Screenshot Contest

Hi all, well Elrond has one of these on this site and with the rather few additions to it I thought I might try one here. Hope you don't mind Elrond.

Simply put every week/month, (all depends on the amount of submissions we get) a winner is chosen from the submissions. No real prize here except the gratification of being the winner and getting a virtual pat on the back from your peers.

Only one entry per person (doesn't matter if they are from the same mod or team), the screenshots can be of any mod (in progress or released) or it can even be from stock if you wish. A list of candidates will be chosen (community will choose unless there is a lack or response then the staff will or if there are so few entires that this step isn't required) from all the entires and then a poll will come up where you the community will choose the winner. Anyone can vote including staff.

All we ask is that they be 1024x768 in size, and that you either:

• Link to them
• Thumbnail to them
• Spoiler tag them
• Attach them using the attachment feature

When posting your submissions in this thread.

A tip would be to do the CTRL+I to remove the GUI interface as having it gone will improve your chances of winning as will action shots compared to beauty shots as the aim of this contest is to see Armada 2 (in any form) not a beauty shot of a ship.

Note: With voting you can't vote for your own submissions.

Well it's pretty easy so I hope to see some submissions soon from all corners of the forum.

I think the Klingons have that Battle won.

I'll have to get a few screenshots up here, though as of yet, I still haven't got my weapons working. Having since scaled all my ships in Milkshape, it appears as though many of the hardpoints chanced position or shape, thus I practically have to re-hardpoint everything (again).

Quite Frustrating.

I was torn between Tycoon's and Dan1025. So, I found the perfect tie breaker. My 5 year old son. He liked "the one with the ships and panets." I did like the detail in Tycoon's. If only it had more ships. Great job everyone!

Well, even at the tender age of 11 days, my son loves sitting on my knee watching me play KA2. He seems to like the Klingon most music. Must be the beat.

I voted for Whellers as his had the most Armada style screenshot, ie ships fighting one another as per my request in the first post. We see enough beauty shots on A2Files that the principle behind the game has left POTD's in the last two years.

i'm torn because they're all good, but in the end I went for Majestics.

I love the amount of detail in Ash's, especially the sovereign, it really looks like something you'd see in the show with the engines etc all dark. looks fantastic, like a sleeping giant ready to launch.

I like dan's because of all the detail involved and the illustration of his vulcan mod, and i feel guilty not voting for my AndrArmada co-monkey.

I also liked Whellers and Majestics because they show what Armada does best. ships blowing the heck out of each other, which is what the game is all about. which is why Majestic won, more ships, more carnage, and i'm less familiar with SG-1/Atlantis than I am with Trek.

Remember guys we want Armada shots not beauty shots, shots like Jetfreaks while good aren't what we want as they are everywhere these days. Looks at the one I and Wheller posted previously to see what we are aiming for.

Due to this I will allow anyone who have posted a beauty shot just now to resubmit a proper one for this coming competition.

Sorry guys, but what makes an armada shot different from a beauty shot? I mean, both were taken ingame......

We want to see more action, fleet action without all the fancy map editor interference. Like I said earlier have a look at both the submissions of myself and Wheller to see what I mean.

We see enough beauty shots with A2Files POTD and the various screenshot threads throughout the net.

So what we are after is more what you see when playing the game rather than set up shots that started to swarm the community a year or so ago. Back to the basics so to speak, something different that captures what Armada is at the core rather than something that is like SFC, BC or Legacy.
