Apparently after this trilogy all new book will be tie in with the new shows. Such terrible news considering the quality of the expanded book series compared to the lack of quality in the new shows. Bad business decision too imo.

That really sucks as at least to me they are some of the best stories in Star Trek

Didn't have the heart to read the books ending things, so I read a synopsis online.

Quality was mixed, as with any large project, but I'm going to miss what was essentially the old Star Trek EU.

A fair bit I'd say. But I don't know that the Trek books have ever had as much cultural cache as the Star Wars ones did.

Well, that would make it less of a catastrophe than how it was for SW I guess
