STO Ships

While I love my Vesta, I was getting a bit bored. I've also been despirately wanting a TOS styled ship for my AoY Andorian Sci. I've had a Konnie packed up for a while but I've decided that I just don't like the setup, so I'm going to sell it.
Instead I've bought an NX Refit. I lose my Commander SCi skill but gain a Commander Tac and an Engineering LtCdr skill and a weapon slot.
So far I'm pleased, but I haven't done anything much with it yet beond fitting it with almost the same loadout as my Vesta and going into Japori. I have noticed that with 5 foward weapons slots the front of the ship gets rather obscured when firing weapons. The default experimental weapon also conceals the ship (the Bajoran weapon has a very minor visual impact so I've switched to that). I'm running Tetryon but I may try a TOS phaser build if I can get the parts.
I also decided that this was the perfect ship to use my TOS interior on. It looks great, except in most rooms the crew are sat on the floor and there's nothing in the shuttlebay.

My AoY character is an Andorian engineer. I have a Vulcan Delta Recruit Sci that I am actually wanting to get the Crossfield class for.

Yes, I you read that right, I said Crossfield.

In STO the Crossfield has some great stats. I love the idea of a science cruiser (and I'm hoping that they introduce more of them) and its seating and console layout is good. I actually considered getting one - then I remembered that it's butt ugly.

I seen an image of the Crossfield with the TOS material on it and it looked pretty good. I am uncertain if you need the T6 Connie to unlock the material or not though.

I don't believe so. I have the Type 0 material on my NX Refit and I don't have the T6 Connie (which is what I was saving for - before I realised I was never going to reach 1.4billion EC!)

It does seem sometimes like I am swapping one job for another to play STO, which is why I often take a break and/or mix things up (like getting an NX tac ship for a Sci captain).

And its giving me ideas for a new build...

Nope. I have never, and will never pay any real money for pixels within a game. All my ships are paid for in time playing the game and earning dilithium.

My problem with STO is that everything comes down to shooting something. It would be nice if the missions varied more based on abilities and equipment fitted, rather than just how fast you can blast it. There are also times when I'd rather tone down my ships abilities as I don't get much enjoyment out of vaporizing a Borg Cube in 30 seconds.

I wonder how much Zen I have now. I don't think I've logged into the game for like 12 months lol.
I just haven't felt the desire to. I know at one point I will just to play the new missions but that's the only thing that would get me into the game for a couple of weeks.

As said above the missions are too bam bam boom plus with the missions the same for all 3 factions and all 3 classes I only see a point of running through them once.

Ok, now I have a little conundrum. I have been saving up EC to purchase a Crossfield class for my Vulcan Delta Recruit science captain. He is currently nestled in nicely to a Well class temporal science ship [T5-U]. Now they are releasing T6 version of the Wells.

What to do....

Anyone remember when they said that they wouldn't rerelease t5 ships at t6? Personally I don't like the higher seats having the same speciality, I'd rather the variety of the Vesta variants. I can't remember the specifics but I thought the crossfield specs looked really good - I won't get one though as I can't stand the design. I'm hoping that they'll expand the idea of science cruisers to other designs.

I want the Crossfield only because I am intrigued by the idea of a science cruiser. I am also thinking of getting a Walker class for my TOS character.
