• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Over the years there have been several Star Trek Manuals published. Starting with the Franz Joseph Star Fleet Technical Manual. I used to own that particular manual. So my question is, Does anyone own any of these manuals? I would love to get reference materials for future projects.

I have all of them-- TOS, TNG, DS9, even the VOY version.

And I could tell you where to find even more stuff if I were allowed to link to an outside site.

There's some good stuff over at the Cygnus website and Brad Torgersen's site is a good source of FASA material. I'd post the links if allowed. :)

I have the TNG technical manual. So if you need anything scanned I can do that for you.

Unfortunately it is German. The translation is quite wierd... they translated even Trek stuff, like PADD. In German that would be "PZAG" - "Persönliches Zugriffs- und Anzeigegerät".

Normally we ask that you clear links (except for sites like google, the various wikipedias etc) with site staff, however those links are fine.

Yes, I did not pay attention. Perhaps because I supposed these links as clear enough as they're very popular.

Thank you all for the responses and reference links. I guess what I am really looking for is that in the Franz Joseph Starfleet Technical Manual, He listed the names and registries of all his ships. I did not know if any subsequent manuals did the same. I am also wanting "official" (term used loosely) star charts. Everything I googled is inconsistent at best and I am uncertain which is from any manual and what is fan made.

This book; Star Trek Star Charts: The Complete Atlas of Star Trek is the closest thing to cannon charts out

Franz Joseph's lengthy lists of ship names have never been duplicated in any other tech manual that I know of; even then, the listed ships and their respective names are not technically canon, although a few drawings and sketches from that manual found their way onscreen in the first two films.

I know we see the Hermes and the Ptolemy schematics in STII:TWOK just behind Admiral Kirk's shoulder at the background bridge. That make these ships canon.
Sometimes we can get information about names and registries on the web. Some are PDF format files. Once I saw a very long list : it was called Galactopedia if I remember correctly.

Tain, you didn't need to correct him, he said the same thing: the designs are canon, but the class names aren't. :p

To be fair, aside from the canon ones, is there any point in registries lists? It's just a name with a number; you may's well make them up yourself. :)

That is true but, I am doing a personal mod and I'd like all of Joseph's names....kind of a tribute to his work in the Star Trek universe.

You seem sarcastic Atlantis. I'm not a green blooded man, Bones! :lol2:
So I have parts from different lists which includes some Franz Joseph's registries. But if I send to you these .txt I must admit there are some additional ships from other references sometimes sharing one registry for two or three different names. Some ships have registries not following the former numbers. These are to reject.
