " lotion worked well for me.
Hope you heal up soon and maybe some of this helps.

Sorry to hear that your sick SciFiFan. Hope you and your wife feel better soon.

Nothing to be ashamed of if your going to do something , have the right tools for the job so you can do it right

Kjc look at this way you at lest did not spend $649,000 for your mid life crisis. Unlike I did for a 1942 Lockheed P-38H Lightning and another $ 100 K on get it flight ready. You keep it in a modest range ;)

If I ever make it to your neck of the woods, I would love to take a ride in your midlife crisis, my friend.

Would love to take you up but the thing is the P-38 is single seated. I would have to barrow my friends plane "P-51 Mustang" to take you up .
