• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Hey guys. A while back I asked Kreeargh about his SF shipyards I saw in the Scifi-Meshes forums. Instead of just giving me the model, he decided to release it full on in the downloads section. So I was wondering...

I was gonna try and convert this myself, but my free trial of milkshape expired, and I have nothing else to do it with. I could try again, but what I really wanted to know is; Would anyone be willing to convert it to A2 and release it here?

Hmm, looking at the model there's over 36,000 polies and ten texture files. Now, I've got a free day tomorrow so if you want I can try to whip up a lower poly one? The shape isn't that complicated, and I can render off the original model for reference.

Obviously I can't equal the detail, but I reckon I could do something at under six thousand.

On a side note, is this for your BSG mod? If it is then I have a wee bit of an idea...

Well, it is a little high, but it is made to be built in sections, and I"m sure it won't cause too many problems, being a station. and it will be in my mod, but I would prefer not exclusively, and I will most likely build it in sections.

Well if you can give me a couple of days I'll make one and release it here :). What I was going to say was whether you intended to use it like the Klingon Field Yard.

Of course, it's your choice whether to use it or not - but building this thing may give me some ideas about the yards I still have to make for my mod :lol:

Apologies for the double post, but I'm afraid something pretty big has just come up; it'll probably be about a week before I can get around to making this - and even then it's going to take a while to texture and get all of the hardpoints properly aligned and what not.

Starfox, if you wanna' have a go at porting then feel free. I opened the .3ds in ms3d and it's not central and needs scaling by about 0.1 on all axis before anything can be done - else it just messes up the viewport.

No rush mate, it prally won't be in-game for a while, and yeah, modular additions just like the field yard.:) Great minds think alike I guess :thumbsup:

If you wanna port it as several smaller sections that might be easier aswell.
