Thumbs up all around mate, and yes, the Vas Hatam is the TOS Bird of Prey.

I'd also suggest looking at the plethora of Romulan dictionaries around the web if you need some ship names. :D

Hey guys!
I'm still around, just haven't done much work at this point.
I'd like to do some releasing though...the Klingon side has been pretty much done since Feb..just needs a brain!

I'm currently working off my laptop, I'm getting a new PC up and running by next week hopefully.

I always thought graduating and getting a job would be what took the shackles off for me, not made em tighter! lol

This mod looks incredible. I came into Trek as a TNG DS9 fan...never liked the original. But as I've grown up I've learned to really appreciate the original crews Chemistry. The storylines and the way the actors were together was incredible. Star Trek and its awesome history as proudly represented in your mod. Its good to see TOS get the time and effort it deserves.

Thanks for all of the compliments and well wishes folks..much appreciated :)

I'm still busy as heck with work (like everyone, eh?)....but in my spare time I've been working on an Asia class...
I've ALWAYS wanted to make that ship and then the TMP refit!

As far as releases go...the Klingon side has been ready to go since Feb 2011 but it has no AI so it's simply sitting put at this point...
As soon as it has a brain, it gets released :)

Also note that once I get my old version of 3ds MAX working (for converting to A2) I will start getting things in-game again.
Note that I couldn't stand see that Romulan Scout not shooting missiles at a Daedalus, so I've refit it with missiles and made a new Scout which needs to be textured (not pictured here as of yet because I don't have everything up and running).

In the meantime, here is the Asia!

Great start on the Asia. :D

Thanks Majestic :)

Model done...on to the "fun" part now :)

The model is a bit high on the poly count bordering 2000...
I think most machines will be able to handle it fine though...

This model was great for me, I learned a lot making it..
I noticed my secondary hulls always have unusual fragments and I figured out (at least it seems like I have) how to mitigate this...
It usually means edge loops = more polygons but worth while if you avoid mesh errors..
Kind of bothers me because these mesh errors weren't necessarily visible until you exported...heck they might still be there, I wont know until she's ingame! I think it's all good though.

Onto the pics!

Sweet Asia, I've built one in the past I think. I always liked the more Miranda looking saucer. The model looks great for a 2k model.

Thanks guys!

It's time for another update :)

Apologies for the delay...work has been taxing to say the least..
It's good to get enough break to sit down for a min and do some modding :)

Thanks Guys!

Some updates on this one... It's been a while and I've been busy as heck but I got to work on the Asia!
I had planned to finish her up today but unfortuantley I don't have the Daedalus aztec pattern with me on this laptop...
I wanted to keep the pattern consistent between certain ships!

Thanks guys!
I've put some panels and rust on.
She needs more dirt, some spot lights and then she's ready.

I've used the paneling from my Ajax class as planned to sort of create a clear lineage.

Sweet, you sure haven't lost your mastery man. :D Will the ship have LOD support by the way? I recall your Connie having that.

Hello:
Very nice work indeed, and sine you are using similar (or same) panneling, you are ensuring your ships to keep the same style. That is something I always like to see.

Can I ask it's poly-count?.

Keep it up!.

Thanks man! She will have it on the textures, not on the model I think...

Yes!! I've been thinking about that ship a lot, I really need to get her done :)
I'm going home next weekend so I'll get my Conny texture files onto my laptop so I can work with the same colours/aztec patterns, etc.

Good work man:cool:

Thanks man!

Thanks, I'm trying to do the panelling by era... sort of... you'll see Conny era ships similar, older ships similar, there may be a few that are different.
This one is around 1800 polygons, a bit high but I felt it was necessary for this ship.

I've attached a couple of newer pics... I've slowly worked on her piece by piece...
I did a texture bake for the first time...

Problem is the file with that model won't open anymore so I need to mess around with the original to try and get it all working properly...
I personally liked the results, although I felt that the texture alignment (lines from 2 different pieces lining up, etc.) wasn't as good as what I do manually, but there isn't a way around it and it's at an acceptable level.

Enjoy :)

Now that I've got a good laptop on the road (and hopefully some more time) maybe we'll start to see more from me :)

Love the addition of the running lights, really helps the model stand out. (Lets hope the hardcore purists won't get mad LOL)

Crisp detailing as well, thumbs up from me. :D
