I am unfortunately getting that modelling itch again, this time when looking at MCRN ships. Has anyone seen any good orthos for Expanse ships other than the Rocinante? I spent last weekend going through the internet and finding very little other than concept art.

um.........in the special_weapons folder... there should be various hangar odfs "khangarS1.odf". In 'khangarS1.odf', which is a replace weapon that launches shuttles... the line "replacement0class0 = "kshuttle" tells you the odf name for the ship. So in your KA2 ship odf folder.. there is no kshuttle.odf or fshuttle.odf?

Can you check to see which version of the KA2 mod you have? It sounds like I'm looking at a different version than you. I've looked at version 1.5 and the first version released as General War instead of Empire at War.

i don't think I ever updated the .ini file.. but i have 1.4Beta which is KA2 EAW

If I get time over the weekend I can do that.

There may also be something in the art book but it only covers the first few seasons.

Anyone know if there's a model of the Klingon weapons platform from Legacy available anywhere? I know there's a pack of Legacy ports but it didn't include the platform if I remember correctly.

Also, does anyone know if the turrets from Legacy are available either?

I'm looking for any decent models of the unique FASA federation ship designs. Specifically I'm looking for models that are well UV-mapped so they would take well to having new textured overlaid on top the old textures without having to remap the original model. I already have the Thufir and Chandley, but what I'm looking for next are the Keith, Babcock, Northampton, Genser, Larson, Lenthal, Baker, and Andor classes

That's been my source for a few of these, but that pack doesn't include a detailed enough Andor or Baker for what I'm trying to do. It also doesn't include the Keith, Babcock, Genser, or Lenthal. I'd also like to find a better version of the Remora if I can

yea i've not seen models for those anywhere. Id recommend bashing out the 4 ships not in the mod and restructuring the best models of the 3 ships you do have. its not likely that models exist for the more esoteric ships as FASA went belly up over 20 years ago

Does anyone know if any of the stock models from BOTF (aside from the Ferengi models) got converted to any other format? Specifically any of the Klingon or Romulan designs or the Chodak ship? I've tried using the Ultimate Editor on AFC and it's not working for some reason and if I remember correctly Milkshape doesn't have a way to import BOTF files

Nope. Many model was converted to Armada I-II, but the Chodak wasn't.

Problem is I haven't been able to extract any HOB files from the BOTF .res files because the tool I know of to do so (Ultimate Editor) for some reason doesn't want to cooperate

I take it you are working from the AFC Install/

I *think* so. I think AFC redirected me to the github page and that's where I got the version of Ultimate Editor I'm working with from

Yes, when I try to open either trek.exe or any of the .res files in the folder, it says it's either not a supported version or not trek.exe

I can only say that it is possible, as I was sent a converted model of the Chodak ship in 2003. But I don't believe the models are particularly high quality, as even then I decided to build by own Chodak dreadnought instead of using the converted one, according to the archived copy of my modding website from the time:



All long gone now, I'm afraid, thanks to hard drive failures and such over the years, but just a side note.
